Megane electric orders just starting. French not stupid. they started with Plug-In hybrids. now transitioning to BEV. They have very competent Automotive industry. look at there Mergers and Acquisitions.
The reason for chip shortage in US. as Elon in his infinite wisdom has built a factory in Silicon valley in California. It has sucked all the skilled labor and all the stock market gains without investing in Fabs.
There is not much increase in Chinese car prices and they hardly face chip shortages when you look Honda managed to sell 148K vehicles in October. Honda sells Plug in and Electrics in China. they use much higher chip content than Honda of America.

Elon has already started backpedaling on LiDAR. Under/over for when his nuthuggers follow suit, proclaiming this was the plan all along?

News flash, people were driving in thick fog even before Elon was born. Accidents do happen, but most of the people made out of the fog alive.
That 1 video does not prove anything.
I have driven through Thick fog + heavy rain + freezing temperature + curve + steep downhill AKA nights during winter months @ Cajon pass, I would trust my eye and my human judgement than any shit from Elon Musk.
I for one will NEVER use autopilot in those conditions...

Edit: The fog in that video isn't even bad. The car has no problem seeing through it just as any human would be able to.

There are conditions where autopilot and FSD flat out won't even give you the option to engage them. Snow, heavy rain, heavy fog, etc and it'll lock itself out. The new version of FSD is horribly flawed, tons of people (real ones, not twitter fucktards) are disabling it for fear of it crashing them into a curb. Random phantom braking, can't handle a right turn smoothly, doesn't see some cross traffic, roundabouts are pretty much impossible, etc. Lots of comments that it's dangerous on city streets. It's not ready for the real world. Getting closer, but not nearly close to being there.

When i re-read that shit again, it made me LOL again
I had to drive through Fog in the mountain that literally feels like i am driving with a white wall 2 feet in front of me... just have to keep a very very very long distance from the car ahead of you and turn up all the sensitivity levels on all of the driving assistance stuff and hoping the car behind you do the same.
Turn on FSD or Autopilot or even TESTING it in those condition will not even cross my mind...

But according to them that was done in Autopilot. not FSD.

At the end of the day, FSD and/or AP cannot see better than you can. It's a camera that views in the visible light spectrum so it can see the exact same thing as your eyes do. These are the idiots that told me that the cameras are redundant only for me to prove them wrong because I actually own one and tried it. Now if only they had a radar sensor for that dense fog...

If anything, that is more scary. Not only you have to pay 100% attention to the road, cuz you never know when the car will do something weird. Now you also have to worry about correcting things that you normally would not have to.

Dozens of owners posted on social media about seeing an error message on the mobile app that was preventing them from connecting to their vehicles.
Tesla chief executive Elon Musk personally responded to one complaint from a driver in South Korea, saying on Twitter: "Checking."
Mr Musk later said the app was coming back online.
The Tesla app is used as a key by drivers to unlock and start their cars.
Owners posted a multitude of complaints online about not being able to use their vehicles.
"I'm stuck an hour away from home because I normally use my phone to start [my] car," one owner tweeted.
About 500 users reported an error on the app at around 16:40 ET (21:40 GMT) on Friday, according to the outage tracking site DownDetector. Five hours later, there were just over 60 reports of an error.
"Apologies, we will take measures to ensure this doesn't happen again,"

App outage locks hundreds of Tesla drivers out of cars
"About 500 users reported they faced an error at about 4.40pm ET (9.40pm GMT), according to outage monitoring website Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a series of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform...Stuart Masson, editor of the Car Expert website, told the BBC that Tesla drivers were not entirely reliant on the app. “There will be a secondary mechanism to get in or out of the car beyond the app, the difficulty will come for drivers if they are not carrying it,” he said."

Word through the grapevine is that version 10.5 of FSD is much improved over the previous versions. People are still not trusting of it to drive on its own without substantial supervision though. One guy (who owns a MS Plaid and a MX and has a MX Plaid on order) has said that AP is better than FSD in almost every way and the radar version of AP is better than vision only.

Why not all of them? Probably toss Rivian and Lucid into that mix too. Also add in Bezos.
It's certainly surprising what you find when you ask real owners of their experience/opinions on a product and not exclusively listen to twitter shills.

Tesla offers free supercharging for all cars during off peak hours of holidays.
What a way to reduce congestion at superchargers and avoid traffic!!!
Presently it’s only limited to select routes California but I guess they could easily do that all over USA if needed.
Would any gas stations do that…?
Or even any third party EV chargers while we are at it ….?

I will be flying using FUEL!!! Unless we are talking about 2am to 5am, otherwise there is NO off peak hours during holiday travels, especially from LA to Vegas.
I have absolutely 0 interest in sitting in traffic for hrs 0 emission or not... then go wait in line at the supercharging station.
