added a bag to my collection.
a bit on the large size, but I went with what fit me best and was most comfortable with 20lbs in it. Now Im just trying to decide the safest way to load the camera gear in it.
The old Burton Zoom 28L will now just be the dedicated pack mule to and from and when Im on road trips looking for opportunities.

Didn't want to start a new thread about this. I am going to New York next week. I was wondering if camera's are allowed in flights? I really want to take some pics up there...lol

they're allowed, just don't look conspicuous doing it.
I've even taken photos with P&S during the "all electronics off" time with no problem

yeah, the inlaws weekend house is in the mountains, so I needed a good pack so I can bring the camera with me on the hikes we often take. I also needed a camelbak since I sweat like Yumcha watching a small child roughly play with a robot.
My Lowepro Nova 200 fits perfectly in the bottom of the pack, so that is going to be my most cost effective solution to carry a body and two lens' theres plenty of options for lashing my tripod to the outside as well.

I havent thought about it since my last trip at the begining of July, it was then that I started to wonder if an ND filter would help me where the CPL wouldnt. I thought about it thursday, and was supposed to leave today for vacation, so ordering one was out.
I stopped into my local camera shop Hunt Photo and Video this morning, their flagship store is 5 minutes from me. I was hoping to get a screw on 77MM in the 3-4 stop range. He comes back with the only things he has, 2 crap Tiffens and an even worse Promaster. FAIL. Didnt even have any Cokins when I then asked to go that route

You could always order from amazon.com and ship to where you'll be.

yeah, the thing is, this is a huge place thats pretty big online too. I thought about having it shipped here, but not knowing the UPS driver up here I dont want to end up with it not delivered because I wasnt here to sign for it. I finally got up here last night, Ive never noticed any camera shops, but Im gonna check if there are any. Its not the end of the world, Ive been shooting up here for 2-3 years without one

whoa! Sony pulls a punch today!
Sony Debuts Four Powerful New Cameras; Two Alpha DSLRs and Two NEX Models
Sony has just launched four new digital cameras, all of which are impressive to say the least. The most notable of the four is the long awaited successor to the popular A700, the all new SLT-A77. This amazing camera boasts various World firsts, including the World's first 24.3-megapixel APS-C Exmor HD CMOS image sensor, the World's first camera capable of 12fps at full 24M resolution, and the World's first 3-way articulating 3.0-inch LCD screen. If that wasn't already enough to get your attention, the A77 offers a wealth of exposure options, a rugged weather resistant magnesium-alloy frame, new AVCHD progressive video options (1080/60p or 24p), as well as a new 19-point AF system with 11 cross-type sensors. See our SLT-A77 Preview for more details.
Next is the SLT-A65, which is Sony's top of the line "entry-level" SLT camera; which replaces the SLT-A55. This camera shares a similar body configuration to the A77, just a bit smaller. It's features are a mix from the A55, and the A77. It shares the same 24.3-megapixel sensor and BIONZ processor, as found on the A77, with slightly slower max. burst rate of only 10fps at 24M. It carries over the same rotating 3.0-inch LCD and 15-point AF system from the A55, however most all of its other features are similar to the A77. Click Here to see our SLT-A65 Preview.
The NEX-7 is the current "big dawg" in the NEX lineup. This camera offers a sophisticated rangefinder look and feel, with all the bells and whistles you expect from a Sony camera. This model shares the same 24.3-megapixel APS-C Exmor HD CMOS sensor and BIONZ processor found in the A77, along with 10fps burst shooting at full res, a 3.0-inch LCD, a wicked new OLED EVF with 2.5 million dots, and a built-in, pop-up flash unit; with the latter two features being firsts for the NEX line. This looks to be one awesome EVIL camera, so shoot on over to our NEX-7 Preview page for more details.
Lastly, Sony unveiled two new NEX cameras; the NEX-5N and the NEX-7. The NEX-5N is sort of an updated NEX-5, however it's more than that. While you would think it replaced the NEX-5, that's not what Sony says. This model offers a newly designed body that still has that same classy look first seen on the NEX-5, an all new 16-megapixel APS-C Exmor HD CMOS image sensor, 10fps burst at full resolution, a tilting 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD, and a revamped GUI. You can find out more about this sweet unit on our NEX-5N Preview page.

I'm surprised at getting questions from people on flickr about where I shot certain images. When just about everything you need to know is written out or in the tags.

I'm noticing this at other boards. It's like a blatant disregard for the effort to find out more about a photo. Such as asking about EXIF info when the link to flickr is right there. It really says "I am too lazy and/or don't care enough to click my mouse twice to find more out about your photo myself". pretty annoying.

What annoys me is how people will post a picture say...in a "85mm f1.4 group" a picture that was taken with a different lens (like a 50mm).

okay, so... I've been hesitating to upgrade my flickr account to "Pro" status because I really don't need to... but since it keeps telling me NOT to worry about my old pictures because they are still there (I just can't see them), I just have to upgrade and I get them back. I was kinda curious about my old photos, I couldn't remember what I had uploaded in the past, perhaps there are some of my dad () so I gave in today and upgraded... and NO old pictures? Am I missing something? Is there a way to retrieve them that I don't know about?

I only have 172 pics... They are the same pictures before I upgraded
I went to the "Help" section, and got this:
but yet, after upgrading... no old pics
I went to the "Help" section, and got this:
On a free account, Flickr limits the number of photos displayed.
If you have fewer than 200 photos, we display them all. If you have more than 200 photos, only the most recent 200 are displayed.
Your photos are not removed from Flickr, only from the list of your photos. If you blogged a photo and it no longer appears in your list, it will still appear on your blog, and the photo's Flickr page will still work just fine.
If some of your photos aren't showing up, don't panic! Just upload some fresh ones. Or upgrade to a Pro Account.

With having a free account, I think those are gone when going free to pro, but if you go pro to free and then back to pro. They would still be there.

if anyone interested, a friend of mine is selling his pretty much brand new D7000 for $950.
he's the kind of person who buys something fancy and then realized he wasn't using it either because he wasn't interested anymore or because he couldn't get it to do what he wanted (most likely the former). I think that's a pretty good deal.
