Uh, can you say Pollen and can you say birds? They like to show their appreciation! I also live around a bunch of trees and flowers (botanical stuff that you might like, but makes me sneeze! ) that are all caught up in sewing their royal oats! (pollination)

Plus damn it looks good afterwards...for a few hours...Hahahahahahaha!!

I prefer this look as it's not a toal blackout, the reflector remains functional, and you get a cool black chrome contrast going on.

Darksom,
My upper grill would look very similar to this:

Definitely not a big fan of the mesh behind the bar thing, especially for NBP! Looks way too busy! But for WDP, because of the lighter car, you may have a good temporary fix for the mesh. THEN GET ON WITH THE CUTTING AFTER YOU TRY THIS!!! LOL!

Speaking of side-tracked...where is Buda with the daytime pics of the new grill? I really wanted to see what that looked like. Buda are you still around? I know he is supposed to be busy with moving and what not.

I'm still around and extremely busy. I'll see what I can do about getting some day time pics up. This grill mod is a real chameleon, it looks way different depending on the type of light it's in.

Just for opinions guys...What color grille mesh would look best on Anthacite? Silverish or Black? I'm thinking black?

Thought so, black it is! Still need a few tools replaced..... I plan to have the car parked and I'm pulling the front end off for a couple days so I can do everything at once.....clearing the headlights, lower grilles, LED turn signals etc. I am planning the feasability of angel-eyes and 07 foglamps that's the hangup at the moment...Enuff talk outta me about this. Gotta get some pics up here soon!

Are you doing your lower grilles the same way I did mine? LED turn signals too huh? Do you have the resistors already? I can see those tools breaking a sweat in Chi-town!

My purpose for doing my grille the way I did it was to achieve a blacked out look, that was complimented with chrome accents. Possibly the last piece to that look (other than the later purchase of some bad ass chrome/black rims) will come tomorrow morning when I tint this bad boy! I will post pics of the completed look then in a new thread (if my car isn't dirty Steve)!

You know what else I was thinking? That it is not a good idea to go with the painted grille look. I see a lot of people on here that complain about chipping and flaking! I wonder if that is because of the kind of paint they use? I am glad I did the mesh look instead of opting for the non-cut mod!

Thunder (that's his name) IS NOT NBP! Don't even go there my friend!

A far as the grill chipping, I haven't had this problem at all. I think it's because my paint guy did a "legit" job. I mean, he had my car for the entire day to do it; he pulled off the bumper and painted the grill independently from the rest of the car. Not a single chip on there. Same goes for the lower grills.

I forgot the exact date of my paint job (it's stored in my TL's calendar, though!), but I'm guessing that it's gonna be OK because real car paint was applied, no spray paint or some other cheesy crap.

That is my concern as well - I've seen a bunch of posts where they painted the grills or some part in front and now it looks like crap.

If anything I'll have it done by a professional like brett did.

OFF TOPIC:

Disclaimer: NO LAB ANIMALS WERE ENDANGERED IN THIS EXPERIMENT!!!

Guess what happened to me today? I was riding down I-270, just minding my own biz, and over 2 lanes to the right flashed a 3G WDP! I was coming up my lane (I can tell his ass saw me) and then he swerved between a truck and two cars and jumped in front of me - in MY lane! You know what I said right? Aw hell to da naw!! Tis base infamy must needs be dealt with, and yon charlatan put to task! In other words, I was about to get medieval on dat ass!

So I move over two lanes to the right where he came from and opened up the CAI, and let it talk to him! He heard it, and he stepped on his lil two-tone (cuz o' da paint) WDP, and tried to make a go of it! You know your resident NBP'er was not going for that! I punched it, we were rolling and coming up on traffic about a 1/4 ml up the road or less! That's when your boy downshifted, really let that blue AEM scream, hit the open seam, and left that wanna-be NBP WDP about 10 car lengths behind stuck in traffic! The nerve of his ass thinking I was all "show" and no tell!! I don't run on the regular...but I can!!
True story! Ya better ask somebody!

Moral of the story is: No two cars are alike...not even TLs dammit!

YOU MAY NOW RETURN TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM!!

^-- and here comes Buda with the save to get back on topic

Here are some pics. To give you an idea of how this looks in different lighting conditions the first pic is in low light and the rest are in daylight. The "V" trim is still othe EOM trim. I have not had time to install the black chromed piece yet.

Low light pic: I wish it looked like this in the day light

Buda, does the chroming process match the black chrome of the TL-S tails?
