Well 280hp with a shitty tune, I'm wondering what I can get with a good tune. Maybe I need to ship my car to Hondata or Vit location. Trying to scratch this itch I have....

Maybe he is referring to the stock max boost. You know like stock , the RDX runs 13-14 psi of boost until 4500 RPM, decreasing to 8 psi at 6500 RPM.

I'm sure not all across the entire RPM band, not without a upgraded or aftermarket turbo.

need to ship it out there and get doug and vit to sign off on it that way there is no more shenanigans. maybe hondata is worried about the backyard enthusiast like myself blowing up his car because we might not understand every facet of flash pro. I know I don't know it like vit does (but I do know it better then some shops) but I've managed to get some decent numbers and it drives well for the most part when I run a proven tune and I'm not exceeding the current limits.

I guess what I'm saying is I would rather have the option to have more adjustment then a forced baby sitter. I've called around read some books and done my homework to get where I am. and ill do it again once we get new parameters to work in.

what are your thoughts ken?

jeez just realized that was long winded.

Well heck, let me get it back together and we'll see what I can do about shipping it out there.

I know we have some guys out there in Oregon, are you guys willing to help?

Most of them will be having around 300 whp on the same dyno where Ken has 280. The difference is in the IAT. Its rarely coming out of +45C on +30C day. The difference between TMIC and a2w ic is 25-35C which is huge. This allows you to have more aggressive tune. Along with what Ken already has this setup will bring him to 300-315 whp easily.
There is also another build in Russia that has Garrett turbo swap, a2w ic and some other goodies. Around 330 whp.
Thats what you need in order to get ~13s quarter.

Did that Garrett turbo swap have a built block?

I'll get you some details later today. I think its a very doable stuff for you considering you have access to all the tools in the dealership where you work.

Nope, the setup you mentioned is a 400+ whp thing. That monster cannot start to move without spinning all 4 wheels.

Thats why I laughed on the "its gonna be first ever FMIC setup" )))

It would be nice to get a big named turbo shop like (Full-race, Greddy, PRL, etc) to get one of our CUV's in and build us a turbo kit. I can only wish....

At 330whp, given a proper launch a high 12 should be doable.

Completely different cars, but some food for thought. The Macan turbo, weighs roughly 300lbs more than the RDX and dyno's at circa 330whp. They have been running high 12's at 106-107

Biggest advantage the Macan has besides everything else is the PDK and launch mode. If we can get a stall, I could see good ET modded RDX's and broken axles...

Actually looked at those. Then I thought I could probably put less then 75k in my RDX and make run 10s.

I came really close to buying either a Macan S, or GLA45.

Then the horror stories of blown turbos for the CLA45 (Powertrain is Identical) and the issues the Macan platform is having made we wait.

Figured, I found this RDX for 40K less, can have fun with it while they work out the kinks on the other platforms.

The Macan and the GLA are nothing short of spectacular. One of those two will be the RDX's replacement.

Dude, just do what I'm doing. Make your RDX look and perform like them. (BBK, go fast goodies, etc)!

While we may get near the performance of a stock Macan S. I think the GLA45 and Macan Turbo are a very tall order with the RDX's limited after market.

Also, I am absolutely in love with the way the Macan looks.

After driving it, I am sold. I test drove one with the Sport Chrono pack, and PTV rearend(Much like SH-AWD). Just everything about it is amazing, the ride/handling, steering feel, power, interior, etc. It is the first car in a long time to surpass all my expectations, that was just the S!

Don't get me wrong, the 1st Gen RDX is an awesome SUV, and for the money it simply cannot be beat.

ken if you have a shitty tune why not just do the etune from vit? I spent a entire night reading reviews from the 8th gen guys and it really sold me on his skillz. people where sitting in front of there pc's clicking refresh waiting for their newest calibration, he's that good hahha. I still have not heard back from matt on the time that they would need the truck for. Maybe they got cold feet? Im sure if plenty of us rdx owners pushed them.. they would figure it out for us. The russian's love the rdx's for some reason.. alot of videos of them. The gt28 would run friggin sweet on the k23 and want to see videos of that guys. Gt28 or a gt30. I was thinking of running a Water to Air intercooler myself and getting away from the air to air. I am also in the process of trying to bend up a heatshield to protect the intake manifold from all the heat from the radiator. once those fans kick on.. talk about a heat soaked intake manifold. Next issue.. anyone run a colder thermostat? I dont like these 190's so maybe a 170F one? Could we use any k-series one?

I don't know what my car is capable of, but I made 280hp a not so good tune. But now I am with Vitviper, so we will see what happens next.

im not sure we are getting heat soak from the intercooler I had 111 degree intake temps from mine the other day. the ambient temp was 32 degrees. and it was snowing... the intake gets hot as hell from the radiator, A/C condenser, and various other heat exchangers. I'll look into getting a Water to Air intercooler.

Talk about brand loyalty! While I may not be that dedicated to a brand, I am a Porschephile at heart.
