Great thread! I've learned a lot; keep it coming, please! I realize this is off topic, but I have a 2007 TL-S and I'm also interested in getting the A-Spec body kit. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find good pics for comparision purposes. Is the A-Spec kit much different from the stock TL-S body kit? If anyone has pics, I would greatly appreciate them! Thanks and take care.

update: the body shop screwed up my trunk lid, so I'm gonna have to do some yelling. Other than that, the rest of the car looks good. Still waiting on my CF hood....

Yes, you can S/C an auto tranny...it just might not last as long as you'd like.

mmm...short life of tranny for S/C or no S/C and longer tranny?? mmmm..

 

I think a few people complimented that the auto tranny could with hold the supercharger with a few modifications despite the transmission still being pretty strong.

 

I know of two SC autos going over 100K.

erick3- I might be missing it but were you SC when the tranny went?

what modifications are you talking about? Should i be worried about my tranny being that im s/c also?

I really can't as that's what I've only heard, no in depth detail as to what the mods would be. I assume these "mods" would be done because the auto tranny (as strong as it already is) isn't durable enough to last with the s/c.

But, I await anything to prove this wrong.

 

UPDATE ON MY CAR: Found out today that it's out of the paint shop and about to be buffed. From Chris(subsonicman), it's an 8 out of 10 prior to the buff job. So, hopefully when they're finished buffing it it'll be like a 15 out of 10

 

I'm sure they will do a good job!

unfortunately, no so i guess i shouldn't be saying ne thing...
i guess i still have a bit of anger left from my a few weeks back when my transmission blew...but then again, i guess i did push it a bit hard
if it can't handle a few hard hits with me behind the wheel...i just figured

 

i wasn't sir. but now that i have a new transmission, i have the "option" of throwing in a blower...in which i probably won't, but who knows

the dealership fixed a right axle plus a few other items - over 1k owned. and the worst part about it is that the problem didn't seize!!! they saved me over $500 though...in which i do believe...

Erik, at what mileage did your transmission die? Also, what symptoms did it give you?

 

it died with 78k

 

yea where are some good updates? a lot of people curious to know....

 

just talked to chris(subsonicman) and he said that the body shop's gonna take a little longer than normal to buff out just to make it pop that much more. should be back in the audio shop by wednesday so that they can build the box.
