Why, WHY are you taking delivery in the middle of winter? Did you guys consider waiting until March when it's warmer?

I guess that wouldn't be until May, if not June-ish.

Point made.

Exactly this.

I suggest Volvo, Cadillac... my sister's like, "those are old people cars" I was like I don't know any old people that drive them. She just wants an SUV that's "cute". The higher driving position is probably the most important thing. Jeep - "eww"

Honda CRV. (Or HRV)

Why stuck on Porsche?

I guess I can understand...no offense to your family....but seeing lot of asians who has or is coming into money they only want luxury brands (BMW, Mercedes, etc.)

I see lot of old asian ladies here driving S-class and 7-series.....

if girlfriend wants a Porsche with her $$ assuming, and you are suggesting a CRV/HRV, that will be the end of you.

March is not warm here! It's just as awful as December/January. We don't climb outta the perma-frost until late April.

The December/January timeline is their conservative estimate given that 2019 production has not yet been announced by Owdee. Alot can change once the mothership releases 2019 pricing too. I'll know more by August hopefully. HOPEFULLY.

Didn't listen, took job, living with 3 other guys in a 2 bedroom place paying 5k / mo. in rent

My other buddy got in early, bought a townhome for a meager 500k about 15 years ago.
You can imagine how much it's worth now.

Btw.. median home price around the googleplex is 2.5M.
F that. Bay area is going to take a nose dive soon. People are leaving in droves.

19" winter wheels? Bold move, we'll see how this plays out.

It's risen like 100-200% there in the past few years
It's definitely inflated, but supply and demand

Maybe the new ones might lose value, but those who bought 2009-2014 have shit tons of equity
There's still some prime industry there that is mostly recession proof, including Google

All in, $3400 CAD. The parts guy said he expects the price to be a tad less when I pay for them as he'll work something out since I "bought a car from them". Sure.

Giving my '17 Accord to my mother (who is driving again) and now I need a 'practical' vehicle AKA anything that seats more than two

Maybe an old Legend

^Given your resume, I assume you're looking at new Accords which I like. More boost for you too.

Been considering it for a while. So far Denver, Austin, and North Carolina are topping the list but I haven't found anything worth it yet.

Yeah but a lot of those companies are looking elsewhere because top talent isn't moving to the bay area because they'd have to live in a 600sqft box with 7 other dudes in order to afford it. Also SF is a sh1thole of the highest order with the homeless issues and constant political BS going on. Amazon is getting a second HQ, Google has been building up a presence in the midwest, I'm sure Apple isn't far behind but they are too elitist to actually do anything.

Ouch...

I just found a mint condition set of OE VW 17's with summer tires (Conti DW) on craigslist for $175, sold the tires for $125, and swapped the Blizzaks from my wife's Accord (now sold) to the VW wheels since they have a lot of life left and the size matches up close enough. I'll sell the Accord wheels when I get a chance to get them fixed up. All in, I'll have made money on getting winter wheels and tires for the Golf.

That would be the logical choice, probably a 2.0 Sport 6MT. I also like the new Mazda 6 Signature Edition.. a pity it doesn't come with a manual.

I always wanted a Legend though...

According to your list of cars, you are lying to yourself if you get anything other than a Honda/Acura

You know you are gonna get the Accord... or the RDX

Legend as a daily sounds risky. Last one was in the 90's no? I guess CRZ when it's on jacks.

In all seriousness... you might as well.... especially 1 or 2 years old ones with their "superior" resale value.

As much as i talk shit about RLX, i would still take it over the Accord for the same price.

RLX SH, take the road less traveled. Be exclusive and enjoy all the superiority that it comes with.

Other than blown headgaskets, they're solid. And well, you can always do the 3.5 swap or modify the fans to keep cooling after shutdown (1st gen TL 3.2 did that)
