To bad the wheel gap won't be like that and the wheels won't be that flush to the fenders. They still have plenty of chance to ruin it.

Yes, lets hope the production version is 98% of that.

8spd DCT for the supposed high revving 2.4L and 9spd auto for the 3.5L DI with PAWS or SHAWD. I'm glad they added a little spice to the powertrain options. I wonder if the 6MT is dead?

Overall, it looks good.... aside from the front fascia. The side profile looks good. The rear looks good.

It's like they combined the RLX, Accord, and ILX into one car.

Judging by the price of the terrible ILX, $45,000 might not be a stretch at all.

I would assume the base would be like $34,000?

I hate that he joked about a wagon being under there.

Alot of us would love for a true wagon in the JDM style.
But to those accountants who call the shots it will never be. Unless..... We gotta steal Bob Lutz and get him over to acura!

I do like the red. I hope they offer more colors with the SH-AWD version. Black, graphite, white, and silver is not really a good offering of choices as they do currently. EDIT: Well for 6MT version. Blue and red are available for SH-AWD non-6MT.

Looks good...but, is it fair to say it is not mind-blowing given what the competition has shown so far?

But, it's not bad.

Looks like the Acura designers discovered how to use french curves and modelling clay properly

My only negative is a little too much chrome trim

Is it a reflection or does it look like running lights are also on the side mirrors?

i had apparently incorrectly assumed that the DCT would be on BOTH cars; are we saying that the more powerful v6 gets a regular slushbox and only the base 2.4 (TSX replacement) model gets a DCT? i guess i had initially understood that both transmissions would be DCT.

i'm assuming no 6MT

It's probably a little early to be drawing conclusions about the production version.

So is this a straight up 5 series/E class/A6 competitor now? Or does it still slot somewhere in between a 3/5 series, C/E class, and A4/A6?

Almost feel as excited about 5G TL as I did back in the day after looking at the 3G TL concept at NYIAS

i dont know about drawing conclusions - all the press material seems to refer to the transmissions as 8 speed DCT, and 9 speed auto

Wondering what kind of power that 2.4 will be putting out......I doubt its more than 205 or so which is a big mistake IMO.

Also worthy to note that its 3.8 inches shorter than the TL with the same wheelbase.

Agreed! i definitely get little bits of 3G TL in the design; esp in the front. the headlights are more 3G TL than they are anything else, except for the jewel eye of course. i think they finally figured out that the 3G TL was their best looking model and they needed to evolve from THAT, not the 4G monstrosity.

sadly, looking like 6MT may have seen their last hurrah in the 2014 models

Not too bad! I am pleased, not exhilirated, but very happy with it. It kind of reminds me of the Lexus GS except better. I'm not sure why they keep calling it low and wide. It's not really that low or wide looking.
