Wow that seat is beautiful and that is a pretty massive weight savings. What do they say, -100lbs. = -.1s?

2010 Acura RDX Front-Wheel Drive Road Test ? Review ? Car and Driver
Definitely a typo on the first article. For example the new RDX is 40/60 AWD and 39/61 FWD, straight from Acura's own website. This is in line with pretty much every other FWD / FWD-based-AWD vehicle on the market.

Lots of discussion out there on the what the ideal weight balance is though, especially for FWD / FWD-based-AWD cars - good reading material if you get bored! Let's just say 50/50 isn't always the answer (but it certainly isn't a bad place to start).

So what are next steps now that it's running? Any major assembly still to be done or is it pretty much ready for tuning?

But that is what is confusing to me, the older RDX had a much lighter engine and a much heavier rear diff assembly for the sh awd system, so in my mind the closer to 50/50 numbers make more sense.

I do however know that car and driver hasn't exactly had the right info in the past either (like how they say the same car with 2 completely different sized engines but same trannies go to 60 in the same speed) .

Prothane, just waiting on them to send the suspension back. Then the turning begins.

Thanks, would love to start delivering cakes in the RDX again. This was last weekend, I wonder if it would have stayed in one piece with the polyurethane suspension?!?

I can't take the credit for the cake's, it's the wife who does all the cake decorating; however, I'm currently in the process of learning how. Hehe, I'm one hell of a delivery guy though.

Oh ok, well make sure she knows she is incredibly talented and I would love to have her services for a wedding cake if you guys were local. Haha isn't delivery half the job? You can make the best cake in the universe, if it isn't delivered, it isn't helping anyone. So feel free to take half the credit! Haha

Why would you want to upgrade the stock injectors? I hear those are good for 450-600hp stock. They always use these RDX stock injectors in Acura NSX with super-charged or turbo'd options. Plus you have to re-tune to get the fuel mapping corrected.

idle sounds good sounds like the exhaust might have a good growl to it but you never gave it some more gas to hear =( will there be another with you giving it alittle throttle? =)

I noticed a few guy's on here have RDX. I was curious if you would opt to upgrade your stock radiator for a 2-row full aluminum conversion?

The OEM has the following spec's, Current dimensions 6.75 x 30.18 x 1.06 in. core size, 31.37 x 2 in. tank inlet/outlet size, 1.25 in. top left hose fittings, 1.25 in. bottom left hose fittings, 14.75 in. plate type transmission oil cooler size.

We could get these build to spec's or increase the size to 1.25 or 1.5 thick, but the draw back is who could build these and who would want to upgrade?

I know after messaging all the radiator companies, only thing I found was koyo OE. But this still had all the cheap plastic stuff and I doubt it's a high performance option.

I found a supplier, but they have a 10 piece minimum. Who's in?

The RDX 410cc injectors were nearly maxed out when tuning. Not all cars are the same, especially the high compression cars you speak of.

Not to mention the NSX would use two more of the injectors, effectively gaining 50% more power potential all else equal

Yeah, I'll have to make another video soon. There is no exhaust on it, just downpipe.

Unknown, unknown, and you don't need a bov with an efr turbo, it's built-in.

What other transmissions that are manual to bolt up to this motor? I was thinking about building an integra with a K23a1. Not sure if it's worth converting this to type-sh, then I would have to keep the stock tranny.

This is a K20a transmission, it doesn't line up with our engine.

I noticed the photos and do read a lot of forums. Some custom builds are using a j series tranny with custom mount brackets from has port. I was told from a Honda tech that any v6 accord or TL transmission would work. Has anyone tested the conclusion?

What did this guy use on his K23a1?

Also, I'm curious to how many psi you were running before the injectors ran lean?
Was this after the turbo swap or before?
I'm running 20psi daily and no issues on sunoco 93'.

I had another friend who's got a shop. He didn't believe me when I told him I had hondata flashed ECU. We connected up the obd reader and it measured the vacuum at 19.5psi. I wanted to get a flash pro, but never wanted to do anything beyond simple performance mod's to keep it as a daily driver. The engine only get's hot when I pull a trailer up the mountain and hold the boost ALL the WAY for a while. It run's better if I use sports mode and let v-tec kick in with low boost. It will pull a 3K lbs trailer through the mountains.

The only thing I have done to the engine since I got the whip is Amsoil signature (25K) "changing every 4500 miles, new iridium plugs, K&N, Hondata-ECU, exhaust "new after wreck", brembo breaks with custom stainless steel break lines "major improvement in stoppage" and always premium gas. It actually improved my MPG's with the new flashed ECU 1-2mpg's improvement.

I will see about getting some screenshots of the 20 psi, it's exactly 19.5psi all day long. I'm going to get a custom 2 pass racing full aluminum radiator to assist with cooling-performance, plus bolt on ETS intercooler upgrade, swap plugs again for a tune up and fuel treatment. After that I plan on doing something with a turbo rebuild to increase CFM's, but I will still keep it stock since I drive too many miles. I was thinking a upgraded wheel and ceramic bearings. I was also looking at a new BOV, checked out turboXS. I wasn't up for drilling holes in the plastic intercooler cover, so I wanted to get the older Greddy Type-S BOV to hold boost to pull harder. I will post photos soon as she's a beast. Smoking Porsche and Crustangs all day long!!!

Did they do a start up/rev or anything fun?

Exhaust sound was nice, better then GTR. Not much revving, cool thing was they were getting satellite tuning from headquarters via internet/WiFi. I wish we could get live tuning. Brakes were crazy big, the sticky was listed $150,000. Not bad considering the price of the old ones. They will be leaving today to continue their journey. It's good to know that this is a sure thing, unlike the Civic Type-r which they gave me an unsure look when I asked.
