What the hell! Screw FL and the meteorologists! (I spelled that all on my own, no spell check )

And yes, gonna vacuum and get the inside clean and then I think I'm gonna head to my grandma's new house and wash/wax. She lives on a paved road and it's a nice neighborhood

And yes, tonight or tomorrow morning, goin' mo' low. Jus a lil' mo' low, not a lot mo'.

Alright papo, well, you ALMOST had me convinced but cutting off the rolled tip would NOT make the pipes look any bigger AND would make it look a little too "industrial" for the look I'm going for on my car. I agree, that at some point I'll have some bigger tips welded on (or something custom for a base opening) but in the meantime, I'm going to let sleeping dogs lie and be happy with what I have. It looks pretty darned good if you don't keep focusing on the size of the tips and sounds amazing.

Anyway, since I can't sit still and I'd been feeling like the rear of my car was looking a little too "stock"...went back to smoked look and lost the chrome "ACURA TL" plate. Yet again Betty was right with her comment of "didn't you debadge it to lose the name on the back".

Here are some new shots:

Ok, I'm done for the weekend...at this point, y'all are probably a little sick of my pictures.

I never get sick of your pictures! Don't say that!

I LOVE those smoked tails Were you able to get them in without taking the bumper off??

Oh and about the exhaust...I heard the tip size doesn't matter

^^^ Yeah J your pics are some of my favorite to look at.

Are your smoked tails OEM or DEPO? Did you have to get red lightbulbs for the turn signals or are the lenses still red?

I'm thinking of buying the DEPO set from USR.

Thank you Austin, I appreciate it!
I'm in love with some of those newer shots!!!

I gots little tips but Betty still loves me! LOL...
About the tails, it definitely completes the "batmobile" look. At this point, I can swap over in about an hour and can do it just by lowering one side of the bumper at a time, not the whole bumper removal.

J.

Sean! Thank you, my man...my inspiration for photography!
Shoeface, they ARE USR smoked markers so they're DEPO. Zero issues with them to date and you can't beat the price!

Yeah, red LED bulbs for the rear, but I had them in the base reds too.

Thank you Fellas...
Sean, the reds aren't gone and forgotten...I get bored every few months and swap back and forth. I'm down to about an hour from start to finish to swap the tails.

I get tired of not having contrast and put the reds back on, then I get tired of the car looking stock from the back and swap back. Was contemplating the Type S tails...but I think I made myself bored of them so long ago.

KEEP THOSE TAILS ON THE CAR!!!

Holy shit thats hot. Those tails update the rear of the car and make it look much newer. Plus they tie in with the headlights.

Also, I said it in Austins thread and Ill say it again - paint the mufflers black, it will make the tips look bigger. The tips fit the bumper perfectly, its just the massive polished muffler behind it throwing off the look.

This. My eyes focus more on the mufflers, making the tips appear smaller.

Morgan, thanks for the insight, man. I MAY try and tape off the tips and paint them without sanding as that's something that's easily reversible if I hate it (unlike sawing them bishes off). I was taking measurements and there really isn't much room to work with to try and put bigger tips in there. I'll just wait to see what Richie comes out with down the line.

About the tails, thanks man. Yeah, I hated the lack of contrast originally, but something about it now looks like it ties into my theme a lot better and the car looks less "stock" from the rear.

But the rear one gives a nice example of how the exhaust sounds. NO rasp whatsoever!

first off, i love the blacked out tails....i think it completes the black on black look which i think you are aiming for

the first video is awesome and in the second all i hear is wind noise but none the less, you got a good setup going for ya....

and finally....i hate your pix....i do....you make other black cars look like shit....i went to the pick of the front end and thought now we have the same bloody front end and how does it look better on your car

all I have to say is you have done really really well with the car

Video quality.

The mic on the GoPro is actually better then the Contour, you just need to "mod" to it. Stuff a piece of sponge behind the camera and use the open back, or buy the Micover:

Camera placement has a lot to do with the sound though. If you put the camera on the top of the roof and fly down the highway at 100mph, youre going to have wind noise regardless.

Wow, Anil, quite a friggin compliment from you, man! Thank you...you already know all my pictures are lens trickery. Trust me, my car is chipped to hell, swirled up and has more defects than I'd ever like to admit. To be honest, when I first took some closeup pictures of the DOMED DECAL, I had to opt NOT to post it cause my front end looked horrible. I also chose to park the car in the shade since the NBP looks so much better when the sun isn't making things obvious. That front end picture is my absolute FAVORITE!

Thanks again, man.

Well, I will say this, I was originally looking for a GoPro and my sister ended up surprising me with getting me the contour, so partially it's sentimental, and it's partially cause I think it does a good job. I wish the GoPro was a little more streamlined like the contour, but I agree that videos are better on it.

Their two different types of camera. The GoPro is more of a sports camera, the Blackvue is strictly a dash cam.

And I lol'd at the rig. I thought the fishing line was a nice touch.

BTW I dont think I said it, but the exhaust sounds sick.

Right, well, I definitely think that GoPro has put more money into marketing and has an amazing array of videos and people they sponsor. My sister moved to Switzerland in 2008 so I miss her and kinda have an emotional attachment to the fact that she took the time to figure out that I wanted a POV camera. I could sell it and go GP, but it gets the job done. I've been able to ghetto rig all my mounts for it thus far, too.

Thanks Anil, it's tiny, but gets the job done (CLEARLY!)

Thanks man...I am too anal to be able to record without thinking FK this thing is going to fall off my car, had to have that safety net to know it could just dangle until I picked it up. It's actually the exogear cell phone holder thingy...it dawned on me that it might work to hold up the camera.

About the exhaust, thanks, buddy...yay...you just totally made up for the peashooter comment! Don't worry, at some point in the future that'll get rectified...might even give your "black tips" thing a shot.
