Porsche started it so yeah what a dumb move right!?
It's supposed to be for track driving, it gives you the maximum grip.
For daily driving? Just for the looks. It doesn't get super cold or hot, so that's one cool thing.

I personally love OEM cars coming with it because it's gives me never ending business pretty much, I do a lot of Porsche/BMW OEM wheel reupholstery service.
I shoot people
I'm trying to decide to keep my hood scoop white (as is in top picture) or go black (bottom picture, randomly found online)
what do you guys think?

I prefer white. But both look cool.

White looks so much cleaner. Black makes it look like some janky aftermarket.

Went to the International Auto Show in the newly redone convention center in Miami Beach. Wow it was meh. No BMW, Mercedes, nor Million Dollar Alley. Knocked out it in like 2 hours.

I try to make my way to the auto show once every few years. Never been to the one in SF, but I usually go to the San Jose one. Hit or miss but they usually have luxury marques. Interesting to see them all in person.

Another vote for white on the Mini.

Also... I had an alcantara steering wheel on my Nismo Z. 19000 km when I sold it, and not a single bit of wear on it.
it felt fuggin amazing in your hands though. I imagine you have to be a bit careful with it- it was my nice car, so it was always well cared for- but it seemed durable enough. If anything, I’d just look to replace it just before warranty was up, to keep it fresh for another 5 years

Keep them white... but i would do black grille frame tho...
I know black means sporty nowadays but too much at the wrong area of the car = 1999 civic DX to me

I think we got a cut version because they literally reopened the center last week and the show started Friday. I'm sure San Fran's will be better and you gotta go for the talent showing off the cars

I didn’t do anything to care for my wheel
But I can tell you I sure as hell didn’t drive with filthy hands. I wouldn’t do that with any car, though. Ends up just feeling fuggin nasty after.

Yeah, it's very delicate. Someone can fuck up an Alcantara steering wheel in 2 hours. But some people can keep it clean for 2 years. All about how you maintain it. If someone NEVER cleans their hands before driving nor never clean their interior, it's most definitely not recommended. Real Nappa Leather is a much better choice for them.

No not at all. Just don't have nasty hands. It's not like I washed my hands before driving every time. Fuck that noise.

I found a Frankenstein BMW lol.
The front is the 09-11 but the rear is the 06-08. Some poor guy is going to buy this having no idea.

Why would you do this? Lol

I probably wouldn't have noticed, but I'm not a big BMW follower.

If you are the type of guy who work on the car all day long and don't wash the hands and go out for a drive without washing the hands, then yes get the leather or fake leather for no maintenance.
That's fair! Most of my CTR clients ended up getting either TE, CE or new Titan7 Wheels. All look sick!
Ex-OEM King
I'd wash my hands before doing just about anything if I was working on the car or anything outside. I don't think any material is going to hold up to grease and grime of that nature. Also, it's gross.

Plus, TE37s are classically gorgeous. There’s a reason they’ve stayed relevant for over two decades. I’d argue they look timeless, not classic like some of the Mugen wheels from the 80s.

What is the difference between timeless and classic? good luck explaining that.

The Aztek's ugly is timeless. It's angles will forever be a classic example of how not to design a car...until the X6 showed up.
Okay fine. They mean the same.

Anyone ever see a Rhino XT before?

Interesting, so they're a direct fit? They always looked different to me so I had figured that car had bumper work. That's really cheap of them though lol

Just swap the entire trunk lid. Maybe that car had a rear end accident... who knows. No bumper work needed tho.
Outer light is the same. Inner is part of the trunk. So pretty easy.
Now wiring and coding is another story.

If something is classic, it means it's old. It has aged a certain amount of years, and is classic. It can look old and outdated - but those factors can be a function of its classic-ness. It does not indicate anything about whether it still "looks good".
Something that is timeless, still looks good. It CAN be a classic also, but not necessarily.

It really isn't that complicated discerning one from the other
