General Car Talk Discussion Thread
I guess that wouldn't be until May, if not June-ish.
Point made.
She is a girl and she is Asian, she aint got time for a test drive, as long as it is a Porsche, enough said.
My GF's wants a new car, i asked what is your budget? She said she wants a BMW... i said OK.... what kind? She said, "I dont care"

I suggest Volvo, Cadillac... my sister's like, "those are old people cars" I was like I don't know any old people that drive them. She just wants an SUV that's "cute". The higher driving position is probably the most important thing. Jeep - "eww"
Honda CRV. (Or HRV)
Why stuck on Porsche?
I guess I can understand...no offense to your family....but seeing lot of asians who has or is coming into money they only want luxury brands (BMW, Mercedes, etc.)
I see lot of old asian ladies here driving S-class and 7-series.....

girlfriend wants a Porsche with her $$ assuming, and you are suggesting a CRV/HRV, that will be the end of you.

The December/January timeline is their conservative estimate given that 2019 production has not yet been announced by Owdee. Alot can change once the mothership releases 2019 pricing too. I'll know more by August hopefully. HOPEFULLY.

AT LEAST! For the LA area at least from my research lately.
F that. Bay area is going to take a nose dive soon. People are leaving in droves.
Didn't mention to me or I didn't read it at least...but nice. You know cold then. It sucks.
I wish I had that kind of cash...
Dude
Why it's so easy to live at Google - Business Insider
I have a dumbass buddy who works at Google (a smart and savvy one too).
Well.. I told dumbass buddy that everything comes with a price at Google.
He was like.. they paying me 176k starting. I'm like.. that's below average there.
Didn't listen, took job, living with 3 other guys in a 2 bedroom place paying 5k / mo. in rent
My other buddy got in early, bought a townhome for a meager 500k about 15 years ago.
You can imagine how much it's worth now.
Btw.. median home price around the googleplex is 2.5M.

I think i mentioned this before... i was born and raised in a city next To Russia. While i would not say i could see Russia from my house, but -40C was the average and the winter was 6 months long. The snow was knee high and i had to walk to my elementary school.
So yah i know how it is....

Speaking of cold weather, I just bought the wheels for my vapor car today.
These ones: https://www.audi.ca/ca/web/en/models...99B%20AX1.html
...with Continentals per Maj's recommendation.
Stealership will hold onto them until the vaporcar arrives.

Almost missed this..
They look great! That price...

Good thing you got a good deal on them contis right? right?!??

You thinking of leaving the great state of MN?
It's definitely inflated, but supply and demand
Maybe the new ones might lose value, but those who bought 2009-2014 have shit tons of equity
There's still some prime industry there that is mostly recession proof, including Google
All in, $3400 CAD. The parts guy said he expects the price to be a tad less when I pay for them as he'll work something out since I "bought a car from them". Sure.
Been considering it for a while. So far Denver, Austin, and North Carolina are topping the list but I haven't found anything worth it yet.
Yeah but a lot of those companies are looking elsewhere because top talent isn't moving to the bay area because they'd have to live in a 600sqft box with 7 other dudes in order to afford it. Also SF is a sh1thole of the highest order with the homeless issues and constant political BS going on. Amazon is getting a second HQ, Google has been building up a presence in the midwest, I'm sure Apple isn't far behind but they are too elitist to actually do anything.
It's risen like 100-200% there in the past few years

I just found a mint condition set of OE VW 17's with summer tires (Conti DW) on craigslist for $175, sold the tires for $125, and swapped the Blizzaks from my wife's Accord (now sold) to the VW wheels since they have a lot of life left and the size matches up close enough. I'll sell the Accord wheels when I get a chance to get them fixed up. All in, I'll have made money on getting winter wheels and tires for the Golf.
I always wanted a Legend though...

Anyone looking for a Legend? Need to slim down, I own 3 and need to sell 1 of them. I'll be looking for around 5k.
It's a 6MT 1994 LS Coupe white with black interior, 175k on chassis. Put a ton of work into this car and have receipts, recently dropped in a newer JDM 3.5 motor and lower mileage manual trans.

As much as i talk shit about RLX, i would still take it over the Accord for the same price.
