I just installed mine, it sounds great, has a lot more balls than my greddy evo on the rsx-s that I used to have. Mine was scratched pretty bad too but you cant see it whan its installed so its no big deal. My passenger side tip sticks out a little more than the drivers side. Does anyone know what I did wrong with the install. I had my wife align it while I tightend everything but we could not get it pushed in any. Besides that (which I am sure is installation error) I am very happy with mine

No damage to outside of box...just inner box damage from parts tumbling around I guess. Please advise. I need a replacement side or exchange system ASAP if possible. Can they just pick one up and take the other away or would you just be sending the one side only. I believe this one is a passenger side can that damaged. The other one looks ok so far....although I havent removed the wrapper totally...from what I can see...only one of em damaged.

BTW....the small trust box inside was just dented from parts knocking around....everything inside of the small box looks ok too....just pictured the box so you could see that something was amuck INSIDE of the box.

I with you on this one. I checked my tracking today at work and it said it was in the truck but the scheduled date wasn't until the 20th. I was psyched because my wife has her x-mas party tonight and I would be able to stash it away in the trunk without her knowing (she always gets home before I do). I called UPS to confirm that it would be delivered today but they said the tracking info looks deceiving as it won't be there until the 20th - which my wife has off!

Anyways, UPS FTL - guy was an idiot. Came home and the box was sitting right there!

I've at least delayed the inevitable until I have them installed!

Damn - just as I suspected, got mine today, checked the box and 1 canister is scratched like hell. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do, because, truth be told, inside of a week, the whole exhaust is gonna get battered anyway - do I really care about the scratch? It looks like it's on the top of the cannister anyway that won't get seen. I wasn't planning to install it until Sat anyway....I'll see.

Now I'm confused cause my delivery date at ups's website says the 24th but if you got your's already then I'd assume I'd get mine tomorrow or Thursday. As for the scratch fiasco, it seems more to me about the principle of waiting and waiting only to receive damaged goods. That sucks man, sorry to hear about the damages guys, I'll probably be in the same boat but as long as none of the scratches on mine are deep enough to seemingly become a hole in the next few years I'm bolting those suckers right on!

Yeah - I just happened to check the tracking# for mine yesterday AM and it said "out for delivery". I was planning to be around on Wed (today) to try to get to it before wifey, but UPS left it on my stoop at around 4PM yesterday and wifey had to drag it inside - I just got "the look" when I got home - this is gonna cost me - I gave her my Macy's card this AM and told her to find something nice at their 1-day sale today - oh well - this effing exhaust better sound really good

As for the scratch - it's carved pretty good, but it's nowhere near the pictures I've seen in previous posts and the scratch is not that long - it looks like the hanger from the other cannister came in contact with it. I have to take another better look at it today but I don't think it's deep enough to be a rust problem - I might just say to hell with it since it's on the top of the cannister, drop some high-heat rustoleum on it, and call it a day - I'm not gonna let it stress me too much........

Nice one bro. I won't mind paying less for a scratched up exhaust too.

I had no damage/scratches on mine. Chris has already said he'll take care you and what to do...it's all good.

UPS delivered it the day they said they would. Maybe they're slowing down due to Christmas volume.

And so far, everyone who's heard it has liked it, even my boss, who turned 50 last week.

Actually, no it won't. It will corrode lightly over a long time, depending on the harshness of the environment and chemicals it's exposed to. A light scratch will not cause any "worse" or accelerated corrosion either. The stainless steel is polished NOT treated, the scratch is not exposing an "untreated surface".

Aren't you the guy afraid to use polish on the tips? How do you think that stainless steel got shiny? Polishing rouge, a buffing wheel, and polish...

Payment sent

Hey Greddy -

I just sent in the remainder of my payment ($411.50). Looks like I'm the last one, I apologize for the delay - have not checked Azine in a while. Look forward to getting a tracking number from you. Thanks.

no im not the one..but whatever you know it all...i used to work at a gun shop cleaning guns and i think a stainless steel rifle barrel is a little better quality steel than that of an exhaust system...the exhaust doesnt hold moisture on it for long so it wont rust..go throw one of those mufflers in a sealed container with a bunch of wet towels...i garuntee there will be rust..even though it might be several months, it will still rust..
my pocket knife is D2 Stainless steel, which is one of the hardest stainless made..if some kind of sodium(sweat, blood) is left on there it rusts bad enough to pit it...the weaker the stainless the less chance it has of rusting..the harder the larger chance it has..
With this exhaust there are no worries because it isnt a very hard stainless...

Wierd. I own 7 stainless HK pistols. I know a little about "smithing" too. I don't know it all, but I know a bit. Weapon strength stainless and exhasut system (probably 316 grade stainless) are totally different in characteristics. Some grades, specifically weapons grade, are NOT very corrosion resisant, and thus don't hold well to the elements.

My 7 year old Stainless Borla on my Xterra hasn't rusted yet, but it showing some pitting from years in the salt belt and offroad abuse...

My fully polished GHL on my VW lasted 3 winters with not a sign of tarnish.

When will your exhaust be sealed in a container with wet salty rags for a month?

Nothing lasts forever, the point was that your TL will be falling apart before stainless corrosion of your Greddy will be an issue. A little scratch on the top the can will not be affected any differently that the rest of the system.

The corrosion will occur at the weld points first, as the weld stick is an alloy that's not as weather resistant as the rolled polished stainless used int he muffler and tubing... and that's about 10 years away from being an issue.

Damaged Exhaust

I see numerous people have reported damages to exhaust. My complaint should fall right in line. Left exhaust canister scratches located top and side of canister.

I have not mounted exhaust YET.

Box also damaged; found Box incorrectly leaning tall end up even after its illustrated which way is UP.

Packaging is very poor; exhaust pipe was sticking out of the corner of the box!!
I will load pics once I figure out how to

i'm very surprised how many people's exhaust is damaged. sounds like the bottom line is just poor packaging. hopefully greddy will accomodate for all the damages. nonetheless, i still love my evo2.
