Some jackhole opened the door to his rental Challenger into my 328i as I was pulling into the space next to him. Did $1200 of damage to my car.

Even though I'm going to take a painful loss on the car, I've finally had enough.

Just can't decide to be reasonable and look for a CL-S 6MT (which I should have been patient for in the first place) or spend a little more for a 350Z. Leaning towards the CL-S.

I haven't completely decided yet but I would say $9-11k.

Though at times I look up to $13k but am trying to be reasonable

If you can find a clean CL-S6, go for it. Theyre great cars and get pretty good gas mileage for what they are. My lifetime average is ~27mpg, and I beat on it pretty good. I've seen 32 highway mpg on more then one occasion.

So I decided to sell the BMW and use that money to pay down the Jetta Wagon. Owe $11k and hope to get $6k for the 328i when it's ready for sale.

Being a responsible adult sucks sometimes.

Good luck on your efforts. Getting rid of toys is no fun, at all.

Coming from you, that is gospel

I am hoping with a paid off JSW, that might open up options that are not available right now. I just feel like cars in the $10k range are just compromises I don't want to make.

Passed the TSX onto my brother and picked up this bad boy...

2011 M3 sedan. Looks like I have followed a few of your footsteps in turning this place into BMWzine.

Yea, I had been wanted to upgrade to something like this for a long time. It was a ton of patience that paid off randomly last week when I literally stumbled upon this beauty. Sedans are so rare, at least in the Boston area...

It's only 9 months old with 2,100 miles. Previous owner didn't drive it much all winter and traded it in on a new 911. It's got the original warranty, but I am debating buying an extended...

I'll try to take some more pics soon and get them posted. I've been too focused on the driving experience, it's just unreal.

Oh and I managed to blow through a tank of gas over the weekend...

Yup, it's pretty much fully loaded. The auto start/stop is a bit odd though, I've turned it off for now. Not sure if it causing extra stress onto the starter or not.

It's an M-car; start/stop is ridculous on that car. Go have the dealership code it to "off" all the time (so it only functions if YOU turn it on).

Yeah, it just feels so out of place when I come to a stop and the engine shuts off. It's a push button under the stereo. It starts in whatever state you left it, so it just stays off...

Since I'm selling the E36, I decided to pick up a new bike.

It's a year-end 2012 Fuji SST 2.0 with Ultegra group. Full carbon and weighs just under 17lbs. Get it Monday night and hope to get a ride in before my first century on Sunday the 23rd. Got it for $2500 instead of the $4500 MSRP.

Here is my new one from last week. But my 3-series is a keeper.

Any of you have any experience with the LUX H8 V3 angel eye kit or recommend any others I should look at?

I have them on my E93. Easy to install, nice amount of brightness, and good color. I get the occasional error code when it's really hot out (I think I need to move the in-line power supplies around a bit), but otherwise no issues. Bear in mind that LUX is one guy doing this part time out of his garage, so don't expect top-notch sophistication and customer service.

Nice, let me know how difficult it is. I may do it myself in another month or two.

I gotta first take care of getting winter wheels/tires and a clear wrap to protect the front. Debating on whether to have a local shop wrap the whole hood or not.

I have done the install before so im use to it. But personally dont think its an easy install, its a pain in the ass! Mostly because of the tight spot you have to work worth. Small hands are your friend.

I've got skinny hands...thought it was totally easy. But, I'm comparing it to my M5 which required me to pull the headlight housing out, so....

ROFL, I guess I'm going to have to double down on this car. I simply cannot even get it ready for sale w/o spending more money ... Just dropped coin on a new tensioner pulley, alternator, and valve cover. Still needs some body work done for rust and a broken front bumper.

I realize that I could eventually spend twice what I've already spent but I'm already close in maintenance to what I paid for the car.

I just don't think I can cut bait and take such a huge loss when the car runs really well right now.

Anyone else in this position before? What did you do?

I'm going to have to start learning how to turn a wrench if I'm going to keep this car. $85/hr adds up very quickly.

Sounds about like me, I had to part ways with my E46 because it finally got too expensive to maintain and when I sold it there was about $4-6k in work to be done, likely making it worth $5-8k, not a sound investment by any means. I made back something like 15% of what I originally paid for the car, but I am elated to have it gone.

I hear you. I'm *this* close to having the car pretty much done to where I don't think I'll need to do anything for a while. All the obvious stuff is done.

I just feel like I'll have made a $6k donation to charity if I sell it now.
