My buddy has two R6's, one for the street and a track bike sitting in my garage..
![Snicker](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/emot-laugh.gif)
He only rides 1-2 months on the street and usually on open highways where the safety margin is higher. He's dumped on the track cartwheel style but walked.. Not sure he'd walk if he hit a curb or head on into a tree / truck.
I know two people, one who almost lost his leg mid femur.. and one who did lose his leg mid femur. The one who did lose his leg would have probably died if his thick head didn't crack a tree stopping his travel through the air. It's not worth it.

Motorcycles aren't unsafe it's just the dumb motorists around you. Back in 2004 I bought a CBR600rr new from my best friend that worked at the Honda dealer. On mother's day in 2004 we went out riding. Came through an intersection and some ass in a Explorer turned left ride in front of us. I managed to make it by but my buddy ended up T-boning the truck. He ended up passing away on the operating table. R.I.P. DLC
Moral of the story make sure you are attentive to every thing around you while riding.

^just lost my brother last year in a wreck!!! R.I.P bro but I mean Bikes to some are just an addiction a fix just like for some modding their cars and racing them is a fix or what not!!!
he got careless racing on an old airstrip ansd doing 160plus on his R1 with just a helmet and the impact from falling off the back is what killed him....Doctors say if he was with the right protective gear he would be alive today....he would be banged up but alive!!!
Moral of the story is Be attentive...always have a plan b and c.....constantly be on the defensive.....dont ever get complacent and always have full respect for the Bike!!! Respect the bike and its power and it will take care of you!!! never try doing stupid stunts on public roads or stupidity because you never know whats around that corner or on the road!!!

I live in a state that has a no lid law. So as long as we are licensed we can ride w/o helmets. My buddy's nickname was "No Lid Clifton". He never ever wore a helmet. Doctor's said a helmet wouldn't have helped. The impact ripped his main Aorta from his heart. Here in Columbia,SC we have one of the best heart hospitals in the country and they couldn't save him. So ya, be safe out there.

Another sad story is about my Uncle. He thankfully is still alive but his accident cost him his career. He went to Embry-Riddle aeronautical school. It is best aviation and aerospace university in the world. Back in the mid 80's he got clipped by a car and crushed his leg. It handicapped him so he could never fly commercial planes.
So even if you live through it, it can still have some negative long term effects on your life.

I started working on the manifold and was able to get the large straight portions done by hand. Getting in the grooves was a pain in the ass. The TB has so many small little nooks that I ran out of patience and brought it to a shop. They laughed and said "its almost done just finish it" LOL. The shop got all the little crevices.
Ill do the intercooler piping and turbo housing myself since its a much easier surface to work with.
It will have to be cleaned quite frequently if I want to keep that mirror shine. I do a lot of driving so a wipe down with some aluminum polish once a week is no biggie.
Best stuff to use is blue magics polish. Mothers is to abrasive

And today i decided to do something a little different than the polish. Something more helpful with heat shedding

Giving this thread a needed bump.
Rodney sent me a new tune that he dyno'd close to 400whp and I can't believe how good this thing runs. Definitely pushing things as I see the knock light coming on when I really get on it. WMI is currently disconnected so that should take care of that.
Also feeling the stock clutch getting more and more lame so I will be getting to that soon.
Another advantage right now is the 55 deg temperature.
Rodney IS the man. He keeps wanting to talk to me even while still at the hospital awaiting the birth of his next child. Sounds totally exhausted in the message he left me.

My car is SO much fun to drive now. I've got the shitty stocks on and can burn them up at will in 1st and 2nd. Clutch acts really weird but right now, it's seems fine. So I am just going to keep driving until it won't hold under boost.
It's so fun to be able to see people's faces when I am stuck to their ass while they try and flex their muscles. Except for the drop and round tips for my exhaust, I look totally stock. Haven't had anyone try and keep up yet. So far they all back off immediately.

TL is still on the top of the list but the bike is getting me by. Got my header and pipes ceramic coated and picked up a power commander to tune this thing.
