So, that will be just about a $600 check coming back to me!! It is nice to be finally driving my ride!!

Now for the tuff question, should I play with the TL (as in mod the crap out of it) or buy this Nissan 240 that I have been looking at to play with and keep the TL stock and as my daily "beater"???? Acurazine gods, what shall I do???

We're gonna hang out at Starbucks for about half an hour or so. There is going to be some bookworm thing going on in Addison Circle so we're going to wait it out a bit and get to know everyone before we roll over to the destination spot.

This is what I posted on the TL meet and greet subforum on TL:

When: Saturday November 6th, 2004 3PM
Where: We're meeting @ Starbucks off of the Tollway and Beltline on the Southwest corner. It is in between Kobe Steaks and CD World. There is also a Buffalo Wild Wings and Freebirds in the same parking lot.

We're going to hang out at Starbucks (or the parking lot) for about half an hour or so cause there is a book fair going on in Addison Cricle that ends at 3 so we'll give the bookworns enough time to clear out before we take over. For those who show up REALLY late and don't see an Acurazine people, we will be cruising to the Addison Conference Center afterwards. Take Addison Rd north to Addison Circle, take a right and then the first left. These parking spots have high hedges so it'll make for a good backdrop.

Who: Any and all Acurazine members. Doesn't matter what your ride is as some of us (like me) are still shopping for cars and would like to get some insight on other members think about their rides.

What: When you head to starbucks, see about backing up into your parking space so when people start showing up, they will be able to tell who's who. I will be parking in the spots that are closest to Beltlien. When we get to the Addison Conference Center, park with your car groups.... i.e. TL, TSX, CL, then us misc people like RSX, Accords, etc. When we meet up in the second spot, there is a huge park across the street and we were just gonna play around. Wolfpack suggested frisbee, I could bring a football, or just lounge around talk and take pictures. I will be bringing my camera/tripod. If anyone else wants to bring their's, that would be great.

Note about street racing: Do this on your own time. I don't want the Addison Police Department harking on us and have our group be known as racers. Been there, done that. If you really want to show off, do it far away from us.

If anyone needs directions, PM/IM/Email me or Wolfpack. Other than that, hope to see you guys at 3PM at Starbucks on Saturday. Oh and I'll be keeping an eye out for the weather. In the event that God wants to thrown down some rain, we'll figure out an alternate spot for the meet...but that is only if.... See you guys and gals!

North Dallasish, probably Frisco, but I'm not committed to Frisco.

Scroll all the way down for a teaser pic.

InfernoTLS....Travis! You should've stayed longer! haha. I wanted to pick your brain about the STI. We finally got some pictures in and ATXCLS showed up as well. We went out for just a little bit for some food at fridays. Next time we'll just go straight to meeting place and do pictures and stuff. I would've liked to get pics of the S2k and Lancer. I want to try to replan this with the help of some other members.

Nice to meet everyone (and see you again, Hanzie). Imagine that--an Evo and an STi showing up at an Acura meet. Next thing you know, Acura will release an AWD car just to get us back!

next time we'll just meet up at one spot so we can take pics. A total of 8+ cars showed up but also 3 or 4 left early.

Hey Mobilezen, I just cleared my pm box. I would love to chit chat sometime about the STi--I know a little more about it now that I have been driving/tracking it for a year! Cheers, Inferno

Looks like they are done for 2004. I didnt see anything listed on their website.

Though, they have been known to hold open racing without announcing it.

OK, I just gotta say a few things about the STi. Sorry in advance.

First, the break pads are amazing--the rotors can be red hot and the pads are still grippy! Tuning a turbo is a lot different than getting power out of a VTEC NA motor. Can you say "plug and play"?

Biggest single improvement coming up: after this weekend, I'm going to get new tires: RA-1s for the track. I love Toyo! I was going to do that for this weekend, but I didn't want to buy them, use them once, and store them until next spring when I get back to the track.

After I save up a little: turbo back exaust (includes cast SS downpipe, high flow cat, and 3" pipes). This will bring HP up to 350 and TQ up to 385!

Also, I have solid ball endlinks for the sway bars. Makes for an even compression of the sway bar rather than progressive (as the rubber compresses) like the stock endlinks. Plus they are adjustable so no problems with pre-loading the bar!

Cheers, Inferno

Civic, would you be looking for new or used? Go to Subaru of Dallas and ask for Bank Heist (screen name from NASIOC)--I wish I could remember his "name." He is very cool and will help you get a good deal. I don't know the going prices but you are talking in the 30K range (yeah, you knew that already). The 2005 has 8" wheels and better cup holders (both of which make a big difference). Let me know when you are back in the area! Inferno

OK: who got their recall notice in the mail yesterday? I did. I turn my back on Acura for a minute and the next thing you know Acura has recalled their "not a problem" transmision. I know, this has been discussed here/elsewhere to death. But so what--this is my 2 minutes to btch! Plus they were stupid enough to install it on the 2004 TL when they knew it was a problem from the 2000 model. ???

I hope we're not being recalled to have a "new" tranny placed, even if ours are not "damaged". I don't want them touching mine, fluid is light red and shifting fine w/ lube jet in place .
