The motor mount thread
Im liking the front mount design, just curious if its better to have the top bracket horizontal or vertical (like it is). Im not an engineer, but I would think that the current way its designed, the bushing is basically twisting whenever load is on it. Having the top bracket vertical (parallel with the radiator) would put the forces across more of the bushing. I would think that would lead to longer life, but as I said, Im not an engineer.
Excelerate,
Is this design going to be available for us 99 tl-p owners too? I can't remember if the front mount location on a cl-s is the same on a tl-p, but it looks to be. The rear's hard to tell, but doesn't look the same. Also can we buy 1, 2 or three mounts or do they have to be purchased as a set? Any drive time in the cl-s with these mounts yet? What was the experience like?

If the 62a durometer is still like 20-25% stiffer than stock, I'll just rock these. 75a might be a little too hardcore for me, especially since I'll have the ingalls stiffy mount.

Roughly $300 for the set.
Ok, you can ask the tester to post up a video. Vibration was minimal and the bushing durometer on the mounts we installed were 75A.
Prototype Motor Mount Testing!
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you guys know that the protoype mounts have been installed on my car since saturday. I am in the process of testing them. I've got about 100 miles on them so far.
Look for a full review/write-up coming soon with more pics and vids. Was planing on doing the vibration test, start-up and driving videos. Any other suggestions on what you'd like to know or see please post your ideas in this thread.

i want to see how well they will hold up to axle-snapping type of conditions... (aka dump the clutch on some really grippy surfaces, and see how the mounts hold up)
and see if you can also get wheel hop, from the motor moving around too much

I still can't decide if I want to do the 62A or 75A...I'm still thinking 62A with the ingalls stiffy.
Also trying to determine which I would prefer 62 or 75, I feel with the added NRG and Ingall dampers the 62 should be sufficient! <---- Opinions
The Above Red text is quite contradicting to me, It seems that both 6 speed versions and auto versions will be available, but why do you need someone to send another Rear 6 speed mount to you?

So this transmission mount, does it go bad like our engine mounts? Ive got an EXTREME chassis vibration issue, Im trying to resolve...

Can you tell me if we still will need part #7 with the side mount? I break my in 3 more piece an I'm trying see if i need order that piece or just leave it out. I think just weight balance thingy
you're correct, it's just a damper, designed to reduce/remove vibrations. not necessary to put back on, but personally i did (in fact, it may not even work with the new mounts but who cares, it is less than a lb)

Whoa, I was looking at the mount pics again, and will the Ingalls stiffy be able to be used still?? It looks like the passenger side mount is completely different and no longer has the 2 mount bolts. Am I looking at it correctly?
you do not even need it with the stock mounts if wanted too, basically the reasoning for it being there is if any harmonics do come through the mount, that it dampens it out, so it does not go into the cabin (which is probably going to be even more important with stiffer mounts)
so do you really need to order it, not really; would it be a smart idea to help minimize any harmonics the aftermarket mounts might put into the car, probably
the ingall's does not actually attach to the side mount itself (which attaches to the body), but it actually attachs to the bracket [#11, and uses the #30 bolts] which attaches to the mount, which is remaining stock on the car)
What's the group price, and how soon are we getting these in? I'm leaning towards being a +1 for these as well, depending on how soon they become available.

I see people making a list. There is no Groupbuy per say but what I'm offering is a pre-buy special price. These mounts are going to sell for $300 for the set after this pre-buy. This pre-buy will last until the end of the month. I will not honor the pre-buy price after the end of the month. The mounts should be ready to ship in 4-5 weeks. So, if you order now, know that there will be a wait but the reward for the wait is an additional $40 off.

62A is for most daily drivers with minor bolt-ons. 75A is for street/light track cars.
let me pay later tonight (or tomorrow maybe), once i get homealso emailing you excellerate
and i know at least the 75 for me, if not the 90 even
so another question, i know you will let us order replacement bushings; especially if we want harder or softer ones at a later date, so my ? is, how much do those run...

; and yeah stock mounts did not last too long with me
(3-4 months)
Don't these have a 12 month warranty?
