I highly doubt that, manufacturers and media still quote 0-60 as some notable figure.

I don't think 0-60 is going anywhere. It's what most people remember, and are comfortable with.

That said.. just because the imperial system is ubiquitous doesn't mean it's good.

In my defense I mentioned 0-62, also known as 0-100 Km/hour

My buddy buddy got a 2014 S5 Prestige. So fucking jealous. Then my car got hit and I've been like the rest of the day. The car is gorgeous. If I could only fit two dogs in one

You want jealous? Consider the kids here in Vancouver who are driving around 911 Turbos, Ferraris, Aston Martins...

Some of them, their day job? Working at Best Buy or Safeway.

When you start comparing 0-60 times in, say the 2.5-3.5 second range, that number becomes more and more unreliable since plenty of other factors play a bigger role. For example, car that runs a 3.2 or a 3.3 one day, and a 3.5 another day is a bigger deal than the gap between a 6.5 and a 6.7 time.

And by soon I meant like 5-8ish years. JMO.

I normally don't care about it either. I'm not concerned about acceleration while the case is moving to get around trucks and idiots

S5 is extremely sexy.

Just cram one dog in the front seat and one in the back.

His car is insane. Beautiful. Has the carbon trim and just about every option. I was a little jealous but only in that I'd love to have that car. He deserves it. He's been through a lot, persevered, and is incredibly generous to his family that honestly are a bunch of fuckups. So him doing something nice for himself like this is not normal. I was happy for him that he finally treated himself to something really nice. He works his ass off.

I think when manufacturer's show 0-60 time, they are only showing a "best". I think it's understood that the car is not always going to run that time. And let's face it when you are going this fast, nobody's going to be like well you said the car would do it in 2.9 sec but in reality it took 3.5 seconds.

Have a Need for Speed? Drive a Ferrari Through Scenic Park City

FWIW, sounds like a fun vacation

https://www.yahoo.com/travel/have-a-...474773587.html

Sure, it’s fun to hike through Park City, but it’s even more fun to drive a Ferrari through Park City.
This may sound like the stuff of dreams, but it’s actually well within reach, thanks to the Waldorf Astoria. The resort, located at the base of Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah, just announced the new Waldorf Astoria Driving Experiences. This one-of-a-kind deal will give travelers the opportunity to access some of the most scenic drives in America behind the wheel of a Ferrari 458 Italia, a McLaren MP4-12C, and a Porsche 911 Turbo. So grab your driving gloves and head to Park City because this offer won’t last forever.
The pimped-out ride experience is only for hotel guests and will be available from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5.

Here are the package details:
Cost: Best rate available + $999
Stay: One night’s accommodation
Drive time: 2.5-3.0 hours in three supercars: a Ferrari 458 Italia, a McLaren MP4-12C, and a Porsche 911 Turbo. Up to three pairs of drivers can participate in one driving session, and they will be led by a professional racecar driver in a fourth car. At the end, participants will receive a photograph of the experience.
Booking dates: Available to book now through Sept. 29
Travel dates: Sept. 30 to Oct. 5

After racing on a road course I unfortunately have very little interest in just driving a supercar on the street. It would undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience. One that you can brag to all your friends about. But I don't feel like you're getting the real thing

The challanger hellcat is 59.9.. same ballpark I'm guessing. It has 12# of boost, 9.5 CR with all new forged internals including crank, rods and pistons. New heads to withstand the boost. It can be programmed down to 300 or 500 hp in case you want to let one of your dumb buddies drive it. It also has electronic cutouts, pzeros and the challenger has a front ram intake, not sure if it's fitted on the charger as well. It's a freaking beast of car. low 11's on pzeros, mid 10s on drags.

It was also built to run at the track all day long and stay in op temp, plus tip toe at 20 mpg. At WOT, this sucker can burn 1.5 gallons of petro in a minute though.

We call that Smile Per Gallon.

Shit at $60k... that will be bargain of the century in terms of performance.

I hope it handles decent.

I think it looks very aggressive and you can't argue with 707 HP supercharged V8 at $60k...

It may not handle well.... but the price and 707hp make up for everything.
