Wow J!

Glad you finally got a chance to get it on, it sounds beautiful!

And props to you for getting it installed in the driveway. That thing was high up!

I think Tyler is implying that we'll never truly be satisfied until we hear/see that thing in person. Until then we'll just live vicariously through you and your vids...

Dammit, every time I see someone post about Tyler I think they are talking about me

When talking about OakTre, please refer to him as either "Gay Tyler" or "Stickers" so I know the difference.

Thanks, man! Yeah, I think it's because the car is so low so when you jack it up it looks really high up! With the jackstands and the fan going, I didn't mind being under there!

T, sorry man...I think for Oaktre we'll have to stick with "stickers". If someone said "gay Tyler" I'd still not know which one they're referring to!

Oh, how about this for a champ...bed at 2AM, up at 7 to hit the mountain bike trails. There are 3 overpasses you go under to get there...MAN, you were right, intoxicating. I tried to record it but the wind noise was too terrible.

take out your backseat and then you can keep the windows closed.

or, just open your sunroof, and the rear windows only about 2", keep the fronts closed.

love the exhuast sound. I think it needs bigger, unrolled tips though. those look all stock and not like straight badassery like the rest of the car.

it's got that sexy 6 cyl warble that keeps me from jumping up to a v8 car. reminds me a lot of my s4 actually.

LOL...was that a CTS-V in the 2nd vid?
Thanks Sean...but stop staring at my peeshooters! Did you miss where you made everyone rag on me for posting a fkn naked picture of a man on the previous page?!?!

I had some black residue on the inside of the tips, which helped make them look smaller, I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be that way so left it alone till today. Today I hit them with some barkeepers friend and they look a LOT nicer!
Spoiler back on, I know it's not the popular vote, but I like it. Plus, it feels too plain (sleek too...but plain) without it. AND, with spoiler back on, it adds another element of design to the aesthetics of the rear of the car, it kinda squares out the rear. On a NON lowered and non aspec TL, I don't like how it looks, but I do on mine. It also hides the 4 holes I was covering with vinyl circles and the zigzag scratch I put it in the trunk by accident with a metal shaving.

Spoiler stays, punk. Until and if I can ever find one off a crashed TL with no holes in it already and NBP.

I give it a lot of thought, but honestly...without the spoiler, I have the four holes and a huge scratch. Plus, if I just do what everyone does I'd end up with a lip spoiler and roof spoiler like everyone else. I'll represent the spoiler and represent it proud.

Jeez...between the comments on the tips etc...tough crowd this weekend. I'm out of here...I'm going to start a thread about the LFA I just put a deposit on.

Yeah, but I accept that you like boys so I figured you'd cut me some slack on my liking the spoiler and tips!

It's all good...I love the exhaust and how it sounds and looks...if another set of tips become available by Richie, I will definitely consider it. A big plus to me was the ability to keep my base opening...i don't want to start frankensteining this car and the aspec kit. The ATLP base tips have grown on me too, to be honest but I still don't dislike how these look.

About the spoiler...I agree that the wingless look is cleaner. BUT, I just polished out the trunk and having to look at those 4 holes covered with vinyl and the deep scratch that I put in the trunk isn't worth it to me. I'd rather have the spoiler back on...I like that not very many people rock the spoiler and in a lot of ways I do feel like it adds an element of visual interest to the rear of the car. Sleek is nice, but like the window visors, a little more lines and texture make a big difference.

No worries dude! I'm sure I would have put the spoiler back on too if I had the four bolt holes and such.

I think your car is one of the few that looks good with the spoiler

Thanks Tyler...that made me feel better! If it's any consolation, if I had no spoiler, i DEFINITELY wouldn't be drilling holes in my trunk to mount it BACK on.

Aaron, don't be jealous man...this exhaust sounds like sh*t. Raspy as all hell and the drone is almost not tolerable. I had to drop down to 40MPH on the highway to live with it. Skip this mod.

