no idea how people stick around at a job they hate. you spend more time travelling to and being at work than outside of it (not counting sleeping). Might as well do something that makes you happy- otherwise that shit starts coming home with you

It's a 3km drive from my place to work, it's outside of Montreal so 0 traffic, and I know how to do everything here so it's easy peasy. Eventually you build a tolerance to some of the bullshit you see and it doesn't bother you as much. Get in at 8:30, leave at 5.


Need to look though, because I expect this place to crash in a few years + other downsides.

Sounds like you can make more money doing the same stuff elsewhere. Granted, your commute will likely be longer. But there's nothing worse than working for a severely cheap company. I'd rather eat razor blades.

The luxury of a 10 minutes commute is surprisingly hard to beat, but you're absolutely right in all other points. The salary isn't the shittiest point, the employers mindset is what's really toxic.
