I am going to be in NYC that weekend so was excited thinking I would love to stop at the track and see you guys work...
for a minute I started thinking Hastings, New England... then realized New England is not a state
as you can see I am jonesing to take my car out to a track... need to find a decent one in the Philly area...
Ville, do you know offhand of racing sites that tell tracks in the area or track reviews? I know I can google but thought I would ask

I'm a little late on this but, if you want to lower your car more and the wood blocks you are using won't work, there is this company called Race Ramps that make all sorts of ramps for lowered cars. Different sizes and lenghts, they are a bit pricey but worth a look. Also there are two other sites i found that might help. Prices vary but just thought i'd share. Project looks good man and shout out to another Airman.

Ville, hopefully you still checking in
been reading up on tires and a lot of folks debate between 245/40 and 235/40 ... mainly it is in wrx forums and autox forums... but the debate is the 235 picks up the gear better where as the 245 propels better...
I noticed you are running 245s.. have you run 235 and if so have you noticed a difference in our FW TLs with the two sizes? or is it just all-wheel cars that would notice something like that?

:what:
The overall difference in tire height between a 235/40 and a 245/40 is only 4mm. That is a negligible difference and varies by manufacturer. The fact that guys even claim to feel that difference is absurd. It's splitting hairs. That's a 2mm difference in radius. Hell, a tire with 50% wear has worn off more material than that.
Ill get off my :soapbox: now.

All your negative autox talk hurts my feelings.
J/K
I am running 255/35 tires on my car. I would go even wider but that is my fender/suspension clearance limit atm.

I saw you said you planned on getting an NRG quick release setup. I have an 03 tL, so it might be different, but does NRG have a universal hub for our cars? Or did you have to get an adapter?
#1740
Yea momo, nrg, and works bell all make hubs. You can get a regular or short hub version. I am using the works bell short hub on a 2nd gen cl which is same as 2nd gen tl.
Just buy one for a s2000, rsx, etc.

I should ask you fellow 3G'ers to do me a favor. If someone has a dirty car that's been driven fast or a wet car that shows where about's the air flows by the rear windows the best I'd love to see it. Doing a little experiment to see how far up the rear door windows, the air flow is the strongest/fastest. Anybody able to help me out?

Just when I waxed mine....
I will look for some pix....I have the window visors so that might "disrupt" the air flow but will snap some pix of where the water/dirt/air does on the rear half of the car...

I think a supercharger is going to be the route for power for the car sometime in the future. just can't find a better way to get to the power level I'll need to make my p/w ratio. Plus I really only need a partial kit at best. I don't have the battery, rad fans, egr, coolant overflow tank, etc to deal with so it'd be really easy to slap on. Plus I have some ideas in my head to really ramp up the smaller blower's performance that I've never seen anyone else do. Now to just work it into the budget.
should work really well with the worked heads I got from swoosh