Anil, there's been a lot of activity since I posted so you might have missed it!
1st vid is cold startup for the first time (saved it for you guys!)
2nd vid skip to 4:03...too much wind noise before that
3rd vid is the best one.

I love love love it. It's perfection...I got a lot of flack for the smaller tips but they fit the opening perfectly so I'm happy (for now...if Richie makes a different base one, I'll look into it).

Install was a breeze...hardest part was getting the clamps in with the wrap...didn't realize I'd need that space for clearance. VERY happy...sound and power are awesome.

Funny, my cousin slept at my place Saturday night...I got up early to bike yesterday and when I came home he was like "dude...one of your neighbors started up a boat at like 730 this morning..." I was like...NOPE, that was ME!

McCollins, I'm assuming you meant the trunk spoiler, not the lip one, right?! If so...don't worry man...get it and I'll have your back and defend it! There are very few spoilers that match the lines of the car and lines on the trunk as well as ours. The 8th Gen accord is one of them too...my fiancee has that with the spoiler and it looks great.

Correct, I want a trunk spoiler instead of my Type S spoiler. I would like to see one on a Type S first before I do it tho. I think I would be one of the first to do it.

hahaha yeah J....I was not on Azine (usually am not) over the weekend and hence missed out....but great great videos mang....the exhaust sounds awesome....you know all the while trying to justify 1500+ on the exhaust was the reason i didnt get one.....but after listening to it, i bet you dont need to justify that anymore....he has certainly done it right !!!

DO NOT GET PCD's....keep the pro-cats....PCD's will ruin that sexy sound.....

and yeah I wish Richie would come out with more options for the tips....be on the lookout for that

^^^Thanks buddy...I certainly will. He keeps avoiding my questioning of his timeframe for tips, but mainly because he says he's got bigger fish to fry right now.

J.

Yeah, I don't know about spending $1550 either, but that's cause I'm a cheap bastid! I am very happy with how it ended up though, I do admit.

McCollins...Colombus got flamed for thinking the world wasn't flat...and now we have a holiday in his honor!

I went back approx 3 pages...and u fawkers say some funny ass shyt! The random shyt that can ONLY be found on this thread and maybe Swoosh thread... That is why this thread has to be called BUILD/Random rambling thread... or else it would be shut down as a build thread alone. Just some funny ass read!

BTW Nice mods J! Love the sound of the exhaust ~ U have me jealous now. Did you buy this from that one dude who was selling it for a lil minute on BM that titled it RARE EXHAUST...or something like that? And on the thread everyone kept commenting on the small tips? They are on the small side but the sound makes up for it.

Slpr, thank you very much, man!
Maybe the tips don't translate well to the pictures but in person, I really am happy with how they look, there is a perfectly even gap around them inside the opening and they really couldn't be much better without touching. In a TYPE S opening, for sure...way too small...but I'm happy with it as is.

J.

Josh...I was kinda surprised you didn't say that either!

Maybe the tips don't translate well to the pictures but in person, I really am happy with how they look, there is a perfectly even gap around them inside the opening and they really couldn't be much better without touching. In a TYPE S opening, for sure...way too small...but I'm happy with it as is.

Josh...I was kinda surprised you didn't say that either!
NO WAY DUDE...I am trying to keep the followers down to a minimal. I already have the RBP TL local AZ that wants em also... Slpr, U know who I am talking about, he was at the meet back in March.

But on a real tip, I feel what u are trying to say Jer. Somethings just look spot on or so much better in person rather then online pics. I feel the same damn way about my entire car. I get so mad because it never looks the same and has such a impact as it does in person. Pics suck!...Unless u have a pro PS to make every shot slap pop and drop it like its hawt!

Well, they got hated on a lot more than I expected, let's just put it that way. Then I go out and look at them and I'm like "meh...wtf is everyone talking about!"

In the clinic it would be called "Little tip denial"./
