Yikes I haven't logged in for quite some time and come back to see a totalled TL. Sorry to hear David. In the end at least you weren't hurt. Assuming that thing is going to be a write off, hopefully you have receipts or documentation for any major service you did to the vehicle. It may help add a bit of value back to the car when negotiating the pay out they'll give you.
When my Dad's suv was totalled they initially gave me a pay out but I didn't accept it right away and tried to get more back. His suv was in great condition, recently had nearly $1000 done in maintenance, and was on 1 season old brand new winter tires and rims. I had several receipts outlining everything done and proof of purchases. I was able to get about an extra $600 so it may very well be worth it for the extra effort. Best of luck. I'd be curious to hear what they're willing to pay you out for your year and km.

Service and maintenance
Hey guys,
Where in edmonton are you getting your regular services done. Oil changes and regular maintenance. Acura dealer? Mr lube? Doing it yourself? And are you going with regular or synthetic ? Changing every 5k?
Thanks !

You will save yourself a whole lot of money by doing things yourself. Buy yourself a ratchet set from Crapy Tire, a set of screw drivers and you can pretty much take the entire car apart.

Hey guys, thanks for your concern regarding my situation. Suppose to get my money this week and then I'll be getting a new vehicle shortly. The whole driver side on my TL-S is mashed so it be a lot of trouble to try and part out my ATLP.
If anyone is interested I'm selling my winters that are mounted on Type-S rims that were previously powdercoated. 2 of them are Michelin X-Ice 3 tires with one season under them, the other 2 are Michelin X-Ice tires that will last about another 2 seasons. Looking for 1200 but will listen to offers, let me know if any of you guys are interested.

haha before I came into this thread this morning I had a feeling that would be the car too.
I was looking at them on kijiji, some nice ones can be had for relatively cheap. If I wasn't in the FX35 right now, I would most probably be getting one of those too.
I have driven a G37s when my buddy got it years ago and I thought it was a pretty nice ride.

Tint
Hey guys I'm getting my windows (7) tinted at blackout tinting tomorrow. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the classic tint $330 vs the pinnacle series (ceramic) $495. It's supposedly higher quality and keeps a lot more heat out of the car. Anyone have experience with the two types and ever notice a difference ?
Thanks !
Thanks !

I ended up going with the regular stuff. Save that 160$ for new rims! I put %50 on front and %30 on back. I'll post a pic when I get a chance. Thanks for the info!

Our Pilot was recently damaged on one of the doors; looking at it, I think someone shot it with a BB gun. Deep dent and the paint has started flaking away. I've got a couple estimates at between $1000 to $1200, but my insurer tells me that they need to send out their own appraiser unless I go with one of their "approved" shops. these include:
Fusion Collision
L-Jay Autobody
Dougs Place
Herbers
CarStar Collision
Jim Young Autobody
I've personally had bad luck with Doug, and my wife was less than impressed by Carstar. Any thoughts from this group are appreciated, though.

Have not been on in a while and terrible coming back here to see a fellow members TL totaled. I was lucky I was able to fix mine without it getting written off. Glad you're ok tho! That G37S is a nice ride! I'd be interested in the wheels but I don't really need the tires lol
I think he meant this coming Sunday which is the 26th.

Any opinions or feedback on Topline for bodywork? I know that Arenham was referred there by West Side Acura a little while back, so that's likely good enough for me, but thought I'd check.
