x2, and maybe not all, but i would say at least 95% of them will deliver, and if not they will ship it by UPS/Fedex or somebody

also for getting a truck, you can also go rent a home depot truck, for like $20 for 75 minutes if it is close enough, or rent a uhaul

also as said a van will work too (including a mini-van [side-door with seats removed], just lay a tarp down first), just not as easy as a pick-up, cause you gotta watch the overhead clearence when useing a cherry picker and such

even your own car will do it, but the back end really be sagging though, and GL trying to get it in and out without damageing anything, but it more then likely will pyhiscally fit in there though

an suv can work too, just a matter of proably being harder to get in and out, even compared to a mini-van (higher door opening)

and i bet your pilot rode real nice with that much weight in there, let alone the amount of sagging it proably had

It wasn't that bad since I laid plywood down and had the weight more in the middle of the vehicle.....

Well, lets see 3- Js @ 350lbs each= 1050lbs and then a 6spd tranny for maybe 100, so only 1150lbs total, the Pilot can esily take that without drastic lowering.

Well guys I am just finishing up a 6spd swap into a 03 AV6 sedan, the AT is in good shape with 56K miles, the owner wants $600 for the tranny if anyone is interested. I did drive tyhe car before starting the swap and it shifted well and no slipping, the guy just wanted a MT put in.

Ooooooo, Ive always wanted to do that to a 7th gen, and I dont like the back of the 06-07 sedan so thats not an option.

What shifter did you use? The 06-07 6MT or the 5MT shifter from the 4 cylinder?

03-05 AV6 MT shifter, pedals, ect.., the only real hairy thing about is is re-working the fire wall where the clutch pedal goes, you have to pull the brake booster to get at it from the outside and pull the drivers fuse box and some other stuff to get to it from the inside.

Best three things to do for your AT----
1) Lift off the gas when it is shifting, the high tourqe when the next gear is engauging is what kills
2) Regular fluid and filter changes, yes there is a filter cartridge right on top of the tranny part number 9 in the link below...
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no
3)Add a trans cooler and get rid of the heat exchanger.....

Haha, I completely forgot about the coupe parts

I know the 03-05 Accord I4s were available with the 5MT, so I would assume all the mounting bosses and holes were already there on the V6 models, right? Or did Honda not use the same firewall?

I have swapped the fluid 2x and replaced the filter 1x in the last 20k, I have a trans cooler (same one Comptech marketed but not from them)

I did not know about the lift off.

The car has 179520 or so, the trans went in under recall at about 65k currently works like a charm but that could change anytime..

I want to rebuild when the Tbelt interval comes (about 40k from now as it was done late at 118k by the PO)

I'd think the best way for me to do it with you would be to truck it to you and drive it home.

I sent you a pm.

why not use the same fire wall???, just have to cover the holes; even the 2g TL's already have the "HOLES" for the clutch, they just have to be drilled out

Nope they did not, instead they have the chassis (headlight, ect) wire harness running right thru where the cluch goes, the hole does not even line up with the clutch, I end up making a adaptor base out of 3/8" aluminum and relocating the wire harness a few inches to a hole I make in the fire wall and gromnut. I know the CLs and 6th gens have dimples where it is all supposed to go, but not the 7th gens.

WOW, that blows, something that you expect from a domestic, but not a honda

maybe look at a subaru clutch pedal instead the reservior itself, is on the opposite side of the gas pedal

I would think you just have to check the bell housing before you buy.

oh ok didnt know the 08's were a no go. wouldnt it be better to stick with the 05-06 mainly because i kept hearing on the 3g side that the tranny issue didnt really get worked on until like the late 05 models.

Alright, here are my choices on car-part.com...

05 Odyssey with 27k miles at $1400
or
06 TL with 75k miles (a little less than the miles I have now) at $1100
or
06 TL with 22k miles, description says "notes" and I have to call to see how much it is gonna sell for...

Right now I'm leaning towards the Odyssey, that 2nd TL trans gives me a bad vibe (maybe the trans was busted in an accident?)

Alright, now what should my method be for choosing a good trans shop? Just pick a nearby place at atra.com?

Just wondering since I dunno how common or uncommon it is for shops to do this kind of thing, how experienced or comfortable they'd be, etc
