It's like $100 on Amazon. It fluctuates.

what makes it do something totally different than the lense I have now...I can SEE that it looks awesome, but not sure I understand why. Pardon my noobness with this.

It's a VERY fast lens and allows the aperture to be wide open. f/1.8 is very low, meaning it lets in more light, which will allow for faster shutter speeds.

check this.

notice the bokeh? the blur? it's creamy and nice

that's the #1 best thing about that kind of lens.

plus, I literally NEVER use my 18-55 lens anymore. its the 50 or the 50-200 lens.

plus, it doesn't distort the image at all. its the same look as the human eye sees

^^^that's what I'm shooting for, honestly...i hate when I look at something then shoot it and doesn't look like it.
Does this lense not have zoom capability?!
I'm sorry, but what EXACT one should I get for my canon on amazon? I might still have it in my cart...

NO ZOOM. It's locked at 50mm.

Amazon Amazon

It's probably the most common lens Canon makes.

the only thing that will change it is the focus, it'll vary it like .4-.5 on focal length. but no zoom like austin is saying.

you can get up close like this

or far away like this

or even take something boring, and make it look all artsy

and take a not so good background like a house, and turn it into just a background color.

It's okay if you're not a douche and actually take pictures that are worth a shit. If you take pics of your new shoes or shirt or whatever and add a stupid filter to it, GTFO.

I want to throw all these people in a fire...

And finally...

Sorry J, but these are great examples of what not to take pics of and what filters to stay away from.

Duly noted, friends...that lense is on my short list of toys.

J on that flag pic, redo it but set the hardness lower so I can't see the circle of focus, and then it would be perfect.

I'm with you though, filters are good if you have a shitty quality photo, but you still need a subject. and composition.

Thanks fellas...sorry, got super busy at work. Ok, so in that pic, I took with my phone and was SUPER dark, instagram allowed me to use a filter to lighten up and a focal point which doesn't allow you lessen the effect etc. Was good for what I was workin with.

Anyway, preweekend update:

Got my set of 6 pads for the makita...NOW I'm in business with a full arsenal of pads for my D/A AND my full rotary. Although not planning to do any polishing just yet, I love to be prepared.

Checked the mail today and BAM, received my 5 by 2 foot sections of black vinyl I ordered...well worth the 20 bucks...since I hadn't decided to sand down the other portions of the side sills, decided to wrap them. Not perfect, but with so many curves, pretty fkn close TO PERFECT. Also, the effect mirrors the black chrome shifter VERY nicely.

And tomorrow, going to pull my V3 Jpipe to fab up some little "slides" out of steel for the flex sections that bottom out, to prevent any damage since I'm now sitting maxed on the teins. Still only 24" fender to ground...I guess it's my camber being pretty straight that is keeping me so high. Good...love the look and rides smooth...will get alignment next week. Also, waited to pull the jpipe to make things easier for me to install the 90 degree O2 defoulers to get rid of the CEL I have from my high flow cats...with normal driving, no CEL, but every time I open her up a few times, it comes back.

In addition, since I'm pulling the Jpipe to make install easier for me to install the defoulers, figured it'd be a good time to test out the stock jpipe with the high flow 3rd cat I got in my set of cats. Went to lowes and for $5 picked up some hardware, a dab of high temp gasket sealant and we're good. We'll see how it sounds...rather than be in a rush to build the slides, I'll do it over the course of a week and then put the RV6 pipe back on next week.

J.

a D-series sensor is all you'll need, that's ~13 megapixels.

A nikon d60 is a great camera. the D90 however, has video (its good, but not that great) and many other features and most consider it to be far superior to the d60.

I have a d90, and I'm pretty sure that's what john shoots with too.

I want this...Fx series (full frame sensor, the same as a film camera ~36 mp)

except its $3k.
And $3k for just the body. None-the-less I have a photographer friend that said the D800 is supposed to have the best sensor ever made. If you have DX lenses your photos will be cropped and it will still shoot at 16.1MP.

Thank you fellas!
Actually, although it's not PERFECT, it's pretty close for how many curves it has. I may end up doing the other trim to match...or not, haven't decided yet. Luckily I had practiced with that crappy aluminum looking stuff and was decent at it this time.

Ok, so you guys know when you're going to mod and it turns out to be SO much easier than you had anticipated?! What a great feeling...!!! Well, today, I had the opposite feeling...thought it would be a piece of cake and 4 hours later...just got done.

