Ok, how about a couple of these? And a BIG shout goes out to Sean, John (<<<2 different people), Tyler and Austin for the lense recommendation. WOW...for purposes of showing what it can do I did NO touchup on these. Canon 50MM F1.8 Lense:

Ok, this a good example of what the lense focuses on depending on where you place the focal point
car focal

mid focal

grass focal

Bokeh (?!?!, if not, don't kill me Sean)

Now, just some nice angles of the car...again, untouched so bear with the fact that things aren't centered or straightened.

and some of my favs

That's my weekend update! Thanks in advance if you happen upon this thread, Steven!

Welcome to the big leagues! Didn't I tell you you'd love playing with it? And yes, you got pots of nice bokeh shots in here! I love how creamy this lens is in terms of the bokeh.

Also, I quoted to get all these nice ones on the current page

Thank you Fellas...and thank you very much for the updated title!!!
Sean, as my main mentor...feel free to quote away. Thank you very much...and to think that only a year ago, all I was doing was overfiltered and hdr. I really appreciate the recommendation to grab this lense...at $113 shipped, it didn't break the bank and definitely inspired me. It's like having a totally new camera!

J.

2 of my favs are Betty's picture and the rear wheel closeup.

Jeremy, you need to plan NOW to attend the National Meet next year. Hopefully Tyler will come again. Morgan was there this year.

Next year, we are taking the cars on to the Kansas Speedway!

Although, now that I've gotten my car aligned with the coils maxed, I don't think I'd wrap the whole thing cause I'm BOUND to catch it on something and rip it again!

How much wrap you got and how much you want for it?
Also, the white sidemarkers from Simon, did you perchance turn them on next to the original NON blinking white ones!??! Are you CERTAIN the white is "bluer" and closer to 5500 or 6000 kelvin?

Thanks Anil, for the responses, always appreciated.
yes they did help a lot with the Rasp....imma have Morgan comment on this as he sat in my car and he will have a unbiased opinion....and the whites on the USR are certainly a lot more "cooler" than the previous one....

And the new shots are just SICK dude....very well done....

Not to be bashing...and J I really LOVE the pics. That lens is doing great things for you But this is bokeh...

It's circular lighting in the background (out of focus obviously)

Bokeh is all the unfocused area. Shooting with this lens on a D-sized sensor, with a subject as large as a car, will cut the intensity of the bokeh.

Bokeh - The Japanese word Boke derived from the verb "bokase" meaning to smudge or make blurry. Pronounced BO-KEH in English. The blurry, or out of focus region behind a subject is called the bokeh. A pleasing bokeh is one which has soft, round edges to the objects. Less enjoyable bokeh is one which has harsh or sharp edges as this can be more distracting to the viewer. I describe good bokeh as smooth and creamy.
J, love the rear wheel shot. Looks like the one I took for my buddy. Works and works and fancy lugs and fancy lugs. too bad my buddies doesn't tuck like you!!!!!

Hmmm...that's a heck of a road trip, but definitely not out of the question. My only thing is Betty is tolerant of my car obsession, but don't know how tolerant she would be to spending a decent vacation and drive up for something car related. Unless I planned a road trip for something she loves too... Would be awesome though!

thanks for the response Anil...and compliment on the pictures! I may have to think about that, wrapping the whole system seems like a great idea. How much you looking for for the rest of that wrap and how much do you have of it?!?!

Jer....I got 6 rolls of 25ft each just incase....

i used up 3 rolls wrapping the primaries and the down pipes....the tail ends are left as is....

if you are wrapping only the primaries, I think 1 roll should be fine....if you are wrapping the full exhaust primaries + down pipe + the split to the mufflers, I suggest 3 rolls....

i got the Titanium Lava Wrap from Summitracing....here is the link to the product....

i got the 8inch SS zip ties and they didnt fit so ended up going to HomeDepot and getting some SS ties with the screwdriver thingie to tighten em down....got them for a $1.25 a pop....I have 6-7 left....

so what I have is:

Honestly, you have me convinced that I don't even have rasp anyway! When mine is warm, I'm actually inclined to say that there's little to no rasp...maybe I just convinced myself it was super bad!

Anyway, I'm really antsy to receive my batch of the sidemarkers and see if they are bluer and match my switchbacks better...I'm HOPING so!

Austin, you better shut your bokah before you get slapped in it!

Anil...if that's the case, then I'm sure the ones that you got originally would have been similar (more white than blue) to the original all white sidemarker people's since they too would have been on the same assembly line. You knew that I was asking apples to apples and whether or not he had been able to fix the 'not blue enough' issue when he created these. Also, that also implies that there IS a more bluish white version of these sidemarkers which was what we were assured these would be. As soon as I receive mine, I will take a picture of both of them on the car at night and hope they match up with what USR posted up as the white John and I were looking for. As previously stated, I do appreciate all your help with this and all other things Acura!

Well, if we're going to have a cockfight in here, i'm going to pull mine out too, just be warned...it's 2 solid inches...HARD so I might win.

Can't you both be right?!?!

Dan, thank you, brother...quite a compliment from someone that is more detail oriented and has much bigger mod balls (what I call them) than me! Glad you stopped in!

I don't really know honestly.

Sean, what I mean is, the photo you posted is barely bokeh because it's not as intense as it should be. Just because something has blur in the background DOES NOT mean it's "bokeh." Bokeh means it has blur and those blurs end up being circles in the background, it's a blur that actually compliments the photo rather than ruining it.

I won't say what I want to. this is Jeremy's thread.

bokeh is unfocused area. that's it. like I told you about 'hipsters', just because you don't like it doesn't change what it is.

Seems to me like you're both right...
in the beginning the focus is on the blur, but the definitely expands on that by mentioning it's basically the use of the blur and not necessarily in a halo effect. It's more about the type of lenses etc creating different kinda effects. Seems more like it's about the use of backround lack of focus to accentuate foreground focus (of subject).

it's so original they didn't have the steering wheel at that time.

Poor J, it would look awesome with the blue stitching to match the lights inside.
