So its tuned? If so how? I thought that's what the whole commotion was all about in here... that all you guys did was throw in a blower into a TYPE S with no additional tuning?

 

We had a local shop tweek the CT Advanced control module, by that I mean, they programmed a slightly longer injector pulse length, which was really an Idea that came from CT Engineering. So, If you were to order a kit direct from them, you could maybe get them to do it.

Other Then That, all we did was bolt a TL supercharger to the Type S motor, with very little modification

 

Since I don't want to go through 19 pages and it seems like a bitch searching for the anwser, Supposidly why wouldn't the CTSC fit on a TL-S?

so now that it is "TUNED" what kinda power is this beast making? how much boost are you running? how much more power is it making than the TL-P superchargered?

EITHER WAY, A TURBO KIT IS MORE CAPABLE OF PUTTING UP BIGGER BOOST NUMBERS, IN MY OPINION, ANYTHING MORE THEN 6 POUNDS WILL BLOW A STOCK MOTOR, BUT hp PER $ I FEEL THE SUPERCHARGED CAR IS MORE COST EFFECTIVE. IF YOU COMPARE 5 POUNDS TO 5 POUNDS OF BOOST, I THINK THE SUPERCHARGED TYPE S STILL PUTS UP A SLIGHTLY LARGER hp #, AND STILL WINS 70% OF THE STRAIGHT LINE RACES. YOU WILL GET BETTER TRACTION IN A PROPERLY SIZED TURBO CAR (ie YOU ARE USUALLY ROLLING WHEN YOU HIT BOOST) WHERE A SUPERSHARGER STARTS MAKING POWER RIGHT AWAY.

IN SHORT, I THINK A SUPERCHARGER IS CHEAPER, AND WAY MORE DAILY DRIVABLE THEN A TURBO.

A TURBO IS WAY MORE CAPABLE OF MAKING GIANT hp #'S I THINK IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, YOU COULD SEE 6-700 hp TL'S

what are you asking about the car bouncing off the rev limiter? I think we are talking about when you turn the VSA off, and its damp out, you can not, and will not get traction, and how the VSA is best left on period in the type S, because it will just sit there and wheel hop

dude are you not getting it???

VSA off + wet roads + 320whp fwd = massive wheel spin

your engine will rev up to redline before you know it and youll probably bounce of the rev limiter if you are trying to push the car.

For PHYSICAL installation... did the kit line up, and bolt on 100% ?? Did you have to make any custom brackets ? i.e., the trans mount ??

^blackura, fyi i think nva-av6 is in the process of building a S/C using a m90. might want to hold out for that

 

^ Nice. That's what this kit really needs. Comptech should've used the M90 in the first place, I guess reliability was an issue seeing how the compression ration on the j32a3 is 11:1.

 

I believe there were custom brackets fabbed up for this

 

M90 =

Cobalt SS, Early 90's Bonnevilles and Miatas use the M62

Mustangs, T-Birds & Jags all use the M90

My RSX-S ran 9psi on a JRSC M62 kit and made more WHP than a Cobalt....epic win.

 

The Cobalt SS was originally supercharged. I believe they had supercharged under their Cobalt badge. Now-a-days, they're turbo'd & put up more of a fight.

One thing no one ever mentioned (maybe because of the ultra-smooth power curves). The "common cold" with the S/C'd community; Any SURGING? The hondata reflash cures it, but there's only a small handfull of us with it. Could this pulse adjustment on the ACM have something to do with the lack of surging or perhaps it's just the low boost pressure that makes it very difficult to notice?
