The fact that for the same price as some catbacks, you can have a totally different ride.

If I hadn't already plunged into the turbo world, I would be all over this.
can those settings be tweaked BEFORE sending out the ECU? or is it something i'd have to go to a shop for after i install it?

I agree. Sounds like the AFR is not rich enough for the stone-cold start-up (aka, choke in the old fashion world).

gotcha.

so that's something they can adjust at a tune shop?

i won't have to buy anything else but the ECU still, right? sensor/bung, guages, knock monitor, etc?

Just a PC to change the parms. Nothing else unless you want to.

The difference in Boca Raton vs here is drastic so I expect things like that.

If this (AFR too lean at startup) was indeed the problem, then it could be fixed by tweaking the settings. With nothing extra for you to buy or add. The tweak can be done by trail-and-error by slowly making the AFR more rich (in that area of the map) until the car had a proper startup. It would take repeated visits to the tuner perhaps as the ideal setting was being approached. I say this because the tuner can not sit there and get it correct in one visit most likely. The engine needs to be stone cold. So, the tuner tweaks it and then you tell him how the car reacted when you started it in the mornings.

DISCLAIMER - I have not been there and done that. I base all of the above on my expectation of how the events would unfold.

^^^ this

i exactly plan on doing this....trial and error....since the MS3 has increaments of .1, i wouldnt try to mess more than that at a time....

dont just put the AFR as 2 and say "that would do it"....switch it from 13.4 to 13.2 and see how it reacts

If you look here, it explains how the startup is handled.

http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/...htm#start_idle

As Inacc points out, all of these settings are based on the current coolant temperature so it could be a long process.

It would also be difficult for Rodney to setup a cold crank at my possible coldest day of -30F when he doesn't see anything close to that.

We will do whatever Rodney wants. If Rodney wants it posted to the first post we will. If Rodney wants to start a brand new updated clean thread that is all good too. As stated in the PM to you by Bearcat, let Rodney state here in this thread clearly what HE wants. Thanks.

^^^ if you wanna install under the drivers seat you will need it....

if you wanna install in the passenger footwell you wont be needing it. PS: it will be sticking out in the passenger footwell....

you can get creative and install in the glove box, but again its your call....

personally i would get the longer harness and tuck the wire in....leave room for future improvements....

thanks for becoming a vendor and working hard on this ECU, also thanks Swoosh for all his HELP.

I live in Canada, need a paypal invoice price (jdb_79@hotmail.com) for shipping to
L6A-0N1, with the ECU,AEM widebands A/F and knock monitor.

I have a 2004 Acura TL 6 speed base(form Canada if it makes a difference): mods are rv6 HFC,rv6 v-3 j-pipe,ATLP catback exhaust,AEM cold air intake and p2r Throttle spacer.

thanks

Not a problem buddy....

No it will not make a difference....There might be a little added shipping but I will let Rodney figure that out and send you an invoice.....

As I mentioned, its better to have couple extra inches than saying "why GOD why"

but yeah not required if you mounting in the passenger footwell.....required if your mounting under the seat....i got it for just in case....if i dont need it, will sell it on BM

forgot the price of the custom Fuel Pump...

Also, if buying Injectors, We will still need the Scion TC clips unless you get the pigtails from Rodney after he works out his pricing.

U sure about that? 12" will only go 1 ft. No way it will reach under either seat
