Although I hate the exhaust-less look, that wouldn't stop me from buying the car, if the car performs well. I'm sure there will be multiple vendors that will jump on the car to build aftermarket CBE that will show in the back.
But I do agree that it looks weird without any tips.

Exactly, this is Acurazine we're talking about. It's impossible to avoid getting the itch to mod your car. An exhaust, or pseudo exhaust-look would be available mighty quick if I were to guess, because of the demand many people would probably have for it. A good looking exhaust tip set up can really set off the look of a car from the rear.

But one will also need to cut up the rear bumper nicely in order to make any stickout tip look good.

Hope those rear park sensors aren't gonna stick out from the bumpers like the taped portion seems to indicate. Looks awfully cheap. Surely they could've made it flush?
Overall, the TLX looks good. I see a lot of the Accord in the profile still, so it can both be a good and bad thing. I still think the current Accord is the most handsome family sedan out there.
Now, V6, 6MT, SH-AWD and folding rear seats and I would seriously give this car a look when it comes time for a replacement down the road....

I hope bolt pattern stays at 114.3 and like someone said, looks like the trunk lid can accommodate the Euro plates.

it really is too bad they are dropping the prototype's side mirrors.
I personally feel Acura lacks that unique single feature/aesthetic component, and I think those mirrors could've been it. The moving LED's look so amazing and futuristic to me. The design is sleek.
Sorta like Audi's/Aston Martin's LED accent lighting in the headlight assembly or the M fender grilles, or angel eyes, etc. Hope you guys get what I mean.
My hope is that a couple years down the road, they put out the Type-S and consider throwing in some of what they dropped from the prototype.

+1, it's pre-production so more than likely some of the plastics are not final yet. Probably all of the sheet metal is however, sometimes they modify/change the plastic tooling. But metal tooling takes alot of EDM and time.

Aside from the side mirrors, rear bumper, and rims, things seem to match the concept. The tape is right where the "character lines" are, so I guess they are still there, just concealed under the tape and while it's hard to tell, it looks to me like the C pillar area retains the same outline.

Unfortunately this is the production form for rear bumper, so no cut outs for now.

How are you going to get aftermarket exhaust with that bumper?
and why does the rear look more and more like ILX rear?

Acura is hung up on the "corporate" beak front end, and now it appears the same for the rear ends.
They will all look very similar.

Couldn't disagree more but looks are subjective and shouldn't be argued. Sales will tell the ultimate story. I don't think the TLX's styling will turn many away. Even if its a bit on the boring side (TBD) But will it lure any new customer's in? That's the question.

To lure new customers in, TLX needs more than just looks.
The question Acura should be asking is, why do they have to do to the TLX for people to choose TLX over its competitors? Whoever says MPG gets banned!
Just because TLX is better than 4G TL is just not enough.

I find none of them bland, well maybe BMW minus the M line. So you are saying the A3/A4 look like the A7 or A8?? The A4 and A6 are about the closest in resemblance yet you can easily tell the difference from any angle. Its ok to have a "corporate" image of some sorts but to make it pretty much the whole car and not just a part of the car

That said, i think current Hondas have more distinction and style than Acuras of late. It seems as though Honda is trying to pull away and distinguish themselves as not Acura when it really should be the other way around

i think the new 3 and 5 series base (without lines) are very boring looking.
But when you offer exciting cars like M line, Diesel M sport, M.. then you can afford to offer some bland looking cars. Choices are always good. same for Audi and Lexus.
When your whole entire luxury lineup is bland, then that is when you cannot lure more customers in.

Picture is a thousand words but the German sedan family styling are very evident.
If Acura had these lineups many in this thread would be trashing it also.
BMW invented this family styling concept with the 3/5/7 in the late 70's and they carry it today.
Has worked out very well for them too.
