Maybe Steven just has that TOUCH...
OR, it was easier cause you didn't remove it all from his and on yours, you can see it. After a week or 2 with the new layer of it, I have to say...the blue pearl in the paint is VERY obvious in artificial lighting and sun. It's really awesome stuff...

^^^ yup....we only used a mild soap and not dawn on my car....since i didnt wanna strip the car of all the previous layers of wax....

if we have more time, I would have stripped the car of all the previous layers and then buffed it and then all in one and finally sealant....

well anyway, might do that next spring....

Meh, I wouldn't use Dawn, your car is not a plate. Use something like CG Citrus Wash or something like that.

^^^ you do the dishes???

we know where wears the pants in your household....does she give you enough pocket money???

but in all seriousness, I have seen/heard a lot of (blue) Dawn being able to strip down the layers of wax and leave the paint/clearcoat bare naked....

It does...I didn't have Dawn last time, I used palmolive with citrus...it has stuff to cut grease, which is really what ends up stripping previous polymers and waxes. It works just fine.

Steven is a wise man...that would look sweet. I want to tint mine too, but a little nervous about the long arm of the law.

Agree, in FL, my car ALREADY looks super dark with the windows up, so I'd be nervous about getting it tinted. Good suggestion though, Steven. I may revisit (like I do with all my mods, I say NO then do them anyway).

Thank you, buddy. I appreciate that. When i did it, I wasn't sure it would look good, didn't know if it was "too much". Glad it ended up being well received...and tied in my blue theme pretty well.

J.

Forgot to update, but I did this little repair mod (thanks to AZ!)
My mirrors had stopped being SMOOTH for when adjusting or even when backing in and it drops down. Turns out the lubricant dries out...just have to pop the mirror off, clean the stuff off and reapply. I used some molykote. Smooth smooth smooth now.

I do miss it at times....I liked how it "guided" me to park very close to the curb on a corner spot to avoid dings on the other side....but well, you learn to let go and live without it

Tyler, I am LOVING IT. Honestly, it's so good I don't mind putting it up, I constantly do. I've noticed though, that I used the right side to hold up the weight of it as I'd put it up and I creased it. Not a big deal, but lookout for that. (if that makes sense).

Meko, front seats have to be connected (I'm guessing) so that when you put the car in reverse, it tilts the mirrors. Anil, you can't manually press the button and move them when parking?

sorry missed your comment until Jeremy mentioned your name in his comment

but yeah the TL is wired such that, if you remove the seat electronics your auto tilt feature will be a sad history LOL

Yes Sir, I can move it manually but its too much work ya know....i miss the auto tilt feature

but the weight reductions from the seats is massive...so well a healthy tradeoff

Did you? Yeah, made a quick run to: Whole Foods, Total Wine AND Allpets!
Shoulda called me, I still haven't seen the sweet GS!

John, yes sir, move both mirrors to their inner most point, then use a long flathead underneath it, when you look, it'll be obvious. At around 7 or 8 oclock of the ring holding on the mirror were a clock. The rest will just pop off.

Here was the DIY, pay special attention to post 39

Car looks good.

I always had a front strip on windshield when I lived in Florida. But that was in panhandle. I agree it would make things even less visible.

I will be adding one to mine after I replace windshield. Gotta save up for an Acura one because thats just how I am. Damn rocks.
