throwing it out for feeler...
I'm planning to do ATLP J, Megan test, ATLP or Excelerate cat back myself. The primary cats will retain enough back pressure, so I say go for it.

Yeah it should.

the cat however is 2.5 inlet and whatever stock size piping is outlet. That test pipe is made for accords, so im assuming accords have a 2.25 jpipe outlet ???

Wait and get the ATLP test pipe, it will be worth the wait, and hes supposed to have them ready to ship in like a month.

I installed mine this past Saturday (after having issues a week ago...a rust-welded nut ...no wonder I couldn't get it off). Anyway, the car seems to have a little more low end oomph, but I can't say too much as I haven't had a chance to really get on it. I didn't reset the ECU, either .

Also, the pipe doesn't hang any lower than the frame, so there should be no worries about scraping.

Still touching...

Mike I ended up installing the J-pipe on saturday. The guy said that he was gonna charge me anywayz if I decided not to install after most of the work was done. The pipe was still touching the oil pan. They had to bend the piping to make it fit (they pressed it with a machine they had) and charged me 100 dollars -_- Its barely clearing the oil pan now. I didnt have the chance to take a pic sorry.
I have 2 questions
Do you think the bending could have affected the gains?
Any problems with the pipe being too close to the oilpan heating up my oil?
Edit: Im the guy that picked it up on thursday with the 07 TL-S.

Hey Julian,

It should have cleared without any problems. It's a tight fit, but we verfied it on a TL-S without any problems.

The bend shouldn't affect the performance as long as he only changed it enough to clear.
No we haven't had any problems with heat management.

Shoot me a PM.

Same here, Wednesday delivery. I also have the EVo2 exhaust, can't wait to hear the sound!!!!

It does seem to sit a bit lower, hopefully I won't have any problems, as my car sits pretty low...

Woohoo! I just checked the Fedex tracking and now it says the delivery day is tomorrow the 29th. I took off work tomorrow to have the pulley installed and if I can get the bolts to brake loose, I'll have it installed shortly after it arrives.

My experience: I installed mine on my car today. It's a pretty strait forward install. I'm impressed how the pipe fits perfectly, no contact with anything else. The only tight spot was the top spot of the mesh area of the pipe, it was very close to the stock exhaust hanger. Overall, great product!! When removing the stock pipe, the toughest bolts were the front and middle group. A little liquid wrench and some muscle will get those loose. While putting on the new J-pipe, I had to prop up the muffler pipe up because I don't have my mid-muffler or the flange near the mid-muffler. After the install, the new pipe hangs a little lower than stock. If you look under the car from the side, you can see it. With my car, the noise was actually quieter than before. I'll have to see if the noise changes a few days from now. I have AEM CAI, UR pulley, and no mid muffler. There is a little deeper hum at idle when the engine is warmed up. Throttle response is quicker across the band. To me, it feels like revving with a lighter flywheel. Knowing that airflow is less restricted with the new pipe, I'm happy.

Red face Jpipe Install

My Jpipe install Was a B**** all because of one bolt, Well luckly a friend came by with a differnt set of tools and got it off, Make sure to have proper tools when doing the install. Best if you have impact for some and the others to cresent wrench style or breaker bar helps as well... As far a the gains just driving normally i noticed the car does a lot better, then at woot all the way to 5k its pretty powerfully. I have a friend with a stock evo9 or 8 the last year before the new change over who wants to run me any idea at freeway speed outcome? There is a guy on youtube that took one out but, possible a bad evo driver i don't know anyways Mike ATLP = OWNAGE =)

1) Mike is a forum sponsor. Other guy is not.

2) Superior design which has proven better gains

3) Better welds and craftsmanship.

Jshift looks like a nice product, but Mike's appears to be the winner...

I hope you're not one of "those" guys.
To be putting 400 to the ground, there would be nothing "stock" about your EVO. Plus, you would be an idiot for trading it in....

+ ATLP J-Pipe

yea thats right. 273whp on a N/A 5AT TL-S !!!! almost 50 more than my 06 TL (227whp)

This was a dynojet. same machine i always use. Run conditions were VERY similar to my last set of pulls
Can you post the graph for this dyno? Is it corrected?

With the XLR8 exhaust and CAI, the dynojet read 243 HP, 215 TQ, don't know if it was 3rd gear pull or 4th, but looking at yours it has to be a 3rd gear pull. Temp was 87.94 degrees and 10% humidity. SAE 1.05

I can see the resonated XLR8 vs non resonated ATLP, minus pulley, minus j-pipe, making the difference in the hp, but my torque is way off. I can't figure it out.

I think stillhere153 hit 269 HP but 219TQ. His torque numbers are way off as well. Or are your torque numbers a bit high?

Anyway....it would be cool if you could post the dyno sheet.

Black did a 4th gear torque pull that is how he got the 250tq numbers

His graph is identical to mine (same car of course)... His air fuel ratio was a bit smoother low end

you want to dyno your car in a gear that is CLOSEST to 1.0 ratio, without going under.... 5at 3rd gear is like (3rd) 1.07, while the 6mt is 1.25 (4th)

Take a valium and re-read his post. What I gleaned from it was this: When he traded it in, it was putting down 400WHP. When it was STILL stock (prior to modding it to 400 WHP) it was pretty solid. No need to call him an idiot for trading it in; perhaps he wanted the curb appeal of a TL.

can we get a pic of the Mikes revised clearance on the 07+ ??

i heated/bent mine slightly, and yieled about 5-10mm clearance.. i wanted to see what the other guys are working with..

i know the OEM j pipe yields like 15-20mm clearance (07+).... a nice under body shot while on the lift would be sweeeet

thanks

As in with an ets 58 trim on meth it made 400 horse at the wheels. It was solid in stock form as well since I need to clarify that I am not one of "those guys" Also since you would regard me as an idiot for trading it in and havent ever owned one yourself.I will explain . An evo is fun ride but there are some serious issues from a maintenace point of view.Insurance goes up every year due to the fact of street related racing.Horrible for gas milage,Anyone with a riced out civic always wants to race and I have been pulled over more times in the evo than in all my other cars combined

40k in the evo and it just became not worth having. When I traded it on the tl I was looking for comfort first and perfomance second.120 miles of a commute in an evo is hell without cruise and I have another car but could never just not drive the evo..To keep on topic my jpipe came today and the quality of stromung and atlp is always first class :thumbsup

Pipe came today, it's a well put together piece. Nice work, Mike.

I might get time this weekend to throw it on the car.
