Further supports me being way too poor for a Poorsche.
You guys are not looking at it correctly. Don’t think of it as spending $2,800 for a shift knob, think of it as saving $200!
Speaking of Porsche tax, I went in for my yearly service and the rate is $299/hr for labor. I was looking for the hidden camera because I was sure I was on a YouTube prankster clip, apparently not.

I do like the look of the slant nose, but a lot of the look in a 911 comes from its goofy frog eyes. So, without the funny face, it’s just a sports/super car and I find others do the sloped nose better.
^ Agreed but they'll just make that new slant nose a special edition model with a short production run and charge an astronomical amount of money for it...and then sell every single one.
Also it's clearly not the new GT2 as its based off a 991
me getting too excited about that pic. Also its from JONSIBAL a known digital auto artist.
That being said, yeah slant-nose Porsche is a different kind of sexy.

I look forward to Matt’s carwow video about trading my gt3 RS -> S/T -> gt3 touring for this slant nose thing

To expound on and transfer a topic from Car Photo thread , what are your thoughts on the 12Cilindri? I was kinda iffy at first but its been growing on me. I think the nod to the Daytona is quite something. I mean, I also think its so played out but damn. I mean its a helluva a lot better than what they did with the "new" Testarossa.
Yep, only 7000 units built to celebrate Porsches 70th anniversary, and if you buy 20 new Taycans, you might be invited to buy one at msrp. About 1000 units will be reserved for YouTubers.

Tell us how you really feel.
This might be a hot take but I feel like the 992 GT3 and especially GT3 RS are the most overpriced/overrated cars on the market. Are they amazing cars, yes absolutely, but they aren't worth $250k plus options plus markup and they definitely shouldn't be cars that appreciate in value given they are unlimited production number cars that have been being built for years and years with no end in sight.
That said, I guess they are worth whatever people will pay for them which seems to be $250k plus options plus markup lol.

Several months after I got my GT3, one of the 2 local dealers reached out to me saying they have a CPO manual that just arrived if I’m still in the market. I told them that I wasn’t and that my GT3 had fewer miles than the one they were calling me about. At that point they asked if I would be interested in a new GT3 RS, they could make that happen if I trade in my GT3 for it. I might have pursued it if the RS had an optional manual, but it doesn’t.
as far as prices, I think 250k for an RS is fair, but currently, that’s MSRP with nothing spec’ed. Add a few goodies and market adjustment, and those things trade at newer 400k… that number is just comical.
the 992.2 GT3 starting MSRP is 230k. Hahaha! For the 991.2 generation like I have, it was 144k.
even the R35 GTR price bloat was mild in comparison.
regarding the 12 cilindri; initially the uni-brow didn’t really do it for me. Also, if you crop the nose, I find it looks more Lamborghini with sharp edges. The side profile is definitely smooth and Ferrari-like, the back is a bit of both. I do find the F12 and 812 prettier though. I won’t comment on the interior because it will be one long tirade.

In short, if I see one around I think to myself “oh sweet a 12 cilindri”.
But, there is no level of personal wealth where I would go out and buy one.
I agree, what’s odd is the gt3 operates like a numbered car. I can’t go into a dealer and walk out with a new GT3. I tried almost 8 years ago. I went to both Porsche dealerships in my area. I even borrowed my dad’s 2012 Carrera S because I thought that would get me a little credit. Nope, and I wasn’t even trying to be stiff with MSRP. At the time, ADM for a gt3 was 30-40k depending on the region. Both dealers told me to go for a walk, though one was more courteous in their delivery. My dad reached out to his sales guy in Atlanta where he bought his 911, also no-go. Then, I phoned a bunch of dealerships in the south east. Again, no-go. So, I eventually found a very low miles CPO in Connecticut and went with that.

I am way too poor to have this problem but there are a whole bunch of cars that I would rather buy for a lot less money than a GT3. It is undeniably a cool and fantastic car but the prices are just insanity. $400k is firmly into exotic territory and no 911 belongs or lives in that space. Even $144k for a used one is kind of dumb but I can believe that...and I'm too poor to do that either but this sort of thing happens no matter what Porsche 911 you're buying and it's probably more of a dealer thing than a Porsche thing.
I am glad I got mine when I did though. I believe it roughly maintained value, but now it has 16k+ miles and is nearly 8 years old with no warranty. That’s a bit too much too justify to myself.
when I started my car hunt, I wasn’t looking at gt3, that was above budget by a good margin.
What I’m trying to say is; of course the cost of the car is a huge part of the decision, but it’s also what you want the car for. In my case, if it was a daily that I could park everywhere and get ding-ed and scraped, $200k was out of the question and the extra value of the gt3 would not make sense to me. But for an occasion car, I know I would have regretted getting the 991.2 Carrara S manual that I test drove. The price difference between the Carrera S and the GT3 was probably 60-70k but today, I don’t regret the decision at all.
yeah, I agree 400k is too steep, I wouldn’t get the new RS for that money nor the 997.2 RS. I would likely go F8, unless I had to pick a new car, then I’m not sure what would go for.

For $400k though...I'd be looking at a 296 GTB.
