It's bearable when I keep in mind that it allows me to have 2 full days off a week and a day where I only work 7 to 1

Plus I get a 2 hour break (its really 2 shifts back to back) so I can go get an alignment, which looking at how bad my toe is out in the front, I really need, springs or no springs

That's a shitty shift. Used to want to kill myself when I had to do 8 to 8 on Thursday and Friday then 8 to 5 on Saturday. Was pretty much the longest 3 days in a row.

Well being a fairly young student in a pretty low paying job, I cant complain seeing as I at least have steady shift work and being unionized, at least have some security. It aint a forever job anyway, but maybe a good stepping stone seeing as its a government job, so just gotta grin and bear it for a couple of years

Plus I get to pretty much spend the first half of today jamming tunes and the second half being the boss

I do 8:30 to 5:30 on Saturdays and its by far my least favorite day. It drags on and on and on.

My schedule depends on what point I'm in during the monthly reporting cycle. Upside is I choose my own hours and can work from home just about whenever I want

That's always rad. Only "problem" with working from home is you have to get yourself in the mood to work. If you procrastinate... well... it doesn't end well.

shiiiiet. I work 8:30-4:30 M-F, with a 1 hour lunch in there. God, those 7 hour days are brutal

But hey! It's not all that glorious! I'm in at 7:55 this morning. I could have slept for another 30min!!!

I'd actually prefer to work 7-3:00/3:30 like some of you do. Gives you more time when you get home. Not much of an option here though.

Considering the sometimes astonishing stupidity of some of our clients, sometimes I feel like I'm dealing with animals, not humans. Job certainly has more than enough figurative shit shoveling for anyone lol.

But like J said, everyone has to start out somewhere - I'm still chasing what exactly I want to do career wise, and I'm blessed with having a supportive family and friends behind me on that one.

speaking of first jobs... i started with delivering flyers when I was 12, I think. A whole whopping $35 every two weeks! some weeks were REALLY busy, like, deliver 300 Ikea catalogues. Then I'd be makin' money that week... $45, boyz! It got to the point where I would ditch half the flyers in the dumpster. fuck that shit. Ah, the work mentality of a 12 year old

But first real job was Burger King, just after they opened the franchise here in Canada. I'd always smell like onions when I got home

oh my god

Just had a talk with one of our clients new assistant and from the starts she sounds... let's say bleached blonde.
I tell her she has to go through our intranet and I spell out 2 words and I say "both singular".
She pauses and I hear her being "uhhhhhh" then she goes "Singular, does that means without an e?".

Nearly fucking lost it. wtf is wrong with people

How about explaining to people how to print a file in Excel 2010 because the menu looks different than in Excel 2003?

I work with real estate brokers though, it would be hard to find people that feel less entitled to everything with larger egos than some of them.
Sell a house, think they're ballers. I see the youngins acting like they're gods only to end up in our $ recovery department a few months after because they can't pay their bills anymore.

That said, there's also very nice ones that make up for it. They're usually the most successful ones too. Respect goes a long way.

Yup, have to do this with one of my supervisors. Not particularly fun

pb, ain't that the truth. I mean if there's one thing this jon has taught me is being polite and patient no matter how rude the client is. I mean, I've had people flip shit and stalk away fuming because they couldn't get a rise from me after being extremely rude. I just kind of chuckle at that
