Found a Flickr group that goes into some detail on a variety of techniques.

Some may find it too basic, but there is some good stuff here!

I had just picked up a used 85mm f1.4 (manual focus) lens, when I got home, I couldn't wait, so I just started talking pictures of the Ferrari in my building.

My most viewed isn't a good photo from a photography standpoint, but it holds value from a PJ standpoint, hence the attention.http://www.flickr.com/photos/ep_jhu/4452362570/http://www.flickr.com/photos/ep_jhu/4452362570/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/ep_jhu/, on Flickr

I think srika's most viewed would involve boobs and ass.

Do flashes start to lose their firing power over time? (not cheap ones, but higher end ones). I know with dSLRs, you can kinda get an idea of usage by it's actuation count, and even there, it doesn't always mean anything. But what about flashes? I know there's no way of telling how many times it's been fired, but suppose I was going to buy a used flash, and the seller is already the 2nd owner... should I be worried about how much it's been used?

haven't heard of it but looking it up, it's a 77mm Ultrasonic lens so one of Canon's nicer non-L lenses.

check out some of the reviews here:

well my personal experience, , they totally do. the recharge time on my old 580EX went down drastically over the 3 yrs I used it - to the point that it was no longer usable. (I tried new batteries on it and that didn't change anything). Had to get a new flash. So yes I would be wary of buying a used flash. I would suggest testing it out yourself, if possible, to check the flash recharge time. That will give a good indicator of how many times its been fired.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I'm just anticipating my trip back to California next week. I started going through the local Craigslist, because I absolutely refuse to pay for ANY camera gear here in Canada. Even used stuff in their local Craigslist is high

Presidential Speeches to Be Captured in Real Time… by a Single Photographer
  • Michael Zhang · Jun 01, 2011

The White House announced last month that it would be ending the long-running practice of reenacting Presidential speeches for photographs, but stated that they were still working out how the new system would work. Last week it reached an agreement with the White House Correspondents’ Association — rather than reenacting photos for a larger group of photographers, a single photojournalist will be given permission to shoot future speeches as they happen:
[...] news photographers will now be permitted to designate a single representative to act as a “pool” for the entire press corps. The photos taken by the pool representative will be made available to all news organizations. Reporters use a similar pool system for presidential events in which space is limited. [#]

not like all the other photo sharing sites will go away, this just adds an integrated photo feature. I'd guess lots of people will continue using whatever photo service they have been using.

Yup, and supposedly iOS 5 will have twitter integration built into it of some sort.

Probably just a photos option to send to twitter.

you'd be one of the best photographers in the country and have plenty of experience under your belt, you wouldn't be stressed out. it would be similar to how doctors react when a patient goes into cardiac arrest. stay calm and collected, get the job done.

Im at my sister's on her MBP (13.3") - and I'm ready to take a sledgehammer to this trackpad. just horrible, I don't see how I could ever get used to it. The 'right-click' area seems to move around randomly; I'm getting a right-click menu at random times (???) and since there are no dedicated buttons its super easy to fudge your clicking with highlighting text or using scrollbars and whatnot, my god this thing is HORRIBLE - and all I'm doing is casual web browsing. give me 2 (or even 3 like on the Lenovo) DEDICATED buttons, can't stand when the trackpad also has a button built-in (always disable tap-to-click on PC laptops) - its one of the most inaccurate forms of navigation ever invented. ok i feel better now lol. If I had this an external multi-button mouse would be a MUST, I could never use this thing.

/mac rant for the day

oh. i guess thats that "pinch to zoom" "feature". good for certain applications, annoying for web pages. I can't scroll the page using the trackpad but I can zoom it?????

the trackpad does seem quite accurate in terms of pointing, though. too bad the button operations and sensitivity kill it.

the trackpad on the macs are WAAAAY better then any other trackpad/button combo.

im guessing you're just doing it wrong, your second finger does alot of commands since it is multi-touch. gotta watch where its hanging when you use the trackpads on macs.
