You know better than that.. driving a truck through smallville TX. They'll ticket you for going 1 mph over. That's how they make their new car payments and lunch money.
Not sure if it applies in your case, but in TX you can get the ticket knocked off your record by paying the court fee (~$100) and taking defensive driving course (~$40, 8 hrs in class or online).

But buy directly from them: for the warranty and usually cheaper too: https://store.valentine1.com/store/ My V1 has been indispensible, I love it. They also don't believe in planned obsolescence. So they do upgrades where you'll send it in and they'll replace hardware/software when necessary for a nominal fee (I think last time, I paid $99, and they just sent me a brand new V1)
I've also hardwired so if (read:when) you buy it, I can show you how I did it.

I was in Houston when I got the ticket. I had just gotten off 610 onto 69/59 North.

Also, keep up-to-date on local laws. San Antone and Austin have hands-free laws in effect. Houston might be next. Next time you get a hand job while driving, be sure it's someone else's hand doing the deed.

It's the ECU telling you to calm down because it can't keep up with the motor has to be the best explanation for a CEL.
Can't say I've seen as many construction sites elsewhere, but most likely because I haven't lived in TO. Vancouver had a few cranes and shit, but that was in expectation of the Olympics.
