iPhone: OS 3.0
Don't get pissed at me because you can't figure it out man. Not sure what SW or computer you're using, but follow the link and pick what you are trying to do.

Telling me it worked for you when I saying Im having problems and need simple instructions does nothing but make me more pissed off.
And I really don't care about how pissed off you choose to get.
But here is a breakdown:
Me: This isnt working and I need better instructions.
You: Worked for me
Summation: Someone asks for help and you give an idiot reply. Its kind of a think before you speak matter.
It was nice you however to finally give me the iclarified link.
Nor do I expect you to.

One thing I noticed, not sure if any one else has, but today my phone felt like it was really bogged down... When I slid the button to unlock it would make the noise and then freeze for a couple seconds then show the home screen, or when I pushed Phone, it would freeze for about 5 seconds. I wasn't using it much today and don't have very many apps (4 pages) or music (1GB)...
I restarted it and it's back to normal now. It hasn't been shut off since it was updated, a week ago.
Anybody else? It's an 8GB 3G with 3.0

I don't know but my old iPhone 2G was a turd. sluggish half the time, a lot of apps took a while to load, browsing without WiFi was slow as balls, phone would occasionally freeze out of nowhere (even ones pre-installed on the phone) and sometimes required a restart when it would freeze. A lot of buggy apps, even after updates. Couldn't tell whether it was the phone or not, but a lot of times Safari crashed on me randomly.... loading text-only pages. There were times where my phone pissed me off so much that I wanted to smash it to pieces with a sledgehammer, piss on the remains, smother it with napalm then extinguish it with a hot-n-steamy pile of
No problems yet with my 3GS *knock on wood infinity times* and its SO MUCH faster than my old iPhone its not even funny. You just can't deny the sheer number of apps available for the iPhone. Incredibly useful device, made even better with 3.0 but sadly my old one was a lemon.

I always had the up-to-date software, and I tried restoring it to factory defaults a couple of times, which did help. But eventually I stopped downloading apps because the more I had, the more problems my phone seemed to have.
I think my problems were semi-unique since I used my iPhone to listen to music in my car and it got HOT after a while. What pissed me off though was when I was listening to music on it in-car, then I took a call from the phone while it was still plugged in and in my glovebox (BT headset) and then when the call ended the music stopped and couldn't be played again unless I reset the phone. Pissed me off to no end, I'd have to pull over to do the above.

Wouldn't be surprised, it does happen.... and it pissed me off that it seemed like I was one of the few people that stuff was happening to.
On the other hand I'm LOVING how fast the 3GS is. Non-wifi Internet, mundane tasks, playing games on the phone..... it doesn't matter, doesn't lag or stutter!

Aww man. I sat and read a bunch of comments on Dev Team's ultrasnow blog and a lot of them got locked out even after ultrasnow. There are other problems too like being stuck during the jailbreak/unlock, No Sim, Wifi not working, reboot super slow, battery drains fast, and on and on. Have anyone with an unlocked using ultrasnow have any problems so far?
It seems as though most of the guys that has problems with unlock were using Macs and they had to update something in Mac in order to unlock the iPhone correctly.

iPhone 3GS exploit confirmed, jailbreak and unlock coming 'soon'

And so it continues. Geohot has returned with some help from hacking buddies chronic, posixninja, and pod2g with news that the same "24kpwn" exploit used to cracked open the iPod touch 2G will work on the iPhone 3GS. That means a jailbreak and unlock can be launched just as soon as the existing tools are updated for the iPhone 3GS (which won't be long). As George Hotz laments,
On a personal note, I'm sad. Apple, it took me a week to break through your new defenses. And to let us reuse an exploit like that; 24kpwn was so 5 months ago. Although I imagine it must have been painful watching the devices roll by on the assembly line, knowing they all had a hole in them and you couldn't fix it.
Oh George.

I don't really understand why Apple is so damn hell bent on their phone/pod being jailbroken. It's like they always want everything to themselves. They should already know that in this day and age, anything that deals with binaries CAN can WILL be hacked.
its not just Apple, AT&T has significant interests in keeping the phone on their network only.
FYI the iPhone os 3.1 beta is out for developers

I went to try out the 3GS at the Apple Store today, its pretty fast. 3.0 is cool but I think I'll be waiting a month or two before I decide if I want to upgrade my jailbroken 2.2
Because there is no tool (that I know of) that works with my PPC Mac, and because 3.0 still doesn't offer flash support or MIDI ringtone support. Only reason I want to upgrade is copy/paste since MMS is still around the corner. I don't want to risk losing data from the cydia apps either.

2) You're not getting flash now, what's the difference?
3) You won't lose data if you just upgrade, don't restore it as a new phone.
I can sync on multiple computers? Or do I not need to sync to upgrade/JB?
IIRC you were the one that provided me with the tutorial to JB at 2.2
Flash would make me upgrade in a heartbeat,
You might be onto something here...
