One of a few shots I took for some hardware for sale.

Not bad for a EF lens mounted via an adapter to a Panasonic GH1 (new toy i recently picked up for video. My other camera is a Rebel XT).

Story is Veilside themselves called out this car and wanted it be painted white for SEMA. Found out during dinner, that it was intentional that they put an rx7 veilside fortune kit in FAST 6....

Every time I creep in this thread, I notice how much of an amateur I am when it comes to photography.

I need to take some lessons or read a book.

Amazing shots, every one of them.

I have lightroom. I just don't know what I should be doing to make the photos better. All photos below are unedited and never processed. Straight from memory card.

just 10 photos I liked. The lady is my wife. The scrub in the first two photos are me. I'd appreciate any pointers on ways I can get the most out of my shots in pp using LR.

Here are some tweaking that I did.

1. Lowered Exposure because it was definitely overexposed
2. Up the Contrast cause it usually makes overexposed images look better
3. Lowered Highlights for blown out places like the reflection on the Suzuki motor and a bit on her face
4. Lowered the Blacks because some areas were still overexposed but didn't want to adjust the whole image
5. Up Clarity to make it "look" sharper
6. Up Vibrance to bring out more colors in the background
7. Not shown in here because I forgot but I lowered the Orange under Saturation to -16 because using Vibrance made her skin a lot more orange

Hope all that helped.

I was second shooter at a wedding on Friday - a tough one as the wedding party was tired and it was cold out so we could not get them organized and setup for shots. I creeped on my first shooters setup and snapped this one. My lighting was bad so the shot lacked detail but with this dark kinda process I think it kinda works...

First off, what i do in LR is check for exposure as mdkxtreme did but i do mines differently.

1. Shoot Raw if you don't already.

2a. if you shoot with a wide angle or fish eye usually i hit the lens correction first before anything since it adds stops of exposure most of the time

2b. If you hold down Alt(i think its option on macs) and press on exposure, recovery,or black. you can see if your picture is underexposed or overexposed. Bumping it up to where it starts to come out is what i do, maybe sometimes a little more if i think its still underexposed.

3. Most of the time i just add a lil bit of clarity, but don't touch the vibrance and saturation.

4. if you go to detail and go to luminance. that will help if the picture has noise, it won't save a horrible pic but it will help if say you used auto iso and it went too high for your liking.

i could go on and on about post production workflow but its just too much to type. i highly recommend watching these videos here. Its with LR3. even though its may be a older than LR4 but it will give you some type of basis on what people look for in post production.