Installed the O2 defoulers to get rid of the CEL...sounds easy, right?!?! Well, let's begin by saying that you'd be much better off going with one of the cheap spark plug defouler mods...cheaper and straight so it actually reaches a lot better and more importantly, it's easier to mount while the primaries are on the car! Anyway...had to uninstall the front cat...drop it down enough to wiggle and jiggle everything into place, rerouted the O2 wiring upward and over the engine mount instead of under it. On the back one, it would have been a piece of cake but of course...the 90 degree defouler would hit the axle guard and not allow it to turn...but figured out getting the 3 12MM bolts out of the shield and moving it over enough to screw the defouler in without rear cat removal.

Remember, I did all this with the Jpipe and engine under cover removed.
Anyway...I had mentioned that I'd be putting my stock jpipe on with the high flow rear cat, right? Well...no fkn way...I'd have to loosen both cats to allow to move stuff around and align the bolts...trust me, I wasted 45 minutes trying to get the bolts through the flanges AND stupid split gaskets to no avail...got 2 of them and then realized I'd need to loosen the primaries to get all the bolts finger tighted then tighten it all back up. No thanks...especially since my plan was to ride around like that for a week to see how it felt and sounded...but looking at the design of the V3 jpipe, I clearly see why it nets so much more gains than the stock jpipe.

On to my skid guards...I realized that now that I've maxed the coilovers...the flex section of the jpipe is what hits first...looked into atlp V2 pipe...but that doesn't allow me to use my high flow rear cat and has same design as RV6 pipe I already have...why reinvent the wheel for a LITTLE clearance. I got the idea from another forum member that I googled when researching the V1 ATLP pipe...so props to him.

Here was the header wrap that had been scraped from the flex section

I took a piece of scrap steel home from work...wanted some that wasn't too thick, but hearty enough to take scraping and keep integrity.
cut using my grinder and hammered slightly into shape to give it a sled like effect, bottom line, you don't want anything "catching" on whatever you scrape on.

cut tabs for the stainless steel hose clamps to sit in (had to use 2 together to be big enough for this portion) and bent everything slightly upward

and here they are installed...no rocket science and hope they get the job done.

Thanks Austin, very much.
And Steven too, realized you updated my thread yesterday! Thanks buddy!

Austin, I wish you could have seen my face...I went from happy go lucky going to be easy to pop these babies in to looking like I was going to cry when I realized I had to retrace my steps and remove the fan, radiator reservoir top 02...etc...

It wasn't that it was SO difficult, it was just a lot more work than I expected...and on a day when Dad is coming over, still gotta clean and buy stuff to cook...I'm spent already!

Trying to reinstall the oem jpipe is really what got me frustrated since I had to scrap the idea and I don't like giving up. I must be getting smarter cause normally I would have gone of the mission of loosen both cats JUST to get the oem pipe on to prove to myself that I could. But I figured FOR WHAT...I'll just be swapping again in a week like I did last time.

I may sell that high flow 3rd cat, so stay tuned. I've gotten kinda used to the V3 pipe rasp at that particular rpm and honestly, rarely hear it. I shift below 3K on normaly day to day driving and if I do get on it, I punch it and it flys past 3500k where I'd hear it anyway.

I might still try having the longer dynomax welded in though...just for peace of mind and since it's longer, it'll eliminate all those ugly ass leaking welds around the smaller one I have on there now.

Yeah I thought you were doing a resonator anyway?

And why would you want the OEM pipe?

cuz I'm a little nuts...you already know this.

Plus, if I got rid of rasp and performance was there, I might sell the pipe again...but alas, I'd hate knowing I gave up the extra 15HP.
What are your thoughts on me just throwing the stock resonator back on WITH the dynomax?

Might be a little overkill there. It would for sure kill the rasp but you'd lose the uhh...loudness? of the system.

As far as performance is concerned, is there any reason NOT to do this? I've been thinking of throwing in an additional resonator behind my aftermarket resonator to quiet down my exhaust.

Hmmm...true...plus, the whole reason I went with dynomax is cause I love the deep tone it gives me...I guess I'll keep thinking about it...I do want to keep the "loudness" cause I love it.

Supposedly the total length of resonators, whether one or more than one is what will kill drone and rasp...the bullet styles resonators ALL pretty much claim that they are a pass through design and all they "catch" are the annoying frequencies and they don't slow the gases on the way out.

Dude, you aren't lying one friggin bit. I thought it was hard with the stock primaries but it wasn't...at least THEY have the bolts fastened in place for you to get the jpipe situated over...having to maneuver the jpipe, and line up all the bolts AND put in the 2 gaskets and put in the support screws and the rear flange with gasket...all on my back and alone, was not fun!
