sorry bro. I'm a muffler kinda guy though. I like how they leave the aggressive nature, but don't let it drone. My s4 was a lot quieter on the highway...going 80 it just hummed along.

I just realized you are a beast, Sean...you LOVE the raw sound of the motor. Hence why you like that natural aggressive and gritty sound. I kinda do too...

Anil, you're right man...I'm definitely a little TOO anal when it comes to stuff. I overanalyze too I should just enjoy it. I barely have rasp...and when i do, I focus on it almost rev to try and cause it to prove to myself that I hate it....when listening to the vids though, I have to admit, i do love how ANGRY my car sounds...like...BISH BETTER HAVE MY MONEY!

the open downpipe videos? I did a good job hiding the rasp it had...no lie, it was shotgun level loud twangs (3-4 in succession) right at 3k when at about 15psi. it sounded SOOOOOOOO gross. but I just avoided it. however, the mufflers smoothed it out so you couldn't even hear a hint of that twang.

said resonator.

24" total, resonator itself is 4.5-5" in diameter, and where its welded is 11" in length.

you'll end up with about 22-3" inches total once the bell mouth is removed (its from a type of slip fit) and you said you need exactly 20?

and per bike discussion, these are sort of what I was talking about last night...

but the one I was thinking of mounts on the frame sort of in the middle. plus side of this style, is you get more chain on your sprocket...more torque!

Thank you Sean, yeah, that should work out just fine...is stainless weldable to regular steel!?!? Sorry, probably a dumb question! I might as well give it a whirl...it'll likely kill that 3K rasp, right!?!?

About the single speed, now I'm torn...part of the reason the bike was so price was the sweet X.O carbon rear shifter...and the hanger replacement is like $15 shipped...I have to see if I can salvage the cable and grab a spoke off my other set of rims...that would be a pretty cheap fix.

What I also want to see is if I could just grab a single speed chainring and maybe bashguard and then get a single speed chain and rear tensioner and fixed gear. It'll cost more but I think it would be more fun to just pound out a ride being able to put as much torque as I want AND have to just full commit to climbs etc.

As usual...Jeremy will be overthinking...

J.

Good news this morning...even with the maxed TEINS...my alignment specs are no worse than when I first only dropped the car 2 inches... Camber about -2 rear and -.5 up front and toe in spec. I can't go any more positive on camber since my rims are so close to fender.

Yay...

and here is why Sean and I were talking about a fixed gear.

Actually...I did this a long time ago...3/10/10, to be exact. Very few places have an in ground lift around here...the tire kingdom about 15 miles south of me is one, to be exact. They sell aftermarket stuff here too...it's called TK performance. The manager was a cool guy, into biking...he ended up giving me a discount for $190 for 3 years so I went for it.

When the time comes though, in March next year, I'll likely try and find something closer to work like a firestone etc that might offer lifetime! I agree though...for people like use that are always changing things up, gotta get it! See...we agree on SOME STUFF!

Ty, you HATE black wheels...
gimme dat exhaust setup and buy me a type s lip and buy me the atlp quad tips and then drive it down to me and then install it while I watch you while I have a fruit smoothie with vodka in it in a lawn chair in my speedo that's light pink and slightly see through and at least 2 sizes too small.

Cool...I'll even have a little bowl with ice and snausages ready for Cosmo next to my chair.

DOOO EEEETTTT!

aaahhh...i remember you were telling me you had a 2 or a 3 year deal on alignments and i was "forcing" you to find Firestone with an in-ground rack....

as a word of caution if it doesn't have a in-ground rack, DO NOT go there man, you will regret it (i know you know that but just wanted to put it out there)....

but yeah the same chic who gave me a 50% discount on those (i got it for $80+taxes), didn't give the same discount on my wifeys car for her we ended up paying $160+taxes, still a good deal as a 1 time alignment runs like 70-80 bucks....

I wanted to leave SOMETHING to the imagination!

Anil, yeah man...funny enough, even before maxing out I had tried going to the tire kingdom near work (i can go to ANY of them) and they don't have the in ground lift...HA>>>even with 2 by 4's they couldn't get it on the rack. Oh well...that's my first question now...yall got an in ground lift to do alignments?

well, that dynomax sounds like its a beefy boy...this thing is pretty tiny.

from this video though, you will lose a LOT of rasp.

vs mine, with the resonator we're talking about

not much quieter, but a LOT smoother. I did have the handbrake on, so that's the park limiter at 4500 or w/e

Much smoother...well, honestly though, the wildcard with any of these clips is having the V3 Jpipe and PCD/HFPC's...which you didn't...you'd be amazed at how tame my car sounded with nothing but the dynomax.

I appreciate you taking the time though, I promise you that...I'm just worried about having to pay to have the thing welded in and it not killing the rasp.

We'll chat tomorrow...been researching converting to SS...as usual, I overcomplicated it...it's not that hard.

Steven, sorry buddy, picture sent.

Funny enough...I transferred it from my RSX...it's not meant for the TL...after a couple of beers though...and a drill, I went for it and it worked out well. I love it...keeps the bike off the car!

Hmm....I'm wondering if it helped you with the rasp at all...originally you mentioned it was mainly due to the differences in the pulses coming out of the engine, which obviously wouldn't change with them being wrapped. Mainly, what I noticed with the wrap is that the rasp isn't as bad once the exhaust is warmed up...so the wrap obviously keeps the heat on the pipe and warms it up faster.

Although, now that I've gotten my car aligned with the coils maxed, I don't think I'd wrap the whole thing cause I'm BOUND to catch it on something and rip it again!

How much wrap you got and how much you want for it?
Also, the white sidemarkers from Simon, did you perchance turn them on next to the original NON blinking white ones!??! Are you CERTAIN the white is "bluer" and closer to 5500 or 6000 kelvin?

Thanks Anil, for the responses, always appreciated.

LOL...thanks fellas...
Helen Keller, huh!?!?

Ok, how about a couple of these? And a BIG shout goes out to Sean, John (<<<2 different people), Tyler and Austin for the lense recommendation. WOW...for purposes of showing what it can do I did NO touchup on these. Canon 50MM F1.8 Lense:

Ok, this a good example of what the lense focuses on depending on where you place the focal point
car focal

mid focal

grass focal

Bokeh (?!?!, if not, don't kill me Sean)

Now, just some nice angles of the car...again, untouched so bear with the fact that things aren't centered or straightened.

and some of my favs

That's my weekend update! Thanks in advance if you happen upon this thread, Steven!
