Anyone ever experiment with high speed sync? I know this is a bad example and normally would have not shot this using HSS, but it was a class assignment. It was really underexposed and had to crank up the PP.

^ good job getting the whole frame illuminated!
Here is a great article I found about HSS.
http://pixsylated.com/2008/11/simple...gh-speed-sync/
Basically while giving you greater control over the shutter speed, you lose a lot ofo the power from the flash since it is actually bursting not continuously "shinning" for the set duration.

all work and no play
heres a couple from my first trip to NH of the year this past week. I didnt dare try for anything more than the walkup shot of the waterfall since it was 5:30am and there wasnt anyone else around to save my stupid ass if anything happened on the slippery rocks.
The cascades I was able to move all over on though.
Glenn Ellis Falls, Pinkham Notch NH
Cascades in Carters Notch, Jackson NH

all work and no play
Drigo, just the CPL...only one I have. I did notice some shortcomings in my gear this trip, I need to get some ND's and GND's along with a 70-200, there were some missed shots....and some that I framed in my head but didnt have the reach for. First time that has happened for me. I actually had to go back and reshoot all the cascade pictures, sunrise happens too early at this time of year for me, and I discovered that place while just scouting around at about 6:30am, light was too harsh when I went to process them.
#5 is my favorite as well.

I obviously have to work on the edges. But, first attempt at an "HDR" Look Tutorial.
Anyone have any experience with HDR in GIMP? I get the 3 exposure settings, but what do you do in the post processing to make it pop? This pic just turned out interesting looking but not "HDR"....
