8.4 is out along with Music

Is it true that everyone who installs 8.4 gets put into the Apple Music trial automatically? And then is it true that after 3 months Apple starts billing the credit card associated with the Apple ID unless we are smart enough to turn it off? If true they can suck me.

No its not true. There is a prompt to start the trial, but you can say no and use your music just as you ever did.
But they did redesign the app to sort work in harmony/around the new service...and that could get annoying.

So disappointed. This is the only new feature that I wanted and thought it was in 8.4 release. Then I re-read the thread and see it is in iOS 9. But now I have another streaming music app, whoopie.

Your not auto enrolled in the trial. It's opt in. Can't speak to the auto billing as I did not opt in.

Also, with Apple Music. You can go into settings and turn it "off" which reverts the Music app to something more closely resembling what it was before the update.

Ugh I think my OIS is having issues. When I start up my camera sometimes the image is shaking like crazy and then looks normal.
Also when taking lower light photos the IS doesn't seem to work so well.

well i activated my free 3 months of apple music and found out i cant save music to anything but an iphone, ipad and ipod touch.
i was hoping to save it to my 3rd gen iPod shuffle to use while working out.
guess i might as well update my iphone to 8.4

How is Apple Music vs other streaming services?

That's interesting. I have noticed that Spotify is lower soundwise than Rhapsody, Google All Access, and Beats streaming (prior to Apple Music re-launch). And that's all of them downloaded to my phone for offline use at the highest quality via Wifi. However, I'm also concerned about the UI especially that I mostly use these in the car. The old Beats was a mess. Rhapsody's fantastic, Google's a PITA to navigate, Spotify ok but it wants to download all my "Saved" songs so I leave it in offline mode. For work I use the free Spotify service using their app on my desktop. Not sure why, but haven't heard an ad in weeks.

I'm not too fond of the UI for the new music app. Seems like a cluster fuck going on.
Also I really don't like how when streaming and I get to a area of poor reception the app just stops the music and clears out my "up next" playlist.
With pandora at least. It'll pause the music and attempt to resume it when the connection comes back. If it cant resume the same song then it'll just goto the next one.
I guess the good part with apple music is I could save the song offline, but I'd have to plan that ahead of time.
So far of all the steaming services I've used, pandora unfortunately has the best streaming/buffer system
But I really hate pandora.

Pretty much all apps allow offline saving. These streams eat data. I think I did over a 1.5 GB with Rhapsody streaming in mid grade quality. Mind you that's only like half hour in the morning and never in the afternoons driving home since I listen to sports talk. Mostly weekend commutes I'll stream.
And yeah that really really sucks Apple Music clears the playlist. Most services will usually download the song fairly quickly and then when the song ends, you're stuck until you get reception again. I typically download a few hundred songs that are in my rotation for offline use to avoid this.

I must be the only person alive these days that actually downloads music and transfers them to and fro.

I think a lot of people that bought through iTunes just sync their songs into their iPhone rather than keeping mp3's in their laptop hard drive. I never really bought mp3's so I just stream.

Yea I don't download music anymore. Waste of space since I'll only listen to it for a few years and then stop. Then it'll just sit there taking up drive space.

Im getting used to apple music...its a little messy, but Im working through it.
I have to mimic what everyone else says about the playlists though. This is THE BEST music curation I've seen/used. It has been nailing it over and over and over again and picking the style of music I want to hear and the kind of "new to me" artists I want to hear.
And figuring out the @connect tab...there is some cool shit. Its like instagram for musicians to post whatever stuff of their they want...Reznor posted a couple of albums with just the instrumentals...good shit.

It is disappointing that you can't put anything on non-iOS products like you could in days gone by. My kids have iPod Nanos of varying generations. The problem with buying something like a Touch is that it is purposely useless in about three years.

Thanks - everything was going well until I hit the ABSOLUTELY UNMENTIONED $10 fee to upload ONE track to CD Baby - which is the affiliated service unsigned artists are to use to upload unpublished tracks. I did it anyway, but I'll tell you ever since hearing about this capability I had this question mark in my head like "this is too good to be true" and had a feeling there would be a catch somewhere - anywhere there it is
well yes - but I plan on doing other styles too. I just wanted to try it so I used a track I had sitting around

Just signed up yesterday for the 3 month trial and Im liking it so far. I may decide to keep it. Just about any song you want, any time...This is the way it should be.
