Nice! Great job paying the car off!

Its always a tough call; for me, it was

get low mileage and better condition but more expensive= Car note
slightly higher mileage but lower price= cash and title in hand

I went with getting a cheaper car and paying cash. Honestly though, with how OCD I am about everything, sometimes I wish I did get lower mileage or maybe even brand new

then I would have known every single piece of maintenance (or lacktherof) that the car had. Sigh...I'm crazy lol

^^^True...but then even more of a reason to freak out when you DO inevitably make it a used car by getting little dings etc.

I believe in OCD in moderation!

Ok, so not much to report other than giving her a good seafoam and oil change for her 85K birthday!

here was a snapshot of my CEL blinking right after seafoaming...cleared it all out, did the 4K rpm run on the highway and she is running as smooth as ever now!

...believe it or not, I caught a break from it too...both of them turned off for 4 days...then came back for a day, and now, it's been a week that it's been off.

Was ALMOST going to NOT do the seafoam figuring I shouldn't tempt fate, but then said EFF IT...let's get all this gunk outta there!

^^TO be entirely honest...every time I talk to an old school motorhead, and tell them seafoam...they act like I'm part of some secret society that found the fountain of youth for all motors. "oh, didn't realize you KNEW about seafoam!".

I concur...I am truly, full o shit...Steven and I were actually in another thread where I named all the mods I said I'd either NEVER do etc and how many I'd actually done. LONG list...

Ty...install will be this weekend! I COULD get it done during the week, but honestly...to me, part of the fun of modding is the experience and taking my time with install etc. Do it at a slow pace, make sure it all goes together right...AND, I'll have my awesome strong directional garage fan by then.

I remember when I bought this TL...my first thoughts were, I'm not doing anything on this car, it's perfect. HA!

To be honest, I STILL love the base tips...but to justify the exhaust cost and minimal gains...it's gonna feel a little faster, gotta SOUND nicer (BYE BYE RASP!) and it can't LOOK identical! Either way, got a great deal on a used set...with quad tips that'll fit my base opening. I'm going to rock them, worst case...resell the exhaust and pop my stock one back on. No biggy.

Did a little "prework" tonight...had the wrap, figured easier to knock this out while off the car so did it now. It was TIGHHHHTTT to get the wrap around both pipes since they're welded to each other with some plates. I contemplated NOT doing this, but I was very happy with what the wrap did for the tinny sound of my jpipe, so figured it can only help deepen the tone on a little bit of the exhaust.

Thanks bud...RV6 True Dual.

Ok, I'll NEVER:
get visors
lower the car more than aspec
get rims
put a sound system in
rear sway bar
intake
jpipe
primaries
exhaust
camber kits
short shifter
shift knob
go spoilerless
put the spoiler back on
change my type s tails
change my base reds
change my smoked tails
clear my headlights
install switchbacks
do the blinking sidemarkers
install CCFL's...

That's just my preliminary list of things...I REALLY started off saying, THIS CAR IS PERFECT and I'd never change this or that...

LOL...when I was about 25...I had a huge epiphany with how full of sh*t we all are (of course we THINK it's everyone else). Realized that I always remember myself in a positive light...I was never the one to fk things up, leave crumbs on the counter, not close cabinets when I'd get something...I got called out on it from a roommate and realized I needed to be more honest with myself.

So there, I said it...I'm full of sh*t and am glad Italiano admitted he is too!

Congrats on the exhaust bud, it shall be exquisite.

Although I'm happy you got it, I'd really love to see the base tips stay haha

Thanks Aus...
for an exhaust expense though, for me:
It's gotta add some power, it's gotta sound awesome, and it's gotta add to the look. I agree that I LOVE the base tips, but I just wish they were a little beefier or something to make them stand out from every other TL out there. Know what I mean?

I actually dig the ATLP base tips IF they shaped them a little more to the contour of the bumper.

That's exactly what Azine does. I had no idea I could mod the TL like some of these people have. I bought my car and had no real intentions of modding...then I found this place...

Tell me about it, boys...
I really enjoy taking my time installing mods though...so I don't feel like being in a rush to get it on and then the anticipation is gone and it's no fun. Plus, after work...no thanks!

So this weekend it'll get put on, and I will get at least a vid from inside the car and one from outside.

Anil, thanks man...you were my main driving force for doing the jpipe with wrap and now that I've seen what an impact it made on the resonance/depth of the sound, I figured I might as well wrap the first 3 feet of the catback. I don't have enough leftover wrap to go too much further but I might try and wrap some more. It was HARD to do...such a tight fit between the 2 pipes...ALMOST decided to just go ahead and wrap around both pipes together! LOL.

Thanks Ty...looking forward to it myself! Should I take an AZ vow of silence till this weekend?!?!

Swoosh, fo sho, man...I thought, ok, that's the easy way, and what if it traps moisture etc...it'll be annoying to try and wrap under the car, fk it, do it right.

Thank you Kix...always kind words from you!
Also, Steven, thank you for the thread update! Is there a way to interject the below post into my original post (or above it)?

Found some of my "TL, the early years" pictures! Oh...went down the wrong path at first!

my original tein advance lowest comfortable setting

1st lowered, seriously...this was as comfy as i was to lower it.

So I posted my 1st attempt at solid red emblems...but not my perfected ANODIZED red emblems! LOL

That's all for tonight fellas...goodnight.
