Its not a very active site but it seems so hard to find a lot of information about modifications to V6s I think we should support this for our on selfish enterests.

I kept thinking this guy is a nut the way he was driving.

I'm talking with ferrizo. He'll be down Fri @ 3, and leaving Sunday @ 5. His schedule is pretty tight. He said hes going to New Orleans Nights on Friday night, some titty bar, anyone ever heard of it?

Anyway, hes booked on Saturday with a wedding, and we were thinking about catching a beer during the eagles / giants game on Sunday.

Give you more details as we iron it out in case you're interested.

So what's the details on the next race meet? Oct 24th? Other?

Too bad we can't have a daytime race meet. Track will be warmer and we'd have our best times.

Looks like Nov 8th is a LTI event.

http://www.texasmotorplex.com/calend...h=11&year=2003

I'd really like to pull off a day time event if possible. So who would like to or better yet, who will do the 8th?

What do you guys know about replacement shocks?
The KONI Yellow Sport shocks are pretty pricy, so I want to at least look around at the other options (Tokico, KYB, Bilstein, etc). Any recommendations?

How about adjustability? Big deal, not so big a deal? I figure that would be pretty cool.

Tokico Illumina $439 for 4
KONI Sport $627 for 4

Both adjustable, both seem like good ones.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, as I'll be buying a set in the next couple days.

i don't know much about shocks either. I never pay attention to the threads cause I'm not planning on buying any soon. A search in car talk might pull up some useful info.

Yeah, I did a search but found surprisingly low count regarding shocks. Mostly chat about springs.

I did find a cheaper place to get KONI Yellows $592 shipped. I'll probably just go with them because they're trusted and everyone who has them loves them.

There's discussion about adjusting ride height with them. That has my interest, though I'm not sure how that would work.

is it just me, or do you guys have days where you can't make yourself get to work for anything! I'm just not in the mood to be sitting in an office today, I just keep staring out the window wanting to be outside, I can't keep my mind on track. Does that happen a lot to you working guys?

I had the Tokico's. They were good. By brother got kyb's on his civic. They are basically identical. The only diff, between mine and his were the number of adjustments. He had several settings, where i had like 4 or 5 i think. I didnt notice a difference riding in his and mine. We always kept ours on the stiffest setting.

there are days when I get VERY and I mean VERY little done. Then there are days when I bust my ass. I've been more or less busting it all week. tomorrow is a half day, and I'm gonna blow it off.

I procrastinate bad sometimes. My boss overestimated the time it would take for this project I'm working on, and I still planned on having it done about a month early... but then, he comes to me yesterday and is like "so how's that app coming? well, you got 4 days." So now, after kinda cruising for a month, I have to get this thing finished now.

I hooked up with Jay, the guy in the 99 TL that was wanting the hear an icebox the other night. He has some Tiens and the set up is really neat. Change your ride feel on the fly. But to change the ride hight requires some manual labor.

Jay's got a few mods on his ride and the short ram sounds like a ramjet taking off.

I told him he needed to hang out here some more instead of the TL forum. :P

there is no maintenance what so ever on the chain. nissan guarantees the chain for the life of the motor. HOWEVER, the timing chain tensioner can go out (rare). I think Nissan planned for that because there is a special small plate that covers the tensioner that is on the timing chain cover. So, it comes off without having to take the chain cover off. The unit utilizes oil pressure, ie oil pressure builds up and pushes the tensioner which in turns tightens the chain. It just recently started, so i'm thinkin I'll change my oil first and see if a heavier weight oil fixes my problem

oh well... another mod meet for me.

i dropped by mcdavid today cuz of their "customer appreciation week" where they give that free 45pt inspection. i thought it'd be good since my brakes were going bad. so i get my car back, and they tell me everything is fine. then i ask about the brakes specifically, and the service guy's response (ken) was: "oh, this 45pt inspection is just visual; we inspect the brakes by looking at it while your car is on the lift- and it looked fine. we dont actually take off the wheels"

so.. there it is.. there's no free lunch right? if its free, its worthless

oh wait, as part of the appreciation week, i got a "free gift"
it included a cheap plastic flashlight that looked like it would break if i dropped it 2ft, a can of fix a flat, and small tin of mints with a TSX on the cover!

at least my breath will be acura fresh
