Yeah we should double check that. I'm looking at the Helms now trying to verify it one way or the other. Jack seemed totally certain that it would work.

Well I've been staring at the pin outs for the A/T ECU versus the 6-speed ECU and I don't see how the harnesses would be compatible in any way. The pin outs are totally different. I'll give Jack a call tommorow and see what he has to say. It looks like they would at least have to make another harness for the 6-speed. He seemed very sure it would work but after looking at the pin outs I just don't see it. Sorry if I got you guys excited over nothing. I'll double check with Jack.

I'm assuming it will take about a month to produce the harness and have the chip programmed and at that point the balance would be due...

I've got an e-mail in to Unichip about the 6-speed. I'll also call Jack later to see if it's a problem to make a 6-speed harness. They are way different not just extra plugs for the auto like he thought. The chip should be fine though. It sounded to me like he mainly wants to dyno a 6-speed so they can show more gains and get more accurate numbers.

That is great about the 6speed, but I still think we need to get a car out there to be dyno'd. I want it, I will buy it, but seriously, I would like to have a car out there so they can make any final revisions to the mapping and so forth. Anyone agreee? Disagree?

^^yes i agree, so what is the word on the six speed??, because I don't think many of the six speeders will buy it if we don't get the pnp adapter (assumption), isnt that what is holding it up?, it sounds like the mapping would almost work for us anyway and the dyno would just be extra...

I have been reading the posts and there appears to be some confusion as to whether the PNP from the auto will work. I am sure this is easily resolved. However, I still think we need to make sure the mapping is propper. Anyone else out there have a thought on this issue?

I agree it would be nice to have them dyno one first. The map will work with the 6-speed. There may or may not be more gains to be had but now is the time if we want to get them to do a 6-speed harness. I e-mailed them and will call later to see what can be done. I for one would definitely like to have the pnp adapter unless it was waaaaay cheaper without it. Are all 10 6-speeders in if this goes through?

Just talked to Jack. He was busy getting ready for a meeting but he said he read my e-mail and would do some research. He said he thought that the '01 and '02 6-speeds had the same harness as the auto but the '03 auto and 6-speeds were different. Hmmmmm.........Well I guess he's not an Acura guy. He said he will check it out but he'll probably find out the same thing I did and that is the harnesses are totally different with different functions going to different plugs. Also not one plug from the auto matches one from the 6-speed. He says if he has to do another harness it will cost more to get the 6-speed. He's going to let me know what the deal is. Looks like we may have to do a seperate buy for the 6-speed.

Yeah he was un aware that the 6-speed was only available on the '03 type-s. Hopefully he will still be interested in doing it when he figures out there are less than 3000 6-speeds out there.
I guess we can always hardwire it or get someone to make a harness.

Nice! Now with 30, you guys are paying under $700 now!

Anyone with there family that has even a stock 6speed in Portland area?? I'm willing to donate my H/I/E as long as they cover labor.

And yes, I bought the 6speed version of the CT header.

Yeah I told him we had 10 6-speeders. I think he'll make us a harness. Just need to find out how much. Hopefully I'll hear back from him soon.
