I need to play around with this feature, maybe I don't "need" to buy a Tilt/Shift lens after all (note: I have near zero interesting in doing that "toy/miniature" effect of the t/s lens)

Software correction, while nice (and I use it frequently myself), is never going to be a true substitute for a T/S lens. This is because anytime you modify an image in these ways, you are losing information, you are bending, twisting, stretching and crimping pixels. And when you do this, you are losing detail. Whereas with a T/S lens, you are getting all of that information just as it looks in the viewfinder.
Can you get by with software correction? Sure. But if you are interested in the best quality possible for your work, and you are doing this kind of work, you would invest in a T/S lens.

Hasselblad set to launch world’s first medium format CMOS sensor camera
Hasselblad is set to launch the world's first 50MP medium format camera using CMOS sensor technology. The groundbreaking H5D-50c will go on sale in March.
Ove Bengtson, Hasselblad Product Manager said: "This pioneering 50 megapixel CMOS sensor camera is based on our H5D-50 model but will offer a faster capture rate; longer shutter speed capability and much greater ISO performance. It will provide greatly improved Live Video in Phocus and will also be available with Multi-Shot functionality."
He added: "We believe this will provide a highly compelling option for professional photographers who prefer a more versatile camera that enables them to immediately embrace a wider range of photo-disciplines but still encapsulating the exceptionally high-end image quality associated with Hasselblad."
Hasselblad's new CEO Ian Rawcliffe said: "We are extremely excited about this highly adaptable new camera which will offer an even broader palette of shooting options for our high-end customers.
"This is a world-first and underpins Hasselblad's status at the forefront of camera technology. It will be the first of a number of medium format capture innovations we have planned for the coming months."
Further information and prices for the new H5D-50c models will be announced in March.

the few times I played with a D800 and D600, I didn't cared for it. You have to hit the review button (which is normal for all cameras), but the to zoom in/out you have to hit the + or - buttons... I'm not sure how it's done with Canon cameras, but with Sony you just toggle the wheel to zoom in/out. If you have a body that's got dual wheels, one zooms in/out and the other toggles between photos. And you can do it all one handed

I think he was talking about just reviewing images tho - not zooming.
I'll have to see for myself the next chance I get.

I have to agree with that, he jumped ship just because of that reason doesn't sound rational to me. I think Canon probably gave him some $$

He also sites the AF and overall speed of the camera (1DX). idk…about that since I'll probably never even hold a 1DX or D4 for comparison.
He did say one thing that actually made sense to me. That canons seemed like they were designed by Apple. The very small experience I have with Nikons is that their menu system seems very complicated in comparison.
wtf do i know.

i have no experience with nikon cameras, but one time these 2 chicks asked me to help them figure out why their cam was only taking pics in B&W, it took me like 5 minutes digging thru the menu to find out how to turn it off.
#7182
Going to add....
I think Canon is actively pursuing other popular known photographers that shoot Nikon. Because they just lost a few highly acclaimed professional photographers, such as Seth Resnick. To fault of Canon's own bullshit..
Kelby reasons just seem limp compare to what Seth wrote about on his blog a few months back. It's worth a read....

Well it would, just as me helping someone with Canon, even though I shot Canon for years.

yeah, I went to a workshop once and a guy with a D7000 was completely lost, had the ISO on auto but it was a workshop for strobes (all his photos were coming out overexposed), anyways I was trying to simply set the ISO to 100 and took me quite awhile to figure out, not necessarily that the menu was bad, but simply because I wasn't familiar

I'm going to add, that I don't care about what Kelby shoots, it is a personal choice as to what all of us shoot. For the last six months, I've been shooting with a Fuji X along with my Nikon. I do it because I like it.
Just had a friend sell all of her Sony Alpha gear and switch to Fuji X last night. It was a personal choice. It's we all do for everything we use in our lives.
But saying its a personal choice when being given $$$ gear to make the change, seems a bit untruthful.

yea good teacher.
i just find it funny that people care so much what gear a good/great photographer uses.
its not like buying the exact same gear is going to instantly make you take the exact same pics

Update or Newer version. Saw the update on your link, it is to make it more compatible with other cameras and also its 2.7.
So a newer version would mean having to buy the software all over again I assume.

That was just the link to the dot upgrade for verison 2.
You won't have to pay the new price, just the upgrade price $79 to go to LR5

Wow, this is full premium version, with selective (paintbrush) edits, selective gradients, etc...

Thanks, just check my inbox, I would have normally just deleted it. Not a fan of their software, under the old version. I may never use it, ...but....
This is just for Effects, not the suite. But still not bad.
