V6 is nose heavy than 4 cylinder models. so handling is not good. only SH-AWD can balance it.

TLX likely to have more upscale interior, electronics, better heat and noise insulation, longer warranty/Acura customer service and unique shape. far better than padesterian Accord.
Accord simply does not have the finishing of acura.

Because as of late, they have had better performance, handling and looks. They arent the Caddy of the 80s and 90s anymore.

like it or not, your comment was incorrect and I don't think it was a fair assessment of the situation.

fact is, acura can "design a vehicle that people want to buy more than the competition", specifically, the mdx/rdx. so no, your comment was technically incorrect.

The CTS is actually priced a bit below the 5/E when comparably equipped, but is close in ATP likely due to a higher % of buyers opting for a higher trim like the CTS V-Sport; when the CTS-V launches, the ATP for the CTS will increase.

And why buy a Caddy/CTS?

B/c for someone who is looking for a midsize sports sedan, the CTS is it (now that the 5 Series got large and fat), esp. the CTS V-Sport (until the CTS-V launches).

So?

This is Cadillac's 1st attempt at a proper RWD midsize luxury sedan in our lifetime and right off the bat, it's outselling the A6, GS and M (nevermind the TL/RLX) and at a higher ATP - and they have had generations to garner sales.

Not going to dethrone the 5/E in a day.

LOL!

A European, Australian, etc. would have a confused look w/ that statement.

Well, technically, the RX and SRX outsell the MDX (and Lincoln is readying a new MKX) and the competition doesn't yet have an RDX competitor (will soon arrive w/ the MKC and NX).

We'll see how Acura's CUVs fare w/ some real competition.

Clearly he was being specific to the sedan devision of Acura... that's what people have been talking about for 230+ pages now.

Lets all take a step back from thread, breathe and come back when there's TLX news to discuss. Or, keep it on topic.

...someone said that the "luxury" brand Mazda is preparing an MPS version of the 3 series with a 2.5 engine, around 300 hp and AWD system...
Mazda. Not Acura, that just cannot stop a moment trolling around everybody.
Acura is too smart for such a step for the TLX or the ILX...: they are already too much sporty and exhilarating to drive.

I haven't really thought of this, but since Acura is combining the TSX and TL into the TLX, I now realized that when the TLX finally releases, it is going to be the only Acura sedan on the road (since the RLX and ILX really don't count as they don't sell) that we see most of the time.

In a bizarro world, when you step into the Acura dealer, all they will have on the showroom for you to choose from is a TLX or MDX! (RDX gets an honorable mention but Acura can't handle too many successful vehicles at once.)

Acura, specializing in nothing and exciting no one.

Things are pretty gloom and doom at the local Acura dealership. They're feining optimism about the TLX, but it just feels like they're defeated. It's also impossible to navigate through to service in the back because so many RLX and ILXs are parked in the lot.

Surprisingly, I see a fair amount of RLX & ILX around here. Not as much as TL & TSX, but more than I'd expect. I'm not sure how much of it is seeing the same car multiple times, but more than expected.

I've spotted like 2 RLX and 3 ILX for the past 3 years in LA.

I live in an area of LA (diamond bar) that loves a reliable, smart luxury vehicle, but I haven't seen a RLX once. Seen an ILX 2 or 3 times since its been released but that car is rare away from the Acura lot. Lexus, BMW, and Benz sedans seem to be the luxury vehicles of choice.

You know I wouldn't miss Acuras either....the power plenum is designed to grab your attention...

no...the fact is that ILX and RLX are halo cars, as the P1 or La Ferrari... not for everyone...
