I got reamed at 45K. The car is what I wanted. We fought back and forth all day, he wouldn't budge. If i could get a good deal around here I would still pay 50k. More importantly I don't have to wait as I am on vacation until the end of March and want to have some fun ASAP!!
Also I won't feel as bad when it is time to get something else. Next order of business I guess is to sell my TL. Then I need to start putting some $ away for something to commute in.

Winter tires make a world of difference, heck it performs better than my TL with all season tires.

I had to lift my car and raise it yesterday; last winter I didn't have to but this winter we have a ton of snow, and I kept bottoming out. My entire skid plate got torn off in my alley last week :/

As for handling, still no problems and this has been the worst Feb on record for snow/ice. It's the height that gives me trouble. I just raised it back to stock height till spring, should have done it in the first place.

Once my PSS9s go on, in the winter time I'm going to raise the car at stock or a lil above. With Chicago potholes and street dips, its been a challenge averting them.

Unseen calamities are happening LOL. We were gonna do an in-out at the BMW dealer where he is buying another car but they are reluctant to do this because I have my own financing lined up and they aren't making any money off of me. I have a really good interest rate with my credit union. I told them what they are getting out of this transaction is to sell him another car. Fuck prick ass car salesmen.

on a side note ... i hit a huge pothole and a have a bubble in my front tire. Pretty pissed about that. The only thing that is making me feel better is that for the first time I bought tire insurance. Well, that paid off!

I didn't realize the 3-series doesn't come with a spare. And you're saying the RF's get bubbles easily?

So what are people doing? Replacing with a non-RF tire and praying they don't get a flat?

Pray...and keep a can of fix-a-flat in the trunk.

Replace with non-RF tires and carry a BMW or Conti mobility kit (i.e. fancy fix a flat) in the trunk. Run Flat tires are horrible.

The only BMW's that come with non-run flats are the Mcars... and because the car doesn't have a spare tire well, you'll lose valuable trunk space if you decide to run non-rf tires and carry a spare.

They may claim it for safety, etc... but I'm sure it's really just a cost cutting measure.

I'm tough on tires (went thru 3 OEMs in 25K miles on the acura), so I'm hesitant about buying a car with crappy RF's, having to replace the non-RF's, and then worrying about not having a spare (especially on long road trips).

Edit: I guess BMW's don't even come with jacks and tire irons now ?? So in addition to a spare, you'd have to carry a jack too...

Yep, its a price to pay to be living on the edge.

Good news is that those RF cost a lot so i was able to sell mine for $750 which easily paid for non-RFs.

Of all the times I have gotten flats, they were always either in my garage or at work. Never inbetween so i been ok. (im talking about the past 5 years)

They are not "performance" tires (which is why they don't put them on Mcars), and they are expensive to replace.

If you've got a cellphone and AAA (I've got neither), it would be a minor inconvenience when running around town to call for a tow (if needed). A mobility kit should work fine for around town, but I'd be packing a space saver spare and jack if I went on vacation (like when I drove to Baltimore last year).

Or you could just stick with the RF's and call it a day

i don't understand this desire to always be unique...i don't mean this in a negative way. If something looks good...it looks good. Not to mention the huge price difference in the wheels u bought and the ones he would buy. I hear people say that all the time. Just wondering why that is so important.

Because some people spend too much time dry-humping their rides me thinks

Actually the only cars with runflats standard are 3 series, 6 series and new X5s. Not all 5 series have runflats, most 7 series don't have runflats and no X3s have runflats.

For most BMW owners runflats are a huge plus. When you can drive up to 150 miles (the latest runflats) on a complete flat to the nearest dealer or even gas station if need be instead of getting out on the side of the road to change a tire or wait an hour or two for a tow truck, most customers prefer that. Can you see a 7 series owner on the side of the road changing a tire?

Mainly the sport package runflats. The ones on the non sport packages are generally better and don't bubble nearly as much as the Bridgetsone Potenzas that are on sport package equipped vehicles.

The run flats on sport package cars handle pretty well to me. They're no Pilot Sport 2s but they grip the road pretty well. Also the regular runflats aren't that expensive. The runflats that are on 325s and 328s with no sport package are about $230 each through a dealer(gonna vary a little dealer to dealer). The crappy Michelens on my CL were that much and they are about the same size, but aren't runflats. Its only when you get into the sport package tires you start talking big dollars, but even then a Bridgestone Pilot Sport 2 on an M5 or M6 is more than $500.

trust me, where I live just having a 335 coupe is pretty unique. I have seen maybe 4 on the road in New Orleans since they came out. I want to get the reps because I love the look and they are cheap. The roads in NO are so bad. I figure I can buy reps and tires for damn near the cost of just the RF tires.

On a side note I just got home with the car an hour ago. Drove straight from Memphis to home. AWESOME.
