The Aztek should have been rated the top embarrassment of all time. I mean, from a styling point of view, only a pregnant walrus humping a cardboard box comes to mind. And just think, someone dedicated many, many seconds (and a cocktail napkin) drawing that design up.

Can't watch the video at work, but the price point of the G8 was perfect. GXP was marked up a little too high. Name (Chevy SS) is still stupid.

Let's make a new sedan. We'll call it the Mercedes Benz AMG! Or a BMW M! Audi RS! Ford SVT!

It's the Commodore SS

All Chevy did with it is take Commodore out of the name and then fuck it up, including the addition of those dumbass faux plastic clip shit on the seat. Whoever did that should be rammed in the ass, kicked in the balls, and poked in the eyes.

You guys and the SS seats such anger. much upset.

I'll agree they look cheesy. But I think the worst part about the interior is still the tacky SS emblem/embroidery on the dash. And the copious amounts of shiny painted plastic.

Fucking GM... it's like they don't know how to design an interior when it's not parts-bin piecemeal status.

The SS looks rather bland. Is it supposed to look boring and be fast?

Well.. boring is subjective, but it definitely doesn't look any different than a run-of-the-mill chevy on the rental lot.

I remember why I hate getting down to the negotiation game of car shopping. You get 90% of the way done, & then they shit all over any chance of a deal happening. Now, I'm positive I don't want a car I looked at on Monday because the salesman won't stop texting me deals.

On the other end, my Acura must know I'm car shopping because the brakes need changing. And because I'm so irked by this week's event, I went ahead & ordered Stoptech rotors, stainless lines, & EBC redstuffs for it. Guess if I'm gonna strike out on a deal, I might as well make myself happy with what I've got.

Yeah. I was excited when a co-worker told me about it. I was, at the time, seriously considering a CTS-V because it fit pretty much everything I needed. Was told to check out the SS. When the pictures finally came out it was a huge disappointment.

Saw my first SS on the road. Looks good from the rear but way too much chrome in the front end.

Then I was driving behind a black Malibu and noticed how similar they were.

I used to work for a Chevrolet dealer when I was in college. Stopped in there not too long ago. Was walking through the showroom & stopped figure out when the SS Malibu came back, then I noticed it just said SS on the back.
I don't think it's a bad looking car, but does have a lot of similarity with the Malibu. The skinny pedal should make all those thoughts go away pretty quickly.

Road & Track blames poor sales on clueless salespeople:

The Subaru dealer was no better. They kept pushing the Outback.

I just read it too.

Hilarious.

The Scion dealer that I went to test drive had a salesperson who looked like 16 yr old. I just straight up told him that I don't need any info on the car since I know just about everything. Told him that I just need to test drive the car. I swear we didn't talk at all.

The Subaru dealer (Pacific Subaru in Torrance) was much better. Most of the sales guys and girls had a modified Subaru. They were all on the forum too. The dealership experience was very chill.

By the way, Glendale Subaru is the worst. I believe these R&T guys went to Glendale Subaru.

Well, Koenigsegg has picked their North American dealership...Manhattan Motors over in NYC.

Who's preordering that One:1?

I'll say this: the salesguy at Manhattan Motors could be a chimpanzee and I'd still by a Koenigsegg.

if the BRZ had some real power output, they wouldn't have to try so hard to sell it.

Probably more that these dealers are lazy. They hire bodies to sit on the floor and facilitate sales.

Honestly, these dealers in the R&T story are why Tesla wants to have their own dealership network. I don't blame them.

Customer: "Hi, I'd like to test drive a Tesla. How long does the charge last?"
Salesperson: "Huh? What do you mean 'charge'?"
Customer: "The Tesla has batteries."
Salesperson: "Well yeah, one for starting the car."
Customer: "No, I mean it has no engine."
Salesperson: "Oh! Well that depends on how long you use the radio."

I remember car shopping with a friend in the 90's, I think we were at a Pontiac dealer and he was looking at Firebirds. Salesperson was trying to convince us that auto transmission shifts faster than manual. Of course this was back when this was not true...

I drove one of those 4-speed autos in a V8 Firebird Formula. The shifts were not crisp.

Having test driven one, I feel its adequate for what it is. It doesn't feel much faster than a Miata though. The problem is the torque on the GT86 peaks so late in the rev range. It urges you to wring it out, but around town it felt kinda slow.

I don't think it would be such a big deal to the get the new turbo out of the Outback XT or upcoming WRX in the BRZ. Speculation is rampant on why they don't. But the Toyota boss says it won't happen, and it hasn't.

Love those cars. Have a 94 tt that I will eventually get on the road again. CA smog makes it a pain to get it running right.

I can't even handle 200hp at the track properly. If anything, header+tune gets rid of that torque dip from 3500-4500.

And once I get to drive the car well enough, this baby.

http://openflashtablet.com/products/OFT300/index.html

This will make the car to have +300 crank hp in a Miata sized car. The car will still be under $32k and fly around.

Mustang yes. Just got it running again with a new carb. The M6 left when I split with the last g/f. She wound up selling it because it was a pain in the ass to keep running as a daily driver. Car was awesome but I didn't want to buy it off her.

I've never been a Mustang/Camaro fan, but the new SS with whatever the performance/appearence package is looks rather attractive.. too bad it was like $38k..

Edit: This one is configured exactly like the one I looked at: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

Probably doesn't help that most of the owners of the FRS that I've met are basically clueless.. They really should offer the FRS in Manual only. One guy I met told me it had an 8 Cylinder.. One even told me that he thought it was sorta like a camry coupe :wtf:
