Yes, pretty cool, I remember doing this a the Georgia Aquarium, I could have stayed there for hours. But there was so much more to see.

alright, thats all for now - I pretty much specifically went today just for this event, so it was nice to spend the time there. sometimes its nice to have a limited timeframe, it makes you efficient - I only spent about 70 mins there and got 360 shots -

straight through, no filter. I didn't have any issues with the glass. i.e. no reflections, even straight on. I think it's because the exhibit was setup really nice with dim ambient lighting -

So here's an interesting and random thing. I took this photo 2+ years ago:

Today it was used in a local blog (DCist), and the subject in the photo commented on the photo! I love it when that happens! It's the third time a stranger I photograph finds themselves on my photostream

I was playing around with shutter speeds on my camera and got this...I can't get over how the lights came out...

This was leaving the ISO at 200 and flash off

I didn't even know my camera has a 20x zoom function...Granted it's grainy, I couldn't believe I was able to zoom in this much. My talents are beneath all of you, as I'm using a lowly compact digital camera (Canon SD980 IS).

Don't let the type of camera you have fool you. I took some shots that I once thought were crap, but turned out to be very memorable for me and my wife using a dinky 5mp Pentax Camera (Optio SV) ... Here is one of them which I've posted before.

I assume that's the digital zoom (not optical) that's why it's so grainy. You can achieve the same basic thing by cropping an image once it's on the camera.

like the shot of the boat and the statue of liberty too. could use a little straightening, but nice capture.

Even with cropping on a camera like that, you're going to have a poor image. Whether you zoom in with a digital zoom and get grain, or crop into an image and poor IQ ,because the sensor really isn't made for it.

Thanks dude, coming from you that means a lot.

Here's another shot from that same park we visited... something about the lush green grass is what I liked about this one.

IIRC, I didn't modify either of these in photoshop, other than resizing for obvious reasons, the images are the same as I originally took them.
