I took it really really easy for 15 minutes. I got on the highway and never went past 1/2 throttle. Then, I started getting into it. At first you really don't feel the power. I suspect this is because the ECU is still adjusting. I got off the highway and on to a 2 lane road where I could make U-turns about every mile. By about the 3rd 0-80 run I really started to feel the power pick up. It feels like getting headers all over again.
couple things.

- I do belief that the car does need a little bit of them after its been reset to got back to its full performance potential.

- If you want to run in B map, I think you just leave it on B (with LED light always on), what you did seems like you just went from A to B then immediately back to A. So you were on A the whole time you were driving, not B. Just want to make sure thats what you were going for.

I think after about 1 or 2 driving cycles is really when the ECU settles down and the UniChip takes over. Remember the Chip makes corrections over the stock map, so if the stock ECU has to relearn everything, then you will not feel the gains right away.

Back from a 20 mile drive. 1st thing I noticed was smoother shifts... but that could just be because of the ECU reset when battery was d/c. I am always in SS, and 3rd to 4th is often a hard shift at high RPMS.... much more gentle now. 2nd pulls noticably better already... but nothing earth shattering. 3rd is still undecided until this thing settles into the new maps. Right now 3rd has MUCH less vtec tq than before. I know this because I practically live in 3rd and 4th on the highway (ya, thx no gas mileage). Downshifting from 4th to 3rd at 60-70 and going WOT used to surge the car forward. For now, it's a gradual pull with no real torque to speak of (relative to before). I'll have to re-teach it how it's supposed to accelerate over the next few days

BTW, did anyone else think that's quite a lot of hardware to "shove under the carpet"? Mine is still all hanging out... I had a problem getting it to all fit under there and smooth out the carpet.

Got mine installed ... I started taking pictures of the install until I realized it is so stupid easy to install that there's no point in pictures.

Basically, you just pull the carpet away from the car, it should come off the velcro pretty easily.. then you just unplug the first three ECU plugs (if you go from the one closest to you)... I ended up unplugging the last ECU plug too because I couldn't get the 3rd one loose w/o pulling out the last one.

There's definitely not enough room to have the PnP unit and the UniChip behind the carpet. I buried the PnP unit behind the carpet as best as possible and then left the Unichip sitting on the "top" of my all season floor mats.

I tried driving in both mode 'A' and mode 'B', and I really didn't notice too much of a performance difference with either. The car seemed to be more peppy down low and seemed more willing to rev up high, but its not like the headers where this mod is 100% totally noticeable. I don't doubt the gains, but I'm not sure if you can 'feel' a 10whp gain even if it is across the entire rpm range.

Again, installation was super easy ... I stupidly unplugged my battery which I probably didn't really HAVE to do. Getting the negative terminal back onto the battery nice and tight with the tools I had was the hardest part! I had to give it a lot of force to get it to squeeze tight. Otherwise the install was EASY! No CEL from driving around for about 10 minutes with Mode 'B' turned on either.

If anyone wants, I can post the first few pictures I took ... I just decided to stop because there was no point with it being so straight forward and easy.

The directions tell you to remove the negative terminal on the battery.

Pics never hurt, so go ahead and post them.

When I switched to Map B I was still parked, before I did any driving. I started the car in Map A, everything sounded good. Turned the car off, switched to Map B. Started the car, LED turned on. No CEL. Turned the car off, removed the key. Back to Map A. Drove away.

Oh and 3rd gear takes me all the way to 110 mph at 7300 rpm.

I've put about 100 miles on the Uni-Chip and you will definitely feel the gains. Dyno tomorrow. Possibly down the 1/4 mile Saturday night; if the weather allows.

I haven't put my carpet back 100% since I need to un-install the chip tomorrow and re-install it while i'm at the dyno shop. It appears like there might be a small lump. The PnP harness is quite large.

I noticed the same thing on my first WOT run in 2nd and 3rd. I did alot of driving tonight, both hard and light throttle runs. The torque is definitely back.

Yeah I got a horrid lump in my carpet..but next week I'll bring it remove everything and mount properly to rid of that. I was just to exited to go a drive to worry about the carpte.

As for the roadtest. Feels much stronger in Vtec..pulls nicely but before 4700 rpm it's kinda un-noticable. It did however get quicker as the night went on and will prolly improve more within the next few days. i also gotta remember that were in the middle of June and the temps ain't too car-happy. Overall I am pleased w/ the power increase but not impressed. I was expecting too much I guess but like I said..I am happy. Hurry up w/ the dynos man!!

i was better safe than sorry on the negitive cable. Messing around with cars ecu, & 3 different plugs could be pretty spendy if i was to short circuit something. Try explaining that to acura. I had to of coarse find my codes for the navi & the radio, which was kinda of a pain in the ass. But its a done deal & i'm happy.

i didn't really have a lump in my carpet, but kinda of a crease. i can no longer reach the original velcro patch. the unit fits in there pretty well if you put it in the crease between the round tranny area & the flat of the floor board, & then gently distribute the PnP harness wires.

Did any one have a hard time connecting the forward most plug, I felt like a contorsionist, The oem plug was so damn short. another thing i'm not sure if i got my question answered, Ok if i turn off my unichip when going to the dealer, will they be able to detect it, if they put it on the scope. I know thier not going to look under my carpet. Like i said last night, I dont want to have to pull my unit out. P.s sorry if i'm bogarting right now, I worked 16 hours today & am trying to catch up

Ohhh.. Ouch.. Ask Mattg. I think you two are the only ones that have the Nos application. Ours came to $608 - $100 deposit for a total of $508 balance due..

Definetly a type of crease in the carpet, but less noticeable with floormat back in ..

Does anyone elses memory seats and auto driver window up\down not work after? I figured it out though.

Late for work, will report more on first driving impressions and etc when I get home.

The price they set us up with is awesome.. Before they said their standard shipping was Overnight if I remember correctly.. I wonder if they cut some of those costs and just had us pay shipping, either way it worked out great..

Steve - Drive a ton more today before you get her to the dyno to let the ECU settings settle so we can see some good numbers..

I had no problem putting the carpet back. You can't notice a thing. I kinda wedged the PnP right by the ECU and put the Unichip right in front of the loom, Right where your feet would be. There's plenty of space up there.

Also, car runs much smoother. Shifts aren't as rough. VTEC is also much smoother. The engine doesn't sound like it's struggling.

I think you missed my previous post... a few pages back

What exactly do you mean by turning it off? you mean unplugging it? If so, then no, the dealer will not be able to detect anything unusual.

Yep. Already thought of that. 1st runs will be with Map A, then probably 2 with Map B running 100+ octane, then i'll uninstall the chip for baseline.
