iPhone: OS 3.0
From the Q&A session afterwards...
Q: Is there a physical hardware problem on the first-gen iPhone that prevents it from doing MMS.
A: It’s a different radio, so it is a physical issue.
One thing I didn't see in here that blows if it's indeed still missing, is the ability to read document files without them being email attachments. It's annoying as f*ck having to email yourself a pdf file or Word doc.

Works great.
software. I am speculating there will be a phone as well.
The 32gb version of the iphone was NOT released at Xmas as rumored. And the original (my) 2 year contract with AT&T ends in June...Not that I need to be enticed to stick with the iphone...but a new one wouldnt hurt.

Thanks for the tip. I've found my browsing int he app store tends to be infrequent and usually for non-productive when it does occur.
wifi
same here...I happened on that one last year when they doing a free promo so I grabbed it.

you guys are totally overlooking the most important announcement...the use of 3rd party dock/connector port/bluetooth connected accessories...
this is life changing, game changing, and will absolutely ensure even more widespread use of iPhones for various life tasks...
blood pressure patients get the iCuff and can automatically report their hourly etc pressure to their dr directly through the iPhone/app.

So is it worth waiting for the new release? I am do for an upgrade in May, want to get an iPhone. Would it be better to wait or can I just update the software when the new software is released. Will it be a free update or do you have to pay? I didn't see that info in the articles I read.

So do you guys have any guesses as to what the changes will be with a new phone? Just bigger hard drives? I am actually cool with 8gb, so if that is the only real difference I would be ok not waiting.
The only hardware rumor I've seen is the dual LCD screen in the front. I don't think that will be out this year.

The iphone just became that much better with this announcement. Lets just hope they don't stiff us on some of the important features like they did after assuring us PUSH would be available and then decided to yank it.
There will always be people that complain that its not enough, but this device single handedly does much more than any other device taking its size, weight into consideration and not to mention looks and ease of use. Show me another device that is so user friendly. Afterall this isn't some computer, its a multimedia phone that does some sick shit.

I wouldn't even know where to start with taking one of these things apart... I saw the replacement screen on that site and thought why not post up a link...

OK giz has a walkthrough of the new OS 3.0 beta and it's got some cool stuff. Un fortunately you have to be a developer and have paid the $100 fee in order to download the beta. But giz say's it stable!

When showing off C&P you were able to C&P just a part of the picture and not the whole thing, that's badass

Stocks work in Landscape mode

You can now "share contact"

I noticed in the giz walkthrough that there was no mention as to whether C&P worked with MS Office, iWork or PDF documents so I emailed Jason Chen (head dude @giz) and responded that he hadn't done it and he was going to do it now. So we'll find out soon.

I wonder if they'll add in a way to cancel the sending a message. There have been times when I've accidentally hit send with a blank message or a typo in my message but couldn't cancel it while it was attempting to be sent.
here's a feature alot of you guys have asked for, the ability to turn off the sms previews on the home screen! Also you can turn off repeat alerts for sms. Which I'd use cause I usually just read the preview and go back to what I'm doing and annoying to be alerted again to a message that I've already read.

but I had already made the fool of myself.
I said I was in agreement with others that a new phone will probably be released.
I misread YOU....
