The more I look it, it's like looking at an evolved 3g. It might not have an exterior that screams "hey look at me!!!" It's more calm and refreshing, with new wheels & body kit will do the TLX justice.

On occasion I'll get the "hey idiot turn off your highbeams" flash from an oncoming driver, but it's pretty rare

Yes! The jewel headlights on the RLX are exceptionally bright and light up the roadway very well. Better than any car I've driven and gives you a solid sense of confidence and direction when driving at night.

OSTRICH....Guilty and BUSTED!! I just hope they will offer this plate as an accessory because quite honestly, that is what replaces the sexiness lacking after taking teh dual exhausts (lol)

I am liking the front of the car, of course a ronjon grille finishes it, the back is OK, but wish it were more in line with the 3G shape, but from the front and back (a little) you can can see the 3G evolution. I am eager to test drive one. Stopped at my dealer today and they have no news and no cars left on the lot other than a few RLXs.

So it seems like the looks have grown on some of us, especially in the colors of white and silver. I can't wait for the reviews. Looks is one thing, but how it drives is another thing.
I always hated the looks of the 4g TL, that is until i drove one at a test drive event. I drove the FWD version and i loved it, i walked into a dealership and drove the SH-AWD and was impressed even more. Over time the exterior grew on me. Every once in a while i'll look at my car, and at certain angles i hate it, and at other angles i love it.
I feel that way with the TLX, but so far i've seen more pictures that i love more so than hate. Driving it will be another story though.

^^ I am pretty confident that many of us will be impressed with how it drives...I have never been displeased with the driving dynamics of an Acura. The SH-AWD will be as good, if not better, the transmission are supposed to be better, especially the 8 speed...the single most likely point of failure in the ride experience will be if they put those stupid dampers from Sachs.
Even I have to admit that I am pretty sure that seeing the car in person will change my perception of the vehicle. I LOVE my 4G although, like you, certain angles makes it look weird (especially its ass), but from others, I am still lusting! The TLX will be a nice vehicle but will not have the same emotions for me...I could be wrong....Can't Acura release some pics with a TLX with accessories. For god sake....give us something!

The high beams are very effective. I'll try to get a couple of shots with them on versus off. Some nice woodsy winding roads in my neighborhood will make for good comparison shots.
I do know that the RLX has a different design for the jewel LED lights versus the MDX/TLX. The RLX has dual rows of jewels and its a different configuration/layout with a 4 "small" to 1 "large" jewel. This is different from the single row / single size 5 jewel design in the MDX/TLX. So what you see in my shots may not translate to the same brightness and coverage you'd get with the MDX/TLX design.

I would agree in general, but the fact they they have said the SH-AWD will not handle any different than the FWD models makes me nervous as I hated the 4G FWD ride. My only hope is that they do a Type-S before MMC. I will probably be in my A6 for another year and will then be looking for a switch. If there is no Type-S then I will be looking at going back to Infiniti, or maybe the 15 Genesis sedan.

KeithL.....I think what they mean is that the FWD with the P-AWS will go a long way to improve the current FWD feel to mimick much closer, the feel of the SH-AWD. As you know, some RLX owners have commented on how precise and agile the P-AWS truly is.
Sure, it's not (nor will it ever be) as agile as a torque vectoring AWD system but for people that aren't pushing their vehicle to the limit and do not need an AWD system (people not driving their car in the rain or snow....I am sure there are nut cases like that out there), then for these people, having a FWD vehicle that handle maybe like 85-90% of what the SH-AWD does maybe excellent news.
We all know that Acura has been flamed for having FWD cars only....if they can have a TLX that doesn't have a FWD feel, that will be amazing for them. So rather than thinking they made their SH-AWD drive like a FWD, I am thinking they did the opposite, made their FWD drive (and feel) more like an AWD.
BTW....To all Acurazine members that are fathers.....Happy Fathers day to all of you!!

Watch the first 2 minutes of this video and he mention it:
He mentions how the 4GAWD was kinda the Type-S replacement, but they are not tuning the AWD 5G any different than the V6 FWD this time. My guess is the ave rag people that bought 4G AWD for bad weather complained of the firm ride. The only hopeful out of this is that they will do a Type-S at some point.

/\ During the first 60 seconds of the video, when Mat Hargett is talking about SH-AWD not being a replacement for the Type S, Mat seemed a little uncomfortable and nervous.
He said the V6 is more for comfort and refinement, in terms of "powertrain and suspension."
Based on this video I suspect the TLX V6 SH-AWD will be less sporty in character than the 4G TL SH-AWD, while the TLX 4 cylinder with the DCT will be the sportier version.

I hope what he meant was that, the V6 suspension is a bit more compliant. I love my 2012 TL SH-AWD. I love the sporty ride and everything. However, I do have to say that the suspension could absorb uneven surfaces on the road just a little bit better, like BMW does. I HOPE that is what he meant....
I guess the bottom line is, we need to test-drive the car ourselves!!! Hopefully, that won't be too long.

I would love to know who in Acura decided that not showing the exhaust was a good idea for their vehicles across the board LOL! What on earth were they thinking.... going from the quad exhaust (which I loved!) on the original 4G TL to NOT showing it at all. What a terrible decision.
Would the Acura designer/engineer please stand up and let us know who you are!? LOL

Nice picture even though I still think silver is the real color for this car. White uncovers any imperfections aligning panels etc. Obviously this looks like it was taken from a commercial or a video clip or photo shoot...
so where is the rest?
PS. In post- they added too much sharpness to the image, maybe they wanna take it easy with the post editing.

I too was perplexed about the lack of exhaust tips in the beginning.
However, the thought did arise, how much do exhaust tips weigh?
I'm wondering if the engineers all were in a conference room with a huge whiteboard during the design phase and were asked to list ALL of the things they can save weight on.
Spare Tire
Exhaust tips
Shrink overall length and overhang
More aluminum in chassis
etc.
I'm thinking they added weight with the additional insulation to make the car quieter and to maximize weight savings the exhaust tips didnt make the cut
