Ok, latest mod:

Rear RDX covers...
Got them from my good buddy, Glenn.

Test fitted on the rear...obviously, not leaving Acura on them since front says Brembo

Cleaned with degreaser and soap/water

Sanded them badboys

Mounted up to make sure paint got on the edges. Used high temp engine paint as my base since it's the silver of the front calipers. I made some silver test pieces to try some variations of blue/teal to pick a color. I figured that if I decide not to go through with swapping the color, I wouldn't have to repaint these.

more updates to come in the coming weeks.

Thanks fellas...
Anil...definitely going to match front to back with whatever i decide but I'm not certain I'm keeping silver or doing another color.

It's easy enough to switch and reverse if need be. Silver looks clean but I'm curious to see another color.

^^^ I would definitely try another color...the burnt orange engine covers you got, looks good and would be a color contender

but yes, trying a different color on the rear RDX cover will be easier than trying it on the brembos....

For sure...
Burnt orange was one idea, but it might clash and be too much with the blues going on. I have to see.

I think it might go good with the wheels....a silver brembo sticker will go with the center cap and make the blue stand out

but then again, thats just me....my mods dont really go the way i imagine them

Do you have black or silver lugs lying around you could try?

But then you gotta open the headlights and make the ring orange.

Anil, you may be right. Trust me, not all my mods go how i envision them either.
Hmmm...I can probably find it on the thread, Badass...but I'm not sure offhand, the covers came with no bag. Austin (undying probably knows though).

Quan...well, Glenn was a really standup guy and paid it forward cause he only basically charged me shipping to me.

Good friends are good.

J.

So many choices
If you match them to your blue color, might look nice since ring and lug nuts are blue
But burnt orange might stand out more

^would it be odd, while lug nuts and rings are blue? Naaah, open up the hood...done

Silver is ok too but change is always good

Whatever your do..will pull my attention
You know what's the best

LOL, thanks for the vote of confidence, MEK.
Yeah, I'm torn...but since my hood is never open, might not tie in that well. If I opt to lose the silver, I am leaning heavily on the Teal.

Quan, I'm honored to be rockin some of your parts, man. Glenn decided he wanted to go with the brembo lookin ones.

Here are some of the samples I painted. I'll be taping them to my calipers and taking pictures from more of a distance in good lighting to make a final decision. They're pieces of one of our lettuce bins...I cut them to kinda fit front/rear calipers. LOL

with flash

without

Ok fucknuggets...I think you've had your fun with me now.

Here are all the shades together.

and here's one I forgot I had, I think I dig it a lot too.

So here we go:
Anodized Blue over high temp silver

Anodized blue over teal over high temp silver

Teal over high temp silver

Burnt orange/copper over high temp silver

Silver I currently have

Surprisingly enough, the Teal matches my lugs pretty darn well. Well enough to be a strong contender. I was leaning toward the teal with anodized over it, but I feel like it'll be hard to get an even finish since the anodized is translucent and stacks and some areas might end up darker. The regular blue anodized is out...reminds me of the blue I put on my accord calipers. TEN YEARS AGO... :gross: Teal is number one, I think...I actually like the copper color too, but part of me feels like it's bordering on 19 year old Puerto Rican kid modding the car (no Offense to you 19 YO or PRicans). That leaves the mystery contender...that Goldish finish is very similar to the color that came on stock G35 Brembo's and actually is a little more muted and clashes less with the rest of the blue theme.

Then the other part of me says, why complicate my life, the silver looks good behind the rims, it stands out, looks adult and clean. Why mess with it. I'll sleep on it for a bit.

I don't know what to say
I guess I agree with John too, and after I read your last sentence, I said "ok match it with nuts and xenon ring " Don't go further

You will start messing with orange then..
Leave that orange to me

So..teal it is?

MEKO, thank you, you're right...you handle the orange/gold looking stuff.

After some deliberation with my good friend John. I am leaning HEAVILY toward the Teal. It'll tie things in...and if it looks like TOO MUCH, I'll just revert back to silver.

I've actually wanted to do the teal since I originally did the calipers many moons ago.

I am digging the blue as it will flow very well with the car....

am also digging the burnt orange as it really makes the caliper stand out....

The more I stare at them, the more I love the gold AND the teal. Maybe I'll do one side in each color
