it does take some learning, but i love it.
btw you can use two fingers to scroll in webpages, no need to point the curser to the scroll bars.
3 fingers for forward and back in browsing. etc.
alot can be just done with your fingers.

it does sound like there's a good level of -ness on my part because I don't know those commands. but, I thought Macs were supposed to be "easy" to use, for anyone.

I had a weird series of dreams last night... at one point I was at a store or a museum or something with a girlfriend and we saw a sculpture, it was organic in nature and consisted of 3 columns, was about 30 feet tall, it was pretty cool, i wanted to buy it. I looked at the details for it and the artist name said "jupitersolo".

Quick, I need advice! Its my last day in town, I'm going home to California for 3 weeks and I still have a ton of errands I gotta run. But this girl that I have been trying to get together for a portrait session with finally texted me today and wantes to know if we could meet up. She saw this picture:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3659/...276a3341_b.jpg
...and was like "OMG! I want a shot like that but with me in it!". But that is HDR with 3 long exposures. I know I can do something similar with LR3 with one exposure, but I need advice on sunset shots. I know I'll need a flash but any advice would be great.
The sunset here is late right now, like around 9pm

all you need is a steady tripod and a shutter release (or use the timer) - do your HDR exposures, and then pop the girl in, and do a flash shot of her. then do your HDR merge and paste the photo with her over the HDR image, and erase all around her. or, the opposite. problem solved! Will be doing this on Sunday for a shoot, btw. its a restaurant that used to be a bank, there is a big ass vault and circular steel thick ass door in there and lockboxes and all those goodies. I am excited.

No I mean you do your HDR exposures as a separate series, then you put the girl into the scene and expose a separate shot only for her. Set the flash and exposure for her, and don't worry about the surroundings. Go home and generate your HDR image (without the girl in it) - and then bring the image into PS (or whatever program you use) and then copy and paste the pic with the girl in it over the HDR and erase everything from the girl's pic except the girl, leaving the HDR layer as the background, and just the girl as the new layer's contents. Hope that makes sense.

Needs more Lemon Pledge
I may be wrong, but once you have your 3 shots for HDR, take a shot of her with whatever exposure you want for her (flash probably) just make sure not to move the camera setting up for the portrait and then once you have your three HDR completed in Photomatix, bring it into PS and add the shot of her as a layer mask. Then paint to reveal just what you want to show on top of the HDR.

32MP? Where am I gonna put all these images into? I just went to Rome for 6 days and I've taken over 64 GB of images! I guess I will need two new 3TB hard disks along with this 5DIII (one for original and one for backup).
I don't mind if Canon will keep it at around 24-27 MP range. I would like to see the noise performance of the current 5DII at ISO 3200 at, say, 6400 or 12800 of the new 5DIII.

Earth-bound misfit
I agree, I would *really* like them to quit creeping up the size of the files. It's out of control and unnecessary. I'm not printing billboards.
#3192
Creeping?? They are making increases in double digits of the percentage of the previous model.

Earth-bound misfit
Creeping as they put out new models, not necessarily within the same line. My 7D puts out 25-30+MP.

Apple adds photographic features for iOS5
Tuesday, 7 June 2011 00:54 GMT
Apple has announced details of the forthcoming versions of its iOS operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. With these devices ranking among the most used on popular photo-sharing sites, it comes as no surprise that several new features in iOS5 are specifically aimed at photographers. These including additional camera features for the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad2, such as the ability to overlay thirds gridlines, and wireless syncing of photographs between iOS devices using Apple's new iCloud service.
